On this Account you can find all the different things for Tristan FGO! Why? Because Tristan FGO is my absolute beloved, no it’s even Sir Tristan in general! I am a big fan!

❥ I have my own interpretations for Tristan and I like the Gottfried von Straßburg Telling the most. How I see Tristan is of course my own bias and interpretation. So if you disagree that’s more than fine and valid! I avoid discussions or arguments about such topics, so I hope we can get along as well!

❥ Also I am a Self-Shipper (alternative can be referred as Yumejoshi with a Yumeship) I mainly use my Alter Ego Juquia, who is basically just me but I re-wrote her history so she fits in the Fate-Verse, so I guess this also counts as OC x Canon. I write small and silly Fics for them. I always shorten the Shipping Name with „TrisQuia“ so I don’t always have to say „Tristan x Juquia“

I doodled this with blood, sweat and tears. A piece drawn with love and hatred in the bones.

In my Head it honestly looked way better and you can tell at some point I just got really frustrated and just wanted to finish the piece. The Idea was to just draw 11 Tristan’s for the 11th Birthday. Well it worked.

If you see any mistakes please keep them. I don’t want to think about it anymore but if you are nice to me and to the piece I might have sweet dreams. Honestly the mistakes are rather small because most of the things you see were intentional. I did them this way because I thought it would look quirky and cute but now it looks kind of like shit but it’s my shit so it’s fine <3

At the end of the Day I am glad I did something and despite everything I feel like you can still see the improvement of my doodles over the years, if you compare it to the previous ones. It’s funny to see how with each year I locked in more even tho it doesn’t really reflect my satisfaction with the state of the game haha

Unfortunately not quite in time. Currently my Life is really draining the spirit out of me and I admittedly forgot it, even tho it’s in my calendar, as embarrassing as it is. But in another timezone it might still be July 18th! Let’s stay positive!

So this Date is the Date I summoned Tristan in m Chaldea. My Main Chaldea, EN Side. My very first Tristan was in JP back then when the Camelot Banner released. Sadly I don’t have this Account anymore but I will never forget how, after the Tutorial Summoning, Tristan was the first Servant who would head my Call. Since this faithful day I feel like our Fates were written to be destined to be with each other, this is why Tristan is my chosen Servant, in every regard, even non romantic. 💘

It’s been now 2 Years that have passed since I visited the Tristan Stone in Cornwall one last time. The first time was on my Birthday. Some might remember (I will link the Post below). I remember that on my Birthday it was raining, but the moment I arrived at the Tristan Stone the rain stopped for this one moment. And on my last Day the sun was brightly shining all Day long. I like to think that the Place returned the Appreciation and Respect to me, which I had for it. I back then was really nervous to visit it, especially because I also had heard some ghost Stories online, haha. Silly, I know. But in the end I felt very positive and even comfortable there. I hope one day I can once again return to this Place…

Sometimes I really forget that this is a personal Blog too. I mainly use it as archive for my Tristan Posts but recently I often wasn't sure what would be alright or good to post here and what would be rather „trivial“. At the end of the day everything is trivial, it only matters to me.

OH. MY. GOD.

I never was THIS lucky with CE's before. As some of you might know, my CE Luck is terrible, especially if it’s a CE I truly truly want. The Knights of the Marine CE is my most favourite CE in the whole Game because of the Artwork, the featured Character (especially because Tristan is the Center here) and the Effect being insanely good. So as you saw I went in with only 60 SQ, a few tickets and a Dream. AND THEN I GOT HIT WITH THIS!!! I already found it insanely lucky to get one copy with one ticket but then 3 IN ONE ROLL?! THAT WAS THE EXACT AMOUNT I WAS MISSING TO MLB!!! OH MY GOD!

Jokes aside, this is of course a Commission requested by me, just in case someone who might be naive enough to really believe we would get a Tristan CE where he is for once without the Round Table lol (god I still wish for one where he is featured with any other Servants or alone, its been years and he only is featured with the other round table members. Insane actually.)

I really enjoyed it. The very first Tristan and Isolde Opera I saw was the one from 1983 which I have on DVD, it was the one with René Kollo. I liked this one a lot as it was very traditional in costuming and backgrounds. Over the Years I saw in Newspaper always the talk about more modern takes on Tristan and Isolde. Which made me really curious since I prefer the classic looks.

This Opera had a little change at the end in its telling. Nothing big to influence the overall story but it gives room for a new look and it’s open for interpretations. I personally wasn’t a big fan of it but I appreciated the intention behind it! Overall Yuval Sharon had inspiring ideas in how to portray the Play!

This Plays Background worked more with its special stage and light effects. There were many effects I really liked, for example the scene where Isolde Double holds up the Knife at Tristan’s Doubles Throat and on the higher up stage it would become the shape of said stage. It sounds a bit confusing but was a sight to behold!

