This makeup was inspired by the movie The Wild Robot, specifically the scene were Fink tells Brightbill the story of how Roz became his mother. The Wild Robot is such a visually stunning movie although very reminiscent of when it was made. I really enjoyed this movie and its comedy while still having a nice heart to the film, its definitely a rewatch.

I loved doing this look as it pushed me to use colours I normally wouldn't use. The yellow and green was a beautiful combo and yet when I first bought the palette their from I thought they were such ugly neons and I would never use them, particularly the yellow. Yet this look allowed me to see the beauty in them.

This makeup was inspired by Nyra from the movie Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. The animation for this movie is absolutely stunning and I really liked the character design of Nyra and had to do a look inspired by her. It was really fun trying to translate her design onto my human features, I loved using the bold red and gold both colours I don't use often. My favourite part about this look was probably the eyebrows, I also love how the sharp lines of the look make my face look completely different.

Wore this makeup for Halloween. It's quite simple but I'm really happy with how it came out and I'm so in love with these contacts, they are the prettiest shade!!

This look was inspired the 1997 movie Face/Off. I quite enjoyed the movie and it's ridiculousness and found it funny, so I thought it would be fun to do a look inspired by it.

I wanted to have a go at doing more illusion makeup so I thought about doing multiple eye illusions and came up with this gothic glam spider woman.

This makeup was inspired by my creeped outness of centipedes which was developed after watching the matrix when I was too young and the bug robot crawling into neo really freaked me out. Ironically after painting this centipedes no longer creep me out.

This makeup was inspired by daydreaming and the phrase head in the clouds. The winged eyeliner is supposed to resemble tv antennas as if your peering inside my mind.

This makeup was a little practice run for a similar but different look I have planned for Halloween. I think the eye came out not bad but there are some improvements to be made and I'm excited for my next go at it.

This makeup was inspired by the bird Kevin from the movie Up. I thought the movie was pretty good but a bit sad. I thought Doug was pretty funny especially the interactions with Kevin.

This makeup was inspired by my fear of swimming in deep water or water so dark I can't see the bottom. I always start imagining something coming up and grabbing me.

Movie review/critiques: As much as I like this movie and love love love the ending, I think that there are a few things that could improve it. One issue for me is the animation, specifically the lack of consistency in background details in between scenes. For example Rapunzel's room is full of items and colours, there are paintbrushes and pots, canvases and highly decorated furniture. This is a room that looks lived in and it really helps to make her character more three dimensional. We move from this room full of life to the village which looks so bare and stiff but it's not animated to show something in the story like the village being poor but instead it conveys a sense of laziness from the animators that makes the world feel flat and shallow. When Rapunzel speaks to the baker in town the faces of the background characters are never shown; they always have their backs to the viewer and they don't interact with each other or anything on screen, they just walk in a straight line. I feel if more care to detail was taken in this scene and similar ones the world would feel richer and it would make us care more about the villagers and the conflict affecting them if they didn't feel like cardboard cutouts.

This makeup was inspired by Mothra from the Godzilla movies. I've been getting into Godzilla movies lately and I recently watched the new Godzilla x Kong movie and I really enjoyed it. I find Mothra super cute and so I had to do a makeup look inspired by her, I really love how when she flaps her wings glitter drifts behind her.

This makeup was inspired by the mystery machine from the scooby doo movies. I found a bunch of old scooby doo dvds (the animated ones) and so of course I had to watch them, I ended up watching the samurai sword. My favourite scooby doo movie is actually cyber chase.

I'm on the fence about this look, I got a new moisturiser and it affected the way the paint sat on my skin and blended. The head came out good because I had my foundation on there before I put the paint on it, but I didn't for the rest of the body because I was planning to do that later as to not mess up the foundation while painting. But when I got to the body the paint kept going patchy and wouldn't blend nicely or give me a clean line, by the time I realised what was causing it I was 3/4 done so I just kept going but it's not as good as it could have been cause of the moisturiser. I couldn't get the colours as vibrant as the head or as clean as I wanted because of it😢

This makeup look is inspired by Tigress from Kung Fu Panda. I was super happy with how this look came out, I especially love how the brows look.
