It is important to point out how abuse victims can become themselves abusers and the fact that the key of stopping chains of harm is refusing to be unkind and selfish and to become a monster.

PS: @strangestcase I agree with you that trying to pity and to justify characters like Dorian Gray, the Creature, the Phantom and Hyde is misogynistic: indeed, I have never understood why people do it or romanticize them as I can’t do it due to how awful their treatment of women is (and in the case of Dorian Gray I can’t stand him and his circle due to them being useless parasites of society).

I hate when people care more for men’s pain even if they cause even more suffering and grief to all women around them: it reminds me that judges who didn’t put in prisons boys who have no problems in gang raping and murdering girls for daring to refuse them or to break from them because “they don’t want to traumatize them”. 😡

It is a perfect example of “mercy against the cruel ones is an insult to their victims”. And I add it is making sure that these boys will remain monsters and will become even worse, thus leaving monsters to be a danger for women and society as whole free.
