Ok fine here is my guide on how to sus out a potential victim, because y'all need to actually learn these skills rather than just relying on community info. Doing your own research and experiments are how you give BACK to the community.

Let's use a fake company. Greapes. They sell clothes, idk.

You wanna try to 🧬 from Greapes, but haven't seen anyone else post about them. What do you do now?

First, check refund policy. If you follow these directions, the absolute worst outcome is that you simply return your order. Are returns easy? Do they have a brick and mortar store? Also, Google "greapes + refund", check their trustpilot, you want to make sure you have a clean exit strategy.

Often, companies will have an official policy on their website ("we are not responsible for missing packages") but that's more so a legal protection. In practice, they may choose to refund as a courtesy because they understand good customer service is more important than occasionally refunding an order.

Second, go to reddit or tiktok and search "greapes missing order" "greapes missing items" "greapes damage" "greapes customer service" etc. this will give you an idea of how the company handles genuine errors.

Now, place your order. When it arrives? Don't touch it. Open it and LOOK at the items, if you must. Do not open anything sealed. Do not take off tags. These items do not belong to you yet. There is a chance you'll be returning them.

For companies I know nothing about, I stick with straightforward 🧬 or p3b. Damage is too risky. If anything starts giving you bad vibes? "OH MY GOSH NEVERMIND!! My neighbor had it! I'm so sorry to cause a fuss." Then wait a few days and return that shit.
