Fashion is revolution. Butchbaby & Co. is a revolutionary step in fashion. Just as historic as when women began wearing pants casually or trousers in the workplace or suits on their wedding day; the clothes we choose to wear, feel we are chosen to wear, are statements that send a message. Butchbaby & Co. says, pregnant individuals are not limited to tight, scoop neck t-shirts, maxi dresses, and pastel colors. Pregnancy does not have to be hyper-feminine. Pregnancy belongs to all those who can carry a child; regardless of sexual orientation or gender presentation. You can be butch, you can be stud, you can be non-gender conforming, you can be trans, you can be lesbian, you can be bisexual, you can be queer, you can be straight, and you still have a right to bear children. You still have a right to be mom, mommy, mama, maddy, moddy, dommy, daddy, dad, whatever you feel comfortable being called; you have a right to choose pregnancy and feel comfortable. Butchbaby & Co. is a revolutionary clothing concept that de-stigmatizes the idea that the pregnant individual must conform to a singular look. That the pregnant experience is confined within a pretty, pink box. The vision of Butchbaby & Co. is to create a world where pregnant individual’s identities don’t have to change just because one’s body does. We aim to make pregnancy all inclusive of gender, sexual orientation, presentation, race, and class. The vision of Butchbaby & Co. is to make clothing that defies social norms and boundaries, and despite how uncomfortable that may be for some, our mission will always be to deliver the most comfortable alternity wear to gender nonconforming individuals everywhere. 

What is ‘Alternity’ Wear?

Alternity wear is the alternative to the hyperfeminine, heteronormative, eurocentric maternity wear that only exists today. Alternity wear is the only androgynous, all-inclusive apparel for pregnant masculine, trans, and queer individuals of all race, sizes, and class. Alternity is the new maternity.
