I have a bit of catching up to do here.  Its late, so I’ll keep it short, lest I get a bit goofy.

I finished off my bracing and rough carved it.  Then glued it to the rims.

Once it was on, I used tap tuning software and carved the braces down till they felt and sounded right.  I still have no idea what to shoot for with the software, but I’m logging the info for the future.

Stuck a light behind the box.  The inspiration for the lamp I just made.

Then I closed up the box.  I used hot hide glue for attaching the tops and backs, which was a first.  I actually like it.  I clamped everything up and just loosened clamps and worked the glue under with a pallet knife in small sections.  

Two boxes were closed up.

Then I made a new fixture for routing binding.  Basically cut apart my last one and repurposed it in a few hours. Just worked from my head with no plans.  To make a long story short, the curvature of these backs needed a different set up.  This is my take on similar things I’ve seen, with my own twists of course.  I’ll explain more if anyone wants. It’s really not as complicated as it may look. Most people probably don’t know what the hell it is, why it needs to do what it does, nor care to.

Bottom line is, I made some accurate ledges.  Even on the radiused backs and into the cutaway.
