I’m just going to put myself on a hiatus until the 8th. December isn’t a happy month for me, and being around my brother just makes it even worse. I’ll probably still post a few small things now and then, but as y’all have seen, my activity has been spotty already, so it’ll really be a continuation of that. Kittyinva: 1922 ad for Royal Society Embroidery. The peasant-look came in with the 1920′s, and was still going strong in 1928 when Clara Bow’s “It” was made. One of the salesgirls she works with in the film wears a dress with a “Russian” collar and peasant embroidery. I think the impact of the Russian Revolution was highly influential on fashion, particularly since so very many Russians escaped to Europe and, to a lesser extent, America.
