My little brother got the sweetest-looking little Scrapper model recently, that is so chunky and cute and small that it gives me cuteness aggression
Every time I see my brother’s Scrapper, I immediately start gushing over it—calling it cute and tiny and making kissie sounds at it (and sometimes actually kissing its little head). This pisses my brother off to no end
He has decided that I need to get my own Scrapper (of the same model) so I can call THAT ONE cute and leave his alone. The problem with this plan of his, is that he got his Scrapper in a blind box
I don’t wanna encourage him to gamble but I can’t stop—his Scrapper really is adorable

oh i have an almost endless pile of references *cracks knuckles* get ready, this is gonna be a long one
some of these drawings are a few years old at this point. i periodically go update wings or the clarify the linework for my own visual reference. (this post is a very good example of how my drawn wings have gotten better over the past decade)

also... both lucifer and beelzebub tend to wear black. a lot of it.
firstly, for luci. the basics about him are that he's tall, blonde, has powder blue eyes, is deathly pale, and kinda bony at times. he looks like he's sick a lot, because he that's his perpetual state after his fall. he's missing his left wing and has a big scar on his back.
here are two of his outfits in holiest (sorry there's no wing + tail in the one on the right. it's very old) yes, he likes to be barefoot whenever possible, and he does tend to like long, flowy fabrics.

i also put him in pretty dresses sometimes. he's genderfluid, so his presentation is entirely dependent on whatever gender he's feeling at a given time, and he styles himself to match it.
in some of the scenes in holiest, he is also wearing the plain robe that he wore while imprisoned during the harrowing. his hair gets very long during that novel, and his tail sometimes gets pulled out (i'll be redrawing this wing soon)

sidenote: after he returns to hell, he keeps his hair in a braid for a while. he later on cuts it to be shorter than it was before his imprisonment (i'm kinda mad at him for this, but oh well)
and of course i need to add luci from heresiarch. i have a bunch more outfits for him, too. the robes that angels wear in heaven tend to be a mashup of ecclesiastic vestments and whatever angelic symbols are relevant to a character. his hair is a bit longer here than it is in holiest, but not by much. here are two of my favorites (casual robes with pet peacock, and war-in-heaven armor)
this one is just a good reference for the proper value structure of his wings at the time:
below are decent refs for luci's back. most of his clothes have spaces/gaps to accommodate his wing and tail (all of the angel's clothes do, but i rarely draw them from the back). you'll probably notice that if they have the lower two wings or a tail, then they frequently have something around their waist—i imagine it's attached to the clothes, or sometimes added as an additional wrap, and helps stop whatever they're wearing from moving or opening up more, since the back is always open or shorter than the front. not that i could draw this the best in the past, but i'm working on it.
one last thing: luci's prosthesis, for if anyone needed a reference or wanted to draw it (i also imagine that the armature was eventually covered with feathers, but it doesn't stop it from looking mechanical... and no he still can't fly):
MOVING ONTO BEE
basics about bee: he's shorter than lucifer and has a medium-deep skin tone. his hair is unruly and curly, so he keeps it short. i imagine it black to match his crow wings, but brown or dark red hints in it can work too. he has freckles! i just like the way they look on darker complexions.
here are references for two of his iconic outfits: the armor that is mentioned in holiest (which is also featured in the harrowing, but not heresiarch, since he had different armor then) is on the right, and! although he doesn't wear this in holiest, on the left is one of the outfits he wore while acting as sovereign of hell during the harrowing. apologies again for wings, i'll make them better, i promise

so, what does bee wear on a normal day? stuff more like this. he really likes to show off his arms.
for his wingies: two attach at the base of his neck, two larger wings attach to the shoulder blade where angels usually have them, and two wings attach at the lumbar. the top two are to let a seraph hide their face, since their eyes are always glowing with their fire. the lower two are, according the biblical canon, to cover the legs—but i think when in flight, they fulfil the function of a tail and allow the seraph to be faster and more agile.
but!! this is a lot of wings!! i'm totally okay if people want to make some of them smaller, or attach elsewhere for the sake of 'six wings is fucking hard to draw.'
i just got the sudden and intense desire to redraw the above reference, because it's from 2021. i might be doing that soon.

of course there's a bunch of other refs on my tumblr, but i know that can be a lot to scroll through on mobile. my ig is also filled with art. and i'm in the process of making a document with descriptions/refs for all my main cast... but that's taking a while and not my top priority, since i'm focusing on wormwood's fall.

having a process for people who have done morally horrific things to make amends, rejoin community, and do right going forward is actually fundamentally crucial for the left. having a clear and accessible pathway for people to be socially (if not interpersonally) forgiven is how you get people radicalized against capitalism and imperialism and white supremacy and patriarchy. its how you turn "these people think i am a bad person" into "these people think something and someone coerced or forced me into doing bad things, and these people want to help me do something about that."
if you want more revolutionaries, you must have a system to turn guilty, traumatized, angry bystanders and collaborators into revolutionaries. and I say a system and process because its not "oh the drone operator said they were sorry and felt bad so its all good now :)" there is no shortcut here. but it is absolutely necessary. no revolution is comprised of morally pure people. in many cases, the most devoted revolutionaries are the ones who know exactly what it is like on the other side.

trans men and transmascs do need to hear they aren't hurting anyone for being masculine, but more than that they need to hear that they are loved for being masculine. your masculinity is wonderful and magical and you pull it off incredibly well. your masculinity is cool, it's desirable, it's attractive. there are people out there who will be drawn to you because of your masculinity, not just in spite of it. you deserve more than just to be tolerated in queer spaces. your masculinity deserves to be celebrated
