Laa-Laaβs chest felt like it would burst any minute. Her breathing was labored and came out like wheezes. The custard Po had given her was starting to take effect. Was the custard really what caused this or is that just a lie?
Her mind was fuzzy and she saw double.
She dragged her feet behind Guardian, glaring up at the man. The only thing she could feel when she saw him was hate.
Hate. She hated him so much. He watched Tinky massacre her friends, and instead of helping them he just sat on his ass and watched.
Guardian proceeded on to those large pillars. βThe satellite station isnβt far from here. Letβs go.β He said, glancing behind himself. He stopped walking when he saw her sitting on the ground. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she groaned in pain.
Laa-Laa coughed up blood, her throat burning.
βCome on Laa-Laa, we need to move forward!β Guardian was starting to get anxious, Laa-Laa could tell when she looked up at him.
βI know, I know..β Her voice was hoarse.
βCβmon, get up!β Guardian approached her. She flinched as he tried to touch her shoulder. His fur was so dirty and disgusting.
βI.. canβtβ¦go on..anymore.β She huffed. βMy whole body hurts..β As she started to think about what would happen after this, she started to feel dread and terror fill her mind. Sheβll end up like Tinky, a bloodthirsty killing machine.
βI donβt want to turn into a monster.β Laa-Laa whispered, her voice barely audible.Β
When Tinky turned, he was asleep. He couldnβt feel the pain she was feeling now. Maybe if she went to sleep, she wouldnβt hurt anymore.
Maybe sheβd have a nice dream about her friends, and she wouldnβt have to worry about monsters or death.
βI just need to sleep..for a minute,β Laa-Laa said.
βI-..Okay Laa-Laa. Just keep your eyes closed, youβll be fine.β Guardian looked to the left but Laa-Laa didnβt care what he was looking at. She closed her eyes and her head drooped a little. She heard Guardian begin walking.
Her body tensed as the pain grew stronger. βIt hurts..so much..β She dug her claws into her knees. βI donβt know if Iβm going to be okay..β Laa-Laa couldnβt tell if she was talking to Guardian or if she was talking to herself anymore.
βEverythingβs going to be okay, just count down from ten.β Guardian was behind her now. βOkay.β Laa-Laa replied.
βTen..nineβ¦eight..β
Guardian raised the rock.
Laa-Laa felt something heavy hit her skull and she heard a crack. Then everything went completely black.
