mansplain, manwhore and manipulate trio
hi
never not reblogging this
90% of Slaanesh fanart is just an attractive girl with horns.
It's very dull. Basic. Or in other words: is the opposite of slaaneshi.
Wheres the pincers? The long tongue? The Goat Snake Crustacean characteristics?
Slaanesh is not female. Slaanesh is not male. Slaanesh is all genders and none and reflects this physically.
Slaanesh's domain is excess and sensation and perfection. You think shem is going to wear a dull ass monocolour dress with a little cleavage?
This God would wear something ridiculously elaborate. That outfit would have layers on layers. Some probably made of living flesh. Yet it would somehow all work.
Now thats probably a bit much to draw to be fair.
But at least be more interesting than the boring fanservice dress you've put shem in.
The fact that a good portion of the warhammer community seems to honestly think mildly attractive mildly demonic anime girl is an accurate representation of She who Thirsts, The Prince of Excess and all shem's other titles is a damn shame.
Nurgle gets to be a pile of rot. Tzeentch an amorphous mass of body parts. Khorne an immense armored warrior covered in blood. All relatively accurate representations (they don't have physical forms but at least these reflect their domains and daemons well).
Slaaneshi fanart doesn't even look like a slaaneshi daemon. They don't even give shem the half male half female appearence all shem's daemons have.
Well, it is a franchise made by and for white guy nerds... It really is a shame how Slaanesh keeps getting reduced down to sex, drugs, and rock & roll. And then you get a lot of not really considered sexism too with how the only canonically she/her god gets contrasted with extremely Astartes-on-steriods masculine Khorne.
But, ok I only read Slaanesh lore through Emperor's Children books, but even in canon this only she/her Slaanesh isn't really canon, or I'm just to I doesn't care about my gender that I'm reading this totally wrong, but for me this heavily she/her Slaanesh is mostly fanmade.
In "Path of Heaven" for example is this
I mean Master, Mistress, for me this is again a I'm not any gender and at the same time every gender for me. And I thought I read, "...shifting from male to female too." but I doesn't found it.
And here in "Eidolon - The Auric Hammer" again Daemonettes.
This is far away from a she/her Slaanesh, Daemonettes.
Yes in "Lucius - The Flautless Blade" Direnc got seduced by a Daemonettes who uses a she/her illusion, but because he is hetero. For me it reads like that a lesbian woman would be tempted by a she/her Daemonette too. But because this is what they attracted to not because Slaanesh as she/her.
But I agreed I wish there would be a Slaanesh with more body horror in general, more he/him Slaanesh, but the she/her Slaanesh with real body horror too. The real alluring but repulsive at the same time.
Especially since so many, sadly this in canon too, Emperor's Children are in the ugly camp.
Slaanesh mostly has he/him as pronouns in both codices and on boxes. I've also read she/her and they/them in the books, but it's definitely not exclusively she.
And both Daemonettes and Keepers are described in a very disturbingly-beautiful, androgynous way.
Yes, I too am tired of cute-waifu-Russ-Meyer-tits-slaaneshi-demons.
You are trapped in an elevator with the person on your lockscreen. Who is it?

REBLOG THIS TO GIVE THE PERSON YOU REBLOGGED THIS FROM A GOLD STAR BECAUSE THEY’VE BEEN STELLAR TODAY AND THEY DESERVE IT ⭐️
Something that I think Warhammer 40,000 storytellers miss sometimes is the sheer scale of their setting. I mean, don't get me wrong - I love the big, dramatic clashes, the characters you can buy in mini form and their convoluted, interwoven lore, the dramatic combats against unstoppable foes across a thousand ruined worlds. But that's the top of the setting, as it were - the most powerful beings in the universe, all fighting for supremacy. And at ground level, the level of the ordinary person, are so many other stories.
Did you know that a Lunar-class void cruiser has a crew of 95,000? Nearly a hundred thousand people, aboard a spaceship five kilometers long. A city, flying through outer space to wage war. Many of those people are proper trained soldiers, fresh from some academy or veterans of long, grueling campaigns, and many more are pressed into service, begrudgingly laying their lives at their Emperor's feet. But, unless the ship is currently actively involved in a really bloody campaign, most of those people were born aboard that ship. Most of their parents were born aboard it. And their grandparents. And their great-grandparents. Lineages stretching back centuries, so far that the original soldier who came aboard has been forgotten. A lot of those people probably know, on some level, that they're aboard a ship flying through space - but a lot of them probably don't, and I guarantee you almost none of them understand what that means. This ship is their world. To look out the window means madness so often that they avoid it - not that windows are readily available anyway. Most of them probably barely even understand that they're fighting. All they know is that when the readouts on their analog instruments display like so, when they hurry to obey the blared orders through the klaxon, the Emperor is pleased with them. They were born into that world. When they were children they did smaller tasks the adults couldn't. Their entire existence was winding metal corridors, laid out according to some archaic design, any logic that might dictate their layout long since degraded after millennia of ignorant maintenance, lit only by emergency lights that have long since become the default. They learned how to read an angle readout or how to relay an order perfectly the way another child might learn history or math. When they grew up, their service was flawless, born of pride and ignorance, and when they grew old and died, their legacy was remembered until it was forgotten. Many were killed in battle, but who cares? They gave their lives to the Emperor - a name whose meaning they don't understand, but whose importance they believe in wholeheartedly, all but synonymous with the commanding officers up above.
