She hesitates at the gesture, carefully taking the food container from the extended hands of the boy in front of her. She quietly whispers a quick “Thank You” and “Goodbye.”

The door slams in their face, leaving them stunned. “Wow, she’s ever the charmer.” Seungkwan says in a huff from the right of Chan as they make their way back to the apartment.

“Don’t be sour, I’m sure she’s just having a bad day.” Hansol suggests. The two boys on either end continue their debate as Chan is still left pondering whether he had seen that girl before. He shakes his head, he would’ve remembered such a face as stunning as hers.

A sigh escapes Seungkwan’s lips before insisting, “I’ve done my good deed for today, I say we order some celebratory donuts. What do you think?”

The two having already entered their unit turn to their third roommate who still stands awkwardly in the hall. Hansol waves his hand to grab his attention, “Hello, Earth to Chan?”

“Do you think she’s single?” He whispers to himself as he touches his checks in both hands to feel their sudden warmth.

He read ‘Ready Set Go!’ in green letters on the sign above the office space. A scoff leaves his lips, could they have not come up with a more unoriginal brand name. The sound of windchimes can be heard as he enters the shop.

“I’m sorry, can we help you?” A gentleman with a deep voice wearing a clay covered smock over his white t-shirt and cargo pants.

Without breaking his eyes away from the various paintings and pottery on the wall he confirms, “Yeah, I’m looking for the owner.”

“That would be me.” Jeonghan was never one to stare. However, the paint covered Angel that spoke nearly half a foot away from him made it difficult to look away.

He readjusts himself just as quickly as he walked in hoping to keep with his level headed professionalism. “I need the rent by the end of today.”

“I’m sorry, who are you?,” Y/N looks at him. It was difficult to determine what she disliked more, his cockiness or his pretentiousness.

“Your new landlord.”

“Grief is the price we pay for love.” YN leans into his shoulder, as Mingyu eyes the side of her face.

He takes a deep breath to clear his head of any hesitation before he speaks, “Guess that means I’ll probably be left broke and distraught if you ever left me.” Taking his free hand he swiftly interlocking their fingers before planting a kiss on top of her knuckles.

Y/N chuckles warmly at the act before arguing, “Not on my watch. I’d turn into a ghost and follow you everywhere to make sure you pick the right girl after me.” Y/N looks into his eyes as they turn to press their foreheads against each other. Mingyu adjusts his legs on the bench to make some space between his thighs before carefully moving her onto his lap.

He had debated whether or not their relationship would be endgame just a few moments before she arrived in the backyard of his family home. When Y/N appeared before him under the bright colors of spring in her white picnic dress the answer couldn’t have been made more clear. “I don’t think I’d have the heart to replace you. All I’ll ever want is to stay with you like this for the rest of my life.”

Jeon Wonwoo (@ 1Woo): Y/N’s friend from university, Mingyu’s partner for solving crime. One of the best detectives in the district.

Lee Jihoon (@ 7Hoon): Newly appointed commissioner. Also better known as boyfriend and Y/N’s number one supporter.

Seo Myungho (@ MH8): Wonwoo’s new partner. Has never met Mingyu. His obsession with Mingyu’s case made him join the 117.

Kim Mingyu (@ 1Min406): One of Unit 117’s finest. Y/N’s fiancé. Lived in apartment 406 with the others and planned on moving out with Y/N before their wedding.
