Interesting book I found on Esperanto today, Universala Esperanto Metodo
Äu oni forgesis traduki Äi tiun skribaĵeton? AÅ Äu oni devas lasi Äin en la angla pro iu leÄo?
I found this video interesting, and I think the topic is worth considering for any native english speaker studying another language, which may not have these "weird" features. :)

PRAKTIKI DOES NOT MEAN TO PRACTICE.
Actually, it does kind of (;P), but only in the sense ofĀ āFulfill oneās professionā, e.g. āTo practice medicineā, or āput into practiceā, e.g. āto practice the teachings of a religionā.
Similarly, praktiko means āpracticeā only in the sense of āpractice vs. theoryā.
99.9999999ā¦.% of the time, when someone wants to say āto practiceā they mean āekzerciā. Alsoā¦
The object of ekzerci is not the thing you are practicing.

THE OBJECT OF EKZERCI IS NOT THE THING YOU ARE PRACTICING.
āEkzerciā literally means āto exercise/trainā. The object is the thing being trained, which is often yourself (āminā), but may also be something else (e.g. your arms, a dog, soldiersā¦). You need a preposition (usuallyĀ āenā) to introduce what you are practicing: āMi ekzercas min en Esperantoā = āI am practicing Esperantoā.
Just to make it a little more difficult, I will say:Ā āOni povas ekzerci sin en io per praktikado de Äi.ā =Ā āYou can practice something by putting it into practice.ā ;)

oh i see. because she is purpur.
š³āš do you speak esperanto*?
i can communicate in it effectively and with ease in virtually any situation
i can more or less get by in most situations where i need to speak it
i recognize it and/or know some phrases but cannot communicate effectively in it
i've heard of it but i have no idea what it sounds like
i've never heard of this language