Sometimes, the klaxons sound a specific command, and every person on board who understands what it means feels a deep, awful dread as they run to their battle stations. They don't know what a warp jump is. They don't understand they're going from one place to another by the fastest way available. All they know is that, for a time, the ship dips into hell. The corridors go wrong. Things and people might not be where or what they were before. Daemons stalk the halls, and must be killed by any who can hold a lasgun. The overcrowded berths, the little nooks that families find for themselves - they are not private anymore. They are not safe. Things drift through the shift that do not care about the laws of physics, but that delight in killing and torturing human beings. Vast energies shake the ship and tear parts of it away - their home, their world, their existence, the biggest thing they can imagine, assaulted by something bigger. Is it the Emperor's punishment for failure? Is this what battle is? What's going on? They don't know, and no one who does can be bothered to tell them. The dread of those who have seen this before is even worse, because they don't know how long it will be. It might be just a few hours. It might be days, or weeks, or months, or years, or decades. It might be centuries, as the captain of the ship goes hunting daemons deep in the warp - the officers live that long, after all, and have little care for those who don't. There will be people born in hell, who spend their entire lives fighting from the day they can stand, and who die in hell, as old age and need catch up to them and they curl up in a corner to perish. To them, it isn't even hell. It's just the world. The world is death and pain and cruelty, an infinite metal box through which monsters stalk, and sometimes you must run to a battle station and do as you're ordered to do. And sometimes, as they reach forty or fifty or even a ripe old sixty, the ship drops out of the Warp, and, for the final years of their life, they are granted a life of relatively safe service better than anything they ever hoped to dream of.
Those are the kinds of stories I want to see more of. Super-soldiers fighting each other is cool, yes, but I want to see this universe explored. I want stories from the perspective of those that keep the Imperium going, or the aeldar, or the tyranids, or anyone, really. There's just so much potential in this setting. It deserves it.
“Living weapon” covers a lot and all of it is hot
Rip Fulgrim, you would have HATED Ai "artist"
Fulgrim would fucking love AI art simply how for fast you can make it and the amount of it you can make. He would be sitting there trying to make the perfect prompt. He would be "fixing" other artist works with AI. And he would be happy about how much the use of it annoys real artists.
Great crusade Fulgrim is blinded by his pursuit of perfection to the point where his understanding of art is purely mechanical and practical. Because he isn't truly human, he is an imitation.
His art, AI or not, would be just as soulless as the sculptures he attempted to make of his captains aboard his flagship, where he killed remembrancer Ostian Delafour for his valid criticisms.
‘Great art isn’t about reason, it’s about what comes from the heart,’ said Ostian. ‘You can work with all the technical perfection in the galaxy, but if there’s no passion, then it is wasted effort.’ ‘There is such a thing as perfection,’ snapped Fulgrim, ‘and our purpose for living is to find that perfection and show it forth. Everything that limits us we have to put aside.’ Ostian shook his head, too caught up in his words to notice the primarch’s growing anger. ‘No, my lord, for the artist who aims at perfection in everything achieves it in nothing. It is the essence of being human that one does not seek perfection.’
That is my read on Fulgrim at least. Probably fucking wrong. I've rapidly lost all confidence in my logic. anyway.
I would disagree, I mean on Chemos he did the opposite from AI, he improved the factory machines and helped the average people to make art, to enjoy art and culture.
And I mean he even encouraged his sons, to do art themselves, even even though they are warriors in the first place.
Yes is is obsessed with perfection but at the same time he wants to achieve this perfection by work, by improving himself, by discipline, by being ambitous and not by doing it the easy way. Yes He would like the perfection part of AI but he will despise every AI artist, because they are just lazy.
For me I think he would wanted to know which words the AI people but in the searchbar and draw an even more perfect picture by himself. Just to proof them that AI is just crap for lazy people.
Yes, Fulgrim would hate AI-slop with a passion.
Because perfection is about fighting yourself to get better, while AI-"art" is as much art as ordering a sandwich at Subway is. It's not art to tell somebody to put stuff together you didn't create yourself. It's absolutely soulless and is just scraps stolen from perfectionists. That's so very antagonistic towards honing your skills like the EC do, it's grotesque.
It's also not about output quantity. It never is in the novels and it never is in real life.
You learn nothing from using AI. And therefore you are not getting better or closer to perfection.
Struggle is part of the learning process and part of the path to that unattainable perfection that finally pushed the Legion over the edge. You don't struggle if you are not pushing yourself and formulating prompts is too lazy and too predictable to cause growing pains.
By definition generative AI will always give you the most likely outcome. If you look at the Gaussian function, you can see where the most likely outcome resides: Smack in the middle of mediocrity.
And mediocrity is everything Fulgrim and his sons despise.