The Costuming was great. I really love Clint Ramos' Work here and the Idea to give Isolde Green and Tristan Blue as Main Colours for she is resembling the Land and he the Sea was a genius approach. I get the costumes had a really nice balance of modernity and old fashioned costuming!

The Cast was grandios. I loved them all but I was especially fond of Lise Davidsen (Isolde) and Ekaterina Gubanova (Brangäne). Latter plays Brangäne knows since 20 years already because she likes the role so much! You can really tell the experience in her role! Tomasz Konieczny (Kurwenal) really bloomed into his Role and Ryan Speedo Green (King Marke) had such a sympathetic vibe to him, he really delivered the role of the tormented Marke so well!

Last but not least Michael Spyres as Tristan! I thought it was interesting that he said he is bipolar and that he finds it easy to relate to Tristan as he is a bipolar role too. He opened my eyes to a whole new view…! I liked his performance a lot too!

Act 1 is my favourite act so I was looking forward to it an god did it not disappoint. It even surpassed the 1983 Version for me. But when it comes to the Background and Scenery overall I really prefer the 1983 one. I found the surgery table a bit of an off look, I won’t lie, haha…

It was a blast. I really enjoyed it. It was a LIVE screening from New York! To think I was able to witness the Opera at the same time as many others did on another point on the globe is exciting…! Also today was the first day of spring! Quite Fateful to see the Tristan und Isolde Opera on the first Day of Spring, isn’t it? I call it a blessing!

This Commission was inspired by the Poet Catull and the famous quote „Odi et Amo“. I think most of you know the Poem due to its fame. But here a quick translation:

❝I hate and I love. Why do I do this? you might ask. I don't know, but I feel it happening, and it torments me.❞

During my Tristan Writings, I found myself thinking that this fits Tristan very well. For this, I will mainly hold onto Gottfried Tristan, especially because, in my opinion, we see a lot of Gottfriends Influences in FGO's Tristan. This makes sense to me as Gottfried is known to have the heaviest character writing when it comes to the Story, focusing less on the Story and its actions but rather on how the Characters move the Story with their Actions.

I refer here to the Love Potion Scene. As some might know, the Love Potion is depicted differently in all the Works of Tristan. But Gottfrieds Tristan was very strongly described. It was a whole fight against it. While some may argue that the way it was written then was to incline that they always felt this way, some essays who analysed it saw it as a complete annihilation of their personalities.

In Addition to the [actual] end of Gottfrieds Story which was an open one, where Tristan started to talk in a more negative manner about Isolde, I found it interesting. Here once again you could say it's to justify his growing feelings for Isolde Weißhand. It gave me a thinkpiece: Of what if the Love Potion just lost its effect. In some Tales the Love Potion as a expiry date, in some its everlasting. If we follow the first one we come to this interesting conflict: The actual Tristan was sealed away the moment the poison touched his lips.

❝I hate and I love […] I don't know, but I feel it's happening, and I'm being tormented.❞ - This could describe his fight against the Love Potion but also the conflict he has at the end of Gottfrieds Story. He hates his Situation, Isolde maybe, himself. Yet he also loves Isolde. He loves the Romance and he years for a better tomorrow and becoming a better version of himself. Yet in the end he doesn’t understand anything. Maybe because he doesn’t remember? The outer shell is suffering while the inner is raging. How would the Story play out if it wasn’t for the Love Potion? Who would Tristan then be? Who would your Love and Hatred goes towards to. In the end, Gottfried never finished the Story leaving Tristan in an endless mind maze of it’s own plagued by hatred, passion and confusion.

The Commission is another Love Letter of mine towards Tristan, his Tale and especially Gottfrieds Version. Gottfrieds Version is the one where peoples interpretation differ often the most. Due to the popular belief that Gottfried used his Work to criticize the society back then he was in, there is a lot of room for us to interpret where he might have hidden more or something completely different.

I find it intriguing to give more focus on the Love Potion. Because in the end it is still a Poison. In FGO we learn that the Love Potion at some point stopped and Tristan is very aware. In this regard Fate gave us a clear answer. But yet it leads us to his Interlude where he was full of torment as well not knowing if he ever really loved, was loved or even deserve love.

In the Interlude we are able to help him overcome this thought, yet the fact that the conflict existed remains and gives us a lot of room to play with as FGO keeps it vague with what path they directly went with. Tristan’s inner conflict and the Love Potion is central to his Character and Story. No matter how long and often I think about it, I will never get an definite answer of course but this is what it make so fascinating and why I will never be able to avert my eyes from Tristan.‬

Anyways, I kept it a bit short here. But depending on it I might add more thinkpieces or elaborated thoughts about it later or in the future. Thank you for your time reading it!
