A rant.
Now… this rant is a little bit out of left field. But this Morning I read something on Facebook that really grinded my gears. Person A, is going through a break up. Person A had a lot of comments about Person B, and so did Person A’s friends.
Now I don’t know what’s happened, and what Person A and her friends are saying could very well be true about Person B. What annoys me though, is the generalisation of Person B and ALL males.
Just because Person B did something to hurt Person A, doesn’t mean all men are pigs. That all men are heartless. How do we know that Person A didn’t do something to trigger Person B’s actions? How do we know that Person B wasn’t acting out because of treatment from Person A? Females can be just as selfish and hurtful as males. Sometimes relationships don’t work out. And that can be sad, and difficult, and hard to deal with. And sometimes there is a person to blame solely for that relationship not working out. But it’s that person alone, not that gender as a whole.
I have about 7 female friends in my life that I see and speak with on a regular basis and consider very close and important friends of mine. I have around 12 people that come to mind instantly when I think of my close and important male friends. And they are all wonderful. Completely and utterly wonderful. I spend a lot of time with most of them, on weekends, whether it be a night out or a casual lunch date as a group… I am happily married, and most of my male friends are friends with Rick as well, so the relationship I have with these guys is purely platonic. They are my friends. They love me, I love them. They’re funny, kind, smart. They look out for me when they know Rick is away at work. They check in on me, make sure I’m okay. I am lucky to have them in my life. They treat their loved ones and their partners nicely. They are good guys.
It drives me insane to hear people harp on about ALL guys being pigs. How ALL guys have no hearts. You just haven’t met the right person yet. And it sucks your relationship didn’t work out, and may have ended badly. But don’t rope all men into that category. People, PEOPLE, can suck. People can be nasty. People can be selfish. It doesn’t matter what their gender is. Males aren’t worse than females and vice versa. Take your crap out on the SINGLE person who deserves it, not everyone who happens to have the same genitals as the person who has hurt you.
And that’s the end of my rant.

Five Things | Saddest TV Episodes
So this isn't like... an official list guys. I mean, it's MY official list. At this current point in my life. From my favourite TV shows, what I deem, the saddest episodes. Episodes that have made me cry my face off, wail like a looney in my lounge room, sob hysterically while hugging a very confused Rigby. Ready?
Scrubs - My Screw Up
How I Met Your Mother - Bad News
This is England 86' - Episode 4
Skins - "Cassie"
Futurama - Jurassic Bark
RIGHT? RIGHT!?
Like, don't you guys need a moment after going through this list? It's okay. This is a safe place for feels and emotions. We can all let it out together, as a group. A group of loonies on the internet remembering fictional moments that have affected our lives more than real events have. (See how I roped you guys into being crazy too? HOW CLEVER OF ME.)

Sundays little but wise words.
I really like these words.
Limbo, lessons + lemons.
The past few weeks, possibly even longer, I've felt... out of sorts. I'm the kind of person that likes to be thoroughly organised. I've almost always got the next 5 years of my life as planned out as possible, so I know what direction I'm heading in. I don't mind spontaneity, but for the big picture, I have a plan. I like to have a plan. Planning and organising, it's my 'thing'. Well... being in control is my 'thing' really.
But sometimes life doesn't work out that way. I can normally handle this, and adapt my plans to suit the changes... but recently I haven't been able to do that. I have had no control. No ability to plan or organise. I couldn't have been less in control of my life. It wasn't such a big deal to start with... I almost welcomed the change really (for two to three days ha) - it was very different from the norm for me to just 'roll with it'. But rather quickly the change became to much for me. I started feeling lost, and confused. I was in limbo. I didn't know what I wanted anymore. I felt stressed and run down. I felt sad. I didn't feel like myself and started acting out in response to it. Not in a bad way, but I was definitely... pushing the limits in regards to how I would normally behave. (I make it sound so sordid... really I just had more hangovers than usual, and my wardrobe looked much better than our savings.)
It was hard to talk about with my friends, with Rick, because I wasn't sure anyone would understand, that anyone could understand how I was feeling, without taking it the wrong way. My loved ones are a great support - even if they don't understand what I'm trying to express, they listen, they make sure I know they're there for me. But it didn't make me feel any better. I could get things off my chest, sure, and hey maybe I could even make them understand where I was coming from... but it didn't help really. I still felt... lost. I was still in limbo.
