Coding is the process of writing instructions that computers follow to perform different operations. In simple words, a coder instructs the computer what to do and how to do it.
Our society is becoming dependent on the tools and platforms of the digital world and without any doubt, coding is the DNA of this world. Every computer programme, website, app, and even a calculator relies on code in order to operate.
Stephen Hawking said, âWhether you want to uncover the secrets of the universe, or you just want to pursue a career in the 21st century, basic computer programming is an essential skill to learn.â
âIs coding for me? Will it be too difficult?â Statements like these have stopped many before they even try. Tell me, wasnât forming words difficult at first? It was, right? A blank slate is always scary.
Do you know, Tanmay Bakshi, the youngest programmer of India, began coding at the age of 5 and developed his first iOS app at the age of 9. Now, he is a Watson Developer, a Cloud Advisor, and the youngest IBM Champion. Isnât it amazing?
Well, there is no specific age of learning to code. We are living in a world where we should encourage kids to not only consume digital media and technology but to create it. Coding can not only foster creativity but also improves problem-solving skills in kids. As the world becomes more technology-oriented, learning to code opens up many different career opportunities for young minds and also helps them to explore the vast field to technology.
