When things that one person can decide turn into a things that must be agreed  on by two, along come all the haggles.

If we get married at 20 and die at 80, we have to stay with one single person for 60 years, which sounds.. a lot. People are different, so if two decide that they want to live together, problems arise quickly because of differentiation. On the other hand, sunken costs like children, apartment, family plan, insurance.. detain the thoughts of breaking up. This is probably the reason why the more freedom we have on choosing the way we live, the more problems we face.

As we’re given more and more options, choosing, however, has become something that decreases the satisfaction one deserves from being able to choose.