Last weekend I had a moment. A moment of clarity I guess. It would all work out. Eventually. Sure I didn't have control, I couldn't plan, I couldn't be organised... for the time being. But I would eventually be able to regain control, get back to where I normally am in life. I don't know where it came from. Maybe I was sick of feeling the way I had been. But it was there. I started feeling better. I started feeling less lost, more me.
Sometimes I think life throws you unexpected lessons. Sometimes things take time. Sometimes you need to wait. Sometimes you need to feel lost so you appreciate when you're not.
Because suddenly... I know exactly what direction I'm heading in again. I've been waiting for this. Just when I thought I'd had enough and wanted to give up... life threw me a lemon. And out of limbo.

Five Things | Guilty Pleasures
Inside the Actors Studio. Obsessed with this. I have it scheduled to record on Foxtel and watch my favourite interviews regularly.
Gossip Blogs - I start with Evil Beet Gossip and work my way through my list of favourite sites. Apart of my daily work routine.
Repeating - I seriously repeat songs, movies, TV episodes - whatever I love the most at the time, a million times, happily, before I move onto the next song or movie or TV episode. I've listened to Magic by Coldplay non stop for 3 weeks now, and have been watching Misfits on series repeat since god knows when.
Fangirl-ing on Tumblr. I fangirl over British actors or book/character gifs/meme's. For the sake of my remaining dignity, I'll just leave it at that.
Succulents. Guys I garden now. I am Queen of the Succulents. You could call me Misty Day, if I'm honest. I can't even get into it. You just WAIT until I start blogging about my succulents.
Right on' Hiddles, right on. Or something.
Wedding Post: Ceremony, Part Two
We decided we wouldn't write our own vows, then discussed maybe we would write some, then both decided ultimately we didn't want to, that we would prefer those kind of words kept between us. We wanted to use traditional vows, and we wanted to keep the Ceremony short. But we still wanted it to represent us. I've mentioned this before I'm sure of it, but RIck and I love The Princess Bride. One of our favourite scenes, and something we often said to one another while we were engaged, was this scene. Something I do know I've mentioned, our Harry Potter love/my obsession. These were only small changes, but changes that made our vows more meaningful to us:
"I Rick Lavers call upon our family and friends and all here present to witness that I, Rick take you, Jessica to be my lawful wedded wife in mawwiage.
I solemnly swear to take you Jessica, To be my Wife. To have and to hold From this day forward For better or for worse For richer, for poorer In sickness and in health To love and to cherish From this day forward Till death do us part.
Always."
"I Jessica Bell call upon our family and friends and all here present to witness that I, Jessica take you, Rick to be my lawful wedded husband in mawwiage. I solemnly swear to take you Rick, To be my Husband. To have and to hold From this day forward For better or for worse For richer, for poorer In sickness and in health To love and to cherish From this day forward Till death do us part.
Always."
My niece Jaimi did a reading for us. I wanted to pick something for her that suited her age, but that was still appropriate for a Wedding, that still represented love, or the love that Rick and I had together. We eventually found a version of the Dr Seuss quote 'Oh, the places you'll go!' that was tweaked to suit a couple getting married. Ricks sister Isobelle loves Dr Seuss, so it made all the more perfect.
We had a custom Wedding Certificate designed for the Ceremony. It matched our invites and was apart of our paper goods Wedding Package by the Hankinson sisters. I absolutely love it. It looks so pretty framed hanging on our wall at home. As witnesses, Rick had his best friend and best man, Corey. I had my bridesmaid Raquel. I wanted all of my girls to have a role on the Wedding day, Brigitte was the Maid of Honor and made a speech, Raquel was my witness and Nicole was my go to girl, who also held our rings because she is the jewelry Queen. Besides our custom Certificate, I also loved that Corey signed his signature with his classic '#10' next to it.
These are the kind of memories I want to remember when I look back on our Wedding photos. A rush of sentimental moments, reminders of our friends and loved ones and our lives together throughout the years.
After vows, and readings, and signing of certificates, came our first kiss as Husband and Wife. To be honest, when I think back on the Ceremony, it all feels like a blur. It seems to have been so long ago, and something that went so fast, that I can only clearly remember certain moments. Suddenly we were nearing the end of the Ceremony and we were going to be married. It was such a strange but humbling feeling, knowing that.
