i think one of the sweetest human gestures is bringing your hand up to your heart. when someone compliments you. when you compliment someone. when you're surprised. when you see someone you haven't seen in a while. like. you're so full of love your heart is bursting with it, but instead of trying to keep it in with your hand you only enhance the love with the gesture. holy. it's holy.

no but what about adult friendships. not childhood best friends where you've watched each other grow up and change and develop. but best friends who met when they've already done all that. they've already gone through their highest highs and lowest lows. they've had childhood friendships themselves, and maybe still have or already had to let them go. what if you meet someone when you're in your twenties that isn't so open to read, that has already changed and grown into the person they are today. how is trying to figure them out despite of these walls and barriers, breaking through them and unraveling years of a life you haven't been part of before but are very much now. how is that not something admirable and brave? the effort and the patience and the set-backs it takes? it's all about purpose. everything. all of it.
