This was the year I finally loved myself completely and started trusting my choices, judgment, and ability. It's certainly been a process and I've been making progress for the past few years, but this really tied everything together. I'm so excited to finally start focusing on exploring and discovering just exactly what it is that I enjoy and what it is I want more of in life, instead of focusing on becoming a person I could deal with. I spent my entire adolescence and a good part of my young adulthood missing out on life and just generally hating myself and feeling so good damn uncomfortable every single second. I can't even say every waking moment because fuck you if you think Freddy Kruger is confined to the television screen. This year, I finally became the person I loved reading about in fiction, the imaginary man I borrowed inspiration from throughout high school when I decorated my bedroom, painted my trim, talked to my teachers. I m a d e I t . I'm so excited to keep going. I've missed out on so much, and I'm not even mad, because I cannot wait to catch up. I'm not sprinting towards the finish line anymore; I'm enjoying the scenic route.