A lot of our friends told me this was the moment they cried, and it's funny how much that can mean to you. Knowing how happy our family and friends were to be there, celebrating this decision with us. And to be genuinely happy, and to know that. I know Weddings are about two people making a commitment together, but one of the things I will always remember about our Wedding day was how the people surrounding us made us feel, and how without their presence there our day might not have been shaped the way it was. We really are so lucky.
And then we were Mr and Mrs Lavers... :)

CURRENTLY
Reading: I am just about to start reading a book called "The Sky is Everywhere" by Jandy Nelson. I've read a lot of good books recently, so I'm eager to start this new novel. I keep a track of what I read and want to read over at Goodreads.
Eating: nothing, but I did have poached eggs on toast for dinner and it was so good. You know how sometimes you just eat exactly what you were wanting without even knowing it? That's the kind of dinner I had. It was really good times. Thinking about: a lot of things. Like... so many different things it's hard to write them down. And now I can't really remember any of the things I was thinking about. Something to do with wallpaper... and also puppies... oh and the 'what if's' and 'maybe's' that are currently troubling my mind. Those kinds of things. Listening: Magic by Coldplay. It's basically all I listen to ever at the moment. Every time I'm in the car, every time I'm in the shower or cleaning our bedroom or outside. I wonder when it will pass. Watching: I'm not really watching anything at the moment. Well, Game of Thrones but that finishes tomorrow. I did just recently marathon This Is England (the movie and two series) and Misfits with Rick. I loved them both an insane amount. Misfits kind of lost it at the end but it had Joe Gilgun in it so it was still worth watching :)
Loving: Husband, because you know. Rigby, who has been a super cuddly ball of love lately. The weather. It's been cold and dark and raining. We still have warm days sometimes but the nights are perfect. I can't wait for Winter to really kick in!
Wanna go ahead and do your own "currently" post on your blog? Link back in the comments for me and others to check out. Thanks to Danielle at Sometimes Sweet for providing the inspiration (and her original inspiration) to start my own 'currently' monthly posts.

Sundays little but wise words.
I can't explain why or when it started, but I've always really really liked the stuff Steve Martin says. Because I'm a huge nerd, I have a bunch of his quotes favourite-d on my Goodreads profile. Yuuuuup, nerd.
I was also genuinely surprised when he became a Dad for the first time recent-ish-ly (it could be years now) when he plays so many father roles in movies.
Um... anyway. Look this is what happens when someone spends a lot of time on their own. They go crazy, and ramble on about really random and unimportant topics.
Wedding Post: Ceremony, Part One
Our Ceremony.
Things that we knew we wanted: for our Ceremony and Reception venues to be close to each other travel wise, or, ideally, at the same location. For Rigby to be included. For something short and sweet. For it to be personal, to feel sentimental.
It took us a while, but eventually it worked out that we were getting married in the The Secret Garden at the Cottesloe Civic Centre. I guess we didn't really know what kind of venue we wanted for our Ceremony, as long as it was 'different' so to speak. We didn't want a beach Ceremony, or a Pavilion Ceremony, or the same park that everyone uses. I'd actually suggested the CCC to a friend who was getting married, but wound up checking it out for ourselves instead a few months later. Seeing this garden helped us decide on our Reception venue. It was perfect and I knew it as soon as I saw it.
By the time the Wedding was coming together - I had this, story book, fairy tale, Princess Bride, forest kind of... theme/vibe going on. And with the help of Jess, the amazing stylist from The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator, it felt like we were getting married in a beautiful Castles garden.
We had custom made tassel garlands as the backdrop above our signing table. The garlands hung from a wooden branch, each a different colour, peach, coral or cream (and two were ombre and made me cry with happiness) and hung at different lengths. It was one of my favourite looks at the Ceremony.
We hired old rustic furniture from Jess, that we used for our signing table and chairs, and to display the key tags that would show guests where they were sitting at the Reception, which began shortly after the Ceremony. I loved the keys because they had a Harry Potter/Alice in Wonderland kind of feel to them.
