St. Malo is incredibly beautiful.
After St. Mont Michel, we took a stop at St. Malo. Again, we really had good luck with the weather, and it enhanced everything we saw. The English Channel (La Manche) was a stunning green- usually, I'm told, it's a grey.Â
Some other students and I decided to go swimming in it! The water was cold, but it was a great memory.
After spending a litle time at the beach and in the water, we went to get a coffee and a gallette- a butter cake that is a specialty of Bretagne. While walking back to the bus, I saw some jellyfish in the water too.
We returned home just in time for the Fête National fireworks- though the weather had broken by now and I couldn't really see them in the overcast skies. I returned home and had fondu with my host mom and some of her friends, and conversed!
Best Fête National ever. :)
Mont St. Michel Part 3!
Mont St. Michel Part 2!
As you look at the photos, it's important to remember that this place was constructed and reconstructed over a very long period of time; what we see today is the product of a lot of hard work and many mistakes!
Mont St. Michel Part 1!
Marked by a beautiful landscape and a small pilgrimage, St. Mont Michel is a truly beautiful historic site in France. We were unusually lucky with the stunning weather- usually in the North of France, the sun doesn't shine like it did for us. It was also the Fête National, France's Independence Day!
Still inhabited by monks and nuns, we even saw a few walking around!

To get back at me for taking everyone's sleeping photo, one of the advisors for the trip took mine. ;) Très beau garçon.
Sleepy Students! On our way to St. Mont Michel and St. Malo, I deviously took pictures of the sleeping students. ;) Muahahaha
Patterns in France Part 1!
Like most humans, I'm naturally drawn to patterns and like to see different geometrical designs. When I see something I think is cool, I take a picture of it to share or keep for my memory. Here are some interesting things I saw!
Patterns in France Part 2!
Crêpe Party! Mes counselors nous apprennent l'art de cuisiner les crêpes et mousse! C'était un très bon moment pour les étudiants. Il n'y a rien comme une cuisiner pour créer plus fort l'amitié!Â

Happy Fourth of July!
Along with visiting Vouvray, we also visited Chenonceau- the second most visited Château en France. We really lucked out with the weather- the grounds were beautiful and completely enhanced by the sun and agreeable temperatures!
I have fond memories of spending every fourth of july on water with my family, so this day really didn't let down for me. I ended up on row boats with other students, and we all partied together in the middle of a big river surrounding the château.Â
We went on an excursion to two different places today- Vouvray and Chenonceau! While I didn't take many pictures at the wine caves of Vouvray, I thought it was worth sharing what I did. The wine caves are very cool (and dry) places that wine is stored in, giving it time to do the stuff it does. We walked through the cave (which is incredibly long- fortunately our tour wasn't the entire cave!) and I learned that they produce over 3 million bottles of wine a year.
Niveau Français
Je suis pas sur comment d'arriver dans le niveau 65 pour Français, mais ça arrive!
New Roommates!Â
My new roommates, Alejandra from Colombia and Nanaho from Japan.
I really enjoyed spending time with Nanaho- while she was only here for a week, we really bonded and had a lot of fun together. By the time she left, both my host mom and myself were very sad to see her go.
Nanho and I went to a Crêperie, Mami Bigud, together! It was so bizarre and cool- the design of the restaurant is vintage but with a very original twist.Â
The French love their pets- they are a truly important and integrated part of their lives.
I don't even want to explain the first picture further than: Dog Barmitzvah.

One major event I did while on vacation was Tourange'L Magazine's First Year Celebration! (Their magazine was called Tourangelle, but Elle magazine had some problems with that).Â
There were a lot of well dressed people, great food and champagne. While I don't feel likeI can participate in conversation too much, its still great for my comprehension to hear everyone talk!Â
The celebration took place in a very old building in Tours that had recently been renovated. It was beautiful, and the entire night was very memorable.
My host mom's ex-husband is the person who actually invited my host mom to the car show. I just graciously tagged along. I got to ride to chez lui in one of his old cars- it was very cool.Â
My host mom's ex-husband owns a lot of old cars and has a glorious old French estate. It was such a treat! All of Sunday evening, we enjoyed drinks, food, and a lot of conversation.Â
