Final Street Care Spot #4

The final spot of the day!  Underneath a CTA overhead train track, a consistent rain had created the most gorgeous puddle in between a fallen “All non-authorized vehicles will be towed sign” and a large manhole.

Visuals: 8/10 While the puddle was gorgeous the bombs themselves didn't spread out as much as I would've liked. What was spread though was lovely and the softest tint of pink came across most of the water.

Texture: 10/10 No froth really after the initial fizzling but the bombs but they did fully disperse to give the water that great light pink tint which is one of the ideal bath bomb results.

One of my favorite “drops”

For those interested in making their own bath bombs to drop around their neighborhood our recipe is super simple!

1 cup Baking Soda 1/2 cup Epson Salts (as finely ground as you can get them) 1/2 cup Citric Acid 3 teaspoons Oil (coconut or olive both work great) 2 teaspoons Essential Oils (we went with Pink Grapefruit for ours and it smells AMAZING) 1 teaspoon Water

(this amount of material can either make 2-4 larger bombs or 6-9 smaller ones so be prepared for however you want to make and in what size)

You mix all the dry ingredients and wet ingredients in separate containers and then add the two mixtures together, making sure everything is fully incorporated, pack it into a round mold with a bit extra on each side of the sphere and pack it together until each side of the mold connects completely(this will take a bit of shifting and scraping off excess material that gets squeezed out).

You can also use any type of mold, muffin tins work great in a pinch. 

Give your molds a quick tap with a spoon to ease the release, pull them out, let them dry for 24 hours and there you have your own street care ready bath bombs!

Street Care Spot #3:

An access door to what I presume are underground water pipe or electricity lines had sunken into the sidewalk over time and flooded in the rain. All the plant life imparticular caught my attention, it was practically begging for some extra soothing street care!

Visuals: 9/10 While the pigment didn't spread completely it did pretty well for itself in the space. But to be safe I did throw in a few extra bombs and the product was a puddle full of pastel clouds that started spilling onto the street.

Texture: 8/10 Since there were more bombs than usual, the concentration of froth looked really lovely and the metal covering got completely coated in the product along with the wilting wildlife. 

Scents: 10/10 The scent really filled up the entire block and masked most other scents around. You could see the Pink Grapefruit in the air putting an extra little smile on everyone's face as they passed down the street. But again the high concentration of bombs in such a small place is what created such an amazing aroma 

P.S Heres a shot of the cracking! It’s what really brought the whole experience together and used the bomb to its full potential. 

Street Care Spot #2: What a beautiful spot! A deep and well broken up pot hole perfect for collecting water and for getting all the citric acids and Epson salts to really soak into the concrete right where we want it. 

Visuals: 10/10 There was a perfect ratio of water to bomb so this beautiful pink really got to take over. And of course it got hit! The weight of multiple car tires dipping in and out of the hole cracked open the bomb fiarly quickly and added an extra froth of street debris and rubber bits that really got the bubbles going. 

Texture: 10/10 Again the pink froth was amazingly thick and luscious it couldn’t have been more perfect really.

Scent: 8/10 The street itself was already so fragrant so it was a bit hard to detect the grapefruit but the cracking open of the bomb via a small six wheeler really did the trick and the half the block filled with the scent.
