Today I let my depression win. I didn’t get out of bed to go to work. I didn’t get up when my anxiety started in about everyone at work thinking I am lazy and feeling guilty that someone else had to pick up the slack. I didn’t do the laundry that has piled up over the last week. I didn’t take a shower, even though I knew I would feel better if I did. I didn’t eat breakfast, I barely ate lunch, and then I over ate at supper.
Today depression ruled my life, but I am getting better. I am fighting back. Depression is not who I am, it is just one malfunctioning part of a whole person. My depression does not define me.
