This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.

The tag I have seen most often on this post is "I needed to hear this," and I am so, so grateful to have said something that was needed. These words came out of the depths of my own grief, and I am so grateful to have made this small connection with others in the midst of it. I want to share something pretty cool: Magic the Gathering (the trading card game) has historically been very white- and eurocentric (which is still reflected in its predominantly white fanbase, even though the representation in the game got marginally better with time), but today they announced that one of the three original MtG sets coming out next year, Zhalfir, will be an Afrocentric set inspired by different African cultures and their mythologies. The design team for the set is led by designers of color (predominantly Black designers), and they've worked with cultural consultants, African history professors, and Afrofuturist authors to represent the cultures respectfully.

i've been rereading your werewolf opinions tbh because i also feel a lot like most werewolf media doesn't really have what i'm looking for in werewolves, holt being a rare exception of me cheering dancing throwing confetti with every update like yes!! you get it!! it's awkward to go "yeah i like werewolves" and then being unable to name a single title that i really Love. :,) do you maybe have a rec list? for the rest of us in this boat hehe.
