Gryffies of Visen [Trait Guide]

Griffin people, referred to as Gryffies, are a distinct species of entertainers and labourers. They originate from a coastal strip of land on a Western continent; explorers, and Gryffies who wanted to start a new life with their families, began to travel by ship to Fryae, a continent that is known to be filled with powerful magic. These newcomers were welcomed by the snowcapped kingdom of Auctia, though most began their journey past the country and towards other lands in search of something better.
Back in their home country, a zealous wind begins to pick up, taking away their ability to fly to safety. Not so long after, an unexpected hurricane sweeps through the coastal village and wipes out the Gryffies’ homes; surrounding kingdoms take advantage of the devastation to move in and claim their land. This leaves the Gryffies in Fryae to be the sole survivors of their species.
Gryffies quickly learn that they aren’t entirely welcomed in Fryae; Morta, the land of athletic humans, sees them as vagabond nuisances. Eldeus, the land naturalborn mages, sees them as inferior for their lack of magic. Auctia, the land of demons with temperature resistance and heightened senses, saw this as an opportunity to populate a piece of land at the base of their mountains.
And so Visen was born. The king of Auctia worked alongside Gryffies to establish a state within the country, even allowing them their own autonomy minus Auctia getting the final say. In exchange, Auctia protects Visen as one of its own borders with guards often stationed about the state.
Future kings and queens of Auctia keep up this humanitarian practice; as their world evolves, Visen begins to take in other outcasts, housing Cavefolk, Undead, and other exiled groups.
When Visen had announced its statehood, they celebrated with their own flag stuck right on the border of Visen and Greater Auctia, with miscellaneous feathers tied to its post. They hold an annual game where the state government hides the flag and residents of Visen return it in exchange for a monetary amount. It’s not just a thing of pride, but a symbol of belonging.
Due to being seen as otherworldly, Gryffies not associated with Visen spend their time as entertainers, like jesters, or partake in hard labour to support themselves.
Gryffies are an open species with free reign to do whatever suits your interests. I'm sharing my lore for the fun of it! You may insert your personal lore, put them in different settings, or just make fun designs!
Landmarkers designs must not be offensive in nature. Gryffies are diverse in skin tone, hair texture, and can be disabled. Please handle these topics with care.
You may not use Gryffies for commercial uses. Selling your personal designs as adopts is permitted as long as it's your own work.

Feathered and Feline Ears

[Additional notes:] Ears can range from any colour, pattern, or fur texture. They can even be bald. Gryffies have a heightened sense of hearing thanks to their feline appearance.
[Additional notes:] Digits can be claw-like, including toes. Either legs can have paws. Don't forget to add paw pads for extra comfort.

[Additonal notes:] Not all Gryffies are made the same; some may not even have tails or wings, or they may be missing a piece of their ear. This could be due to physical trauma or birth defects.
Stories can be written in any timeline; you can experiment withy futuristic, apocalyptic, cowboys, medieval, or simply modern. Don't let the canon lore stop you from engaging with your character in a way that you enjoy. Have fun!
