Haven’t put anything on here in a long time.  So, here are two random characters I drew today.  

Spent the last 2 days rigging this character drawing in live2D, then I used Facerig to animate it with my webcam.  I didn’t get around to rigging any blinking, or mouth movements, though I think i’ll do that next.  

I uploaded a follow up video to go over a method for creating far larger maps without having to do a great deal more work hand painting details all over the place.  Modularity is king here.

 Editing was quicker than I thought it would be - I tried to keep the video under 7 minutes so it wouldn’t drag on.

Working on cutting up a video tutorial at the moment.  Hope to have it up in a few days on my youtube channel.

Some recent test art I did, comic layout shit.  Backgrounds were a lot of fun.

Some progress images here.  Random layout stuff, and some rendering of the first frame.  Bits of polish still needed, but i’m about to move onto the next panel.  There will be figures in these panels, but i’m not dealing with that at the moment.

Trying to combine my landscape painting stuff with my character drawing interest.  They rarely coincide, but I think I hit upon a nice workflow here.  I may do more of these.

Playing around with a painting from a few months ago.  Feeling a lot better about combining traditional and digital techniques.

pretending I know how to code games, i’ve been working on this for a few days now.  Salamanders are done today.

I’ve uploaded a few new timelapse painting videos to my youtube channel over the last week or so.  Check them out if this sort of thing is interesting to ya.  I’ve been trying to record short music loops for each video.

Tried playing around with Opentoonz today.  Did a quick animation to get used to some of the basics.

Worked a bit on a cityscape today on my twitch stream.  I’m going to work on the character after i’ve done the background, so for now she’s pretty rough.  Got some use out of some recent acrylic paintings I did, they were very useful in texturing the scene.  Wondering about drawing in some floating vehicles now.

I’ve been watching a lot of anime this week.  Made me want to paint some plants.  Many of these sketches will probably find their way into future digital paintings in some form or other.

Started a portrait today - got surprisingly far after 5 hours!  I’ll hopefully finish it tomorrow on stream.  A number of anatomical quirks I need to fix, as well as some rendering stuffs.  Also the shirt is very unfinished.

So i’ve been doing some closer studies of dirt and rock textures to build my visual library.  Here are three i’ve done over the last few days based on some photos I took in a walk around a park near Toronto.  More of these to come I suspect.
