prometheus: hot take,
the greek gods: no give that back
I shouldn’t have laughed that loudly
they call it his achilles heel because ack! It killies him
They call it the Odyssey because it really do be Odd at Sea
this is incredible
i'm working on a full gifset of the trailer rn but i just needed to highlight this shot for a second.
i'm a violinist, so i can't come from a cellist's perspective, but i can come from a string instrument perspective.
this is probably the best faking of a string instrument i've ever seen? maybe my view is skewed because i love him and his acting, but when i heard about him playing a cellist, i planned on going into this with a more critical eye than a lot of others probably did.
the bow hold is REALLY good. he's actually using his wrist instead of his shoulder. he's got great back posture (!!), and his left hand is doing REALLY well. the little bit of vibrato with his pinky at the end is insane
and the fact that his bow strokes are matching up with the notes he looks to be playing?? he's on the right strings at the right time??
this is going to be my entire personality until december jfc
great work, bb
I've played cello for years. Co sign on OP's concerns. I was feeling a little cringey when the trailer started. But he really is selling it well here. I've read that he admitted this one was of the hardest demanding physical things he's has to learn for a role.
Looking forward to seeing this - between him and Tony Gilroy directing.
life is honestly too short to be embarrassed over anything that sparks even a little happiness in you

"Lindsey Graham, a longtime US senator and key ally of Donald Trump, has died from a sudden illness, his office said on Sunday. He had just turned 71.
Graham’s abrupt death will send shock waves through Washington and the Republican party. He had served in the Senate since 2003, representing South Carolina, and was running for re-election in November."

this is the vibe i bring to the party actually
Fanfiction exists for TWO reasons:
Dealing with complex thoughts and emotions I can't work through in therapy, like grief, despair, a complicated relationship with pain and addiction
Seeing the same characters fuck over amd over again
Sherlock and Watson are rumored to be lovers because they are two halves of a better whole. Poirot and Hastings are rumored to be lovers because there is simply no other reason for Hastings to be there.

Americans celebrating the 250th like
don't call me out like that
@brainfuzz - I feel like this could be a prompt for a C&R or Nickels fic.
Who's the true believer, and who's just there for the beer?
I feel like they all kicked a ball around during deployments, either from sheer boredom, or a "wining hearts and minds" schtick with the local kids (Kelly). But who would be the true fan? They were all competitive assholes.
Let's see, I'm going to go with both Nick & Kelly are there for the beer, but Nick at least knows the game, even if he doesn't really care about it. Kelly knows the very basics of the game, like, you can't touch the ball with your hands, and you kick it in the goal to score one point, but that's about it. He did love playing it with the local kids, but he leaned into the "bumbling American who doesn't know anything about football" because he's just not into organized sports. They do go to a game (Babe, its the world cup and it's in Boston, we have to go) and Kelly is very enthusiastically cheering for whoever the Scots are cheering for because they're his kind of people.
Ty has opinions and a favorite team, Zane is always amused by Ty and sports, Owen also has opinions and a favorite team, but like baseball, its the wrong one. Digger find its mostly boring because you can't tackle anyone and nothing blows up. (He prefers rugby if you're not talking baseball)
Eli is the reason everyone knows anything about the game, so they all watch at least one game to remember him.
See - I think that LIAM is the true believer. (Wildcard has entered the chat). They bump into him in the crowds. He's still on a high after the Arsenal win and it Team England all the way. Everyone else picks other teams just on principal. Digger pretends to be Senegalese and butchers the french language on purpose. Owen picks whoever is statistically better than England. Kelly and Nick heckle him about Wrexham getting better and will challenge Arsenal soon in the premier league. Grady just refuses to speak him at all. Or if he does, it's with a New Zealand accent. Zane just looks at The Tartan Army and mourns what he missed out on (
“Scotland?” Zane echoed, perking up. “Does that mean Ty has to wear a kilt?”
Abigail Roux. Ball & Chain (Cut & Run, #8) (Kindle Locations 362-363). Riptide Publishing. Kindle Edition.)
Oh that's valid. Liam would definitely be all in and be rooting for the same team he's followed all his life. Zane, though, I feel like Zane would be on the fence about the Tartan Army. On one hand, its sidewinder-type shenanigans by a group of people he won't feel responsible for, on the other hand, what if sidewinder joins in.

I'm so happy to see Cut & Run stuff on my dash! I think they'd cheer and drink beer, but soccer just can't cut it compared to baseball!
Here's my au current headcanon for baseball -
Deuce and fam invites Zane and Ty to see a Banana Ball game with them. Amelia is having the time of her life - they've been to several games before and she loves it. Ty has no idea what Banana Ball is and is to offended he can't speak. Amelia keeps chattering away at him, thinking he's enjoying it too. Ty is about to burst a blood vessel not cussing around his niece. The other adults are amused by his pain.
Zane is not so subtly chair dancing when the teams do their dance breaks on the field.
