Love the one you're with

For anyone who hasn’t had the chance to see it, tonight is your very last opportunity to see Madison and myself starring in Chicago! The run hasn’t been without its ups and downs, so in some regard I’m definitely ready to move on to the next challenge that awaits me, but the time that I’ve been able to spend with the cast has been an experience that I will certainly remember always. 

I also have a few passes to the cast party afterwards if anyone is interested in joining us, so if you’re interested in attending please let me know! 

What happened to blondie? Oh well, congrats on that, I guess. Hope it was fun. The cast party, I mean. I look forward to hearing how you managed to kick her out of the role.

It’s not that I don’t enjoy being spoken about, but at least give me the benefit of an in-depth conversation first. You don’t have to say anything nice, just say something of substance. If you want to mumble that I’m a ‘wanker’ or that I’m ‘gorgeous’ as you walk past, at least give me a little more attention than just that. We’re social creatures, we thrive off of attention, and all of that nonsense. Some of the people around here, I swear.

Anyone think they can handle it? Go on. Impress me.

I believe that though. I mean, they see plenty in our bedroom too. Though I try to lay the cover over the cage when I remember.

I hope everyone had a good holiday. Columbus has been busy - I’ve had a fun trip, but I’m ready to be back in Chicago.

I would also like to mention that I’m the featured cabaret performer at Davenport’s Piano Bar on Sunday evening at 7. There’s a cover charge to get in, but it’s a fun way to end the weekend. If you don’t have plans, I expect to see your smiling faces there.

How do you go about getting a job as a cabaret performer? Do they do auditions like other places do interviews? Do you know of any other places that would be interested in a singer who’s never done it before?

I know, I’m terrible at transitions. But I saw the cast list and Sam’s been talking a lot about your on stage kiss, so have fun with the big lips. Yes and no. We’re starting to try and narrow down some of the things in our binder. But we haven’t picked a date yet.

Poor kid’s nervous macking on someone like me. It’s understandable. Lucky for both of you, I no longer have the interest I used to have in him. You’ve gotten further than me and Dani. I’d been doing some planning back in the summer, but I just kind of….I don’t know. Back when we originally decided we would stay married and have an actual wedding, I said I wanted a winter wedding, but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. You’ll probably get to walk down the aisle before I do.

I’m excited to say

That after a lot of talk with the Berry men that I’ll be returning to Ame Cerise on a biweekly basis as the performer a few times a week. They’ve worked out a great deal with my record company and I’ll even have a little merch table set up every day where you’re all more than welcome to scan the silly things I’ve come up with. My first gig back is next Wednesday so I hope to see some of you there!

Finally, I get to work with someone I don’t want to kill, and someone from the old cafe. Until after the holidays anyway.

I don’t think Steve and Bunny are big fans of Footloose. They keep hiding while I’m rehearsing. Or maybe it’s just my dancing they don’t like. 

You dance kind of like a former stripper, but God knows those bunnies have been exposed to dirtier things. When you and D used to live together, they definitely saw us getting it on more than once, and back then it was almost always filthy.

I think if I was a psychology major, I’d have a harder time realizing that I am a bit of a control freak. And I’d be trying to psycho analyze people more than I already do. By the way, how have you been?

In that case, on behalf of everyone, let me thank you for not choosing that as a major.

I’m in talks with Rachel’s dads about it, they’re on the fence, so we’ll see.

Well I’ll keep putting bugs in their ear, or however that expression goes. One of us will break them eventually.

No, I would never do that. People are wonderful at messing up all on their own. I’m happy to just watch it all unfold, with a well-placed smirk and comment here and there.

Now that sounds like me. Well congratulations on being able to sleep now without having to possibly beat on the ceiling with a broom. Hopefully whoever moves in next isn’t even worse.

If it was a tantrum, those are easy to navigate. But the guy I’m understudying for is pitching fits that would make three year olds stop and stare. 

Sounds like me as a child. My poor parents might be able to offer some insight. Shame you aren’t a psychology major. You could use him for a case study.
