hi, i am the person who asked about the i-cybie remote before :D i was finally able to open it up and clean the corrosion inside like you said to. it still does not work, i would love some advice if you don’t mind:1. there is still some corrosion remaining (i attatched a picture, it’s located in the red circles) that i can not reach with a q-tip. how do you recommend getting in there? this is my first time repairing a remote and i can’t seem to find a working one of these anywhere for sale. so i am worried to break it.2. i had to drill through two of the screws due to them being stripped. i taped it shut as tight as i could to test it, is it maybe not working because i did not screw it shut? i’m nervous to put the screws back on until i’ve finally got it working, since the metal is so soft that i worry unscrewing them one more time could completely strip them.thanks!! :3

Right, so what we did was to unscrew the memory board from its’ base - the vital thing here is that you use a screwdriver of the right shape (A Phillips crosshead; I can’t remember the precise size we had used, as we have a multi-head driver) and to press down Firmly from above, making sure to insert it straight (i.e, not at an angle) - this will prevent your screw from stripping, as Cybie screws are notoriously buttery. Then you want to slowly tease the metal out with a pair of tweasers - then you can reach those pesky spots.
We have a stock of remotes in storage, but I can’t get to them until Octobor; if you cannot get it working come October, send another message in, and I’ll ship one out to you - I tend to sell my remotes privately for £10 + Shipping. We’ve usually got some in the Cybie community going around, so there’ll always be something to fall back on, fear not.
Is the Cybie unit otherwise operating normally?