I wore a veil during our Ceremony, as soon as I knew I was becoming a Bride I knew I was going to wear one. I was never going to change my dress, but I'd always wanted to look slightly different for the Reception after everyone'd seen me for the Ceremony. My first plan was to have my hair up with a birdcage veil at the Ceremony and down with my headpiece at the Reception. After my first hair trial, I knew that wasn't going to work out how I'd hoped in my head. So then I was going to wear my hair down, with the veil and headpiece to be the change between. The birdcage veil I bought could not have suited me less. It was a disaster. On one of my final dress fittings, I made a comment about how I loved long cathedral veils. Suddenly I had one on, had fallen in-love and was having my own custom made to match my dress material. I never thought it'd work with the style of my dress, that it would have been too much tulle going on... But it worked, to me.
It made me feel like a Bride.
Walking down that aisle towards Rick I looked different to how I had looked at the First Look and would look at the Reception (which I mention here), my face was slightly covered - there was the moment where my Dad lifted my veil over my face - it was all just very 'I am a BRIDE right now'. The First Look didn't feel like that, that was more about becoming a Husband and Wife... wait that's for another day and blog post. WHERE WAS I? Basically it made the Ceremony feel very different to what we'd felt earlier, so it was still a very special moment, walking down that aisle and seeing each other again.
Instead of trying to decide on one flower girl, and one ring boy, when we had TEN nieces and nephews between us, we wanted Rigby to be apart of our big day. In my head, he happily strolled around the venue sniffing and saying hello to people, before coming up to where Rick and I were standing and sitting between us. In reality, he would have to be kept on the lead because he would more likely than not be very excited and overwhelmed by what was happening.
We were wrong though! He was quite stressed when he first arrived with Sam, our cousin, and once he spotted me and realised I was standing with his Dad, he made it known he wasn't impressed hanging back with the Groomsmen. When a moment presented itself, Rick went and took his lead from Scott, and suddenly Rigby was sitting and laying happily across our feet, and then sitting happily next to me during the signing, and then happily playing with family! I could barely contain myself. (And couldn't, when we saw the photos of him from Samm.)
I feel like this is long enough. I'm going to post Part Two shortly :)

Five Things | Celebrity Crushes
This week on Five Things: DUDES. Guys. Famous men. People of the opposite sex that play my favourite fictional characters in TV shows and movies (book adaptions included). Celebrity males that I have deemed worthy enough to crush on. Ready?
Colin Firth
Robert Sheehan
Chris O'Dowd
Joesph Gilgun
Jamie Campbell Bower
Iwan Rheon and Miles Teller are my two reserves. A girls gotta have her options. What an array of odd looking males right? What can I say. I like em tall, lean, brunette (minus JCB) with those 'unconventional' good looks.
And British, apparently. (Minus Teller.)
All of these lads tickle my sense of humor as well - I'm big on the laughs when it comes to being attracted to someone - don't they just look like they're funny? I think that quality is actually what defines why I am attracted to the males I'm attracted to. Because they are funny - btw - my kind of sarcastic quick wit kind of funny. Well, not really Colin Firth but he's my older man crush. Robert Sheehan as Nathan (and kind of Simon I guess...), Chris O'Dowd in any of his roles really but mainly Simon (from The Boat That Rocked one of my favourite movies ever, because of this scene specifically), Joesph Gilgun as Woody and Rudy (I thought I'd never watch Misfits again after Nathan left AND THEN after Simon left but then we were gifted with Rudy <3), and JCB as... well... Jace. But I've read the books so I know more about the character Jace that JCB will play in the rest of the movies so that's where the crush comes from... oh whatever, I think that blonde massive forehead Brit is divine AND I EVEN LOVE HIS SONGS TOO. Iwan Rheon makes the reserve spot because of Simon (ahh, maybe I have a thing for the name Simon too?) and Miles Teller for all of his roles too... I guess mainly Daniel (from That Awkward Moment, even though the movie wasn't thhhhhhat great.)
I spent too much time thinking about why my celeb crushes are my celeb crushes while writing this post you guys. And then I accidentally let my inner fan girl escape and take over my every thought.
Am I ashamed? Well, no. I mean that's how I originally found myself on Tumblr to begin with, before starting to write blog posts instead...
I should be at least though, right?
RIGHT NOW.
This is how I feel.
Now I dunno about all females, but for me, I can legit change moods in about 0.2 seconds.
And my mood has DEFINITELY changed for the worse this afternoon. I feel like punching a butterfly right in it's tiny little face.
