Ryan McQuerry is going to show how to get all the fancy javascripty goodness you need for modern websites without leaving php by using Livewire — a component for Laravel that makes building dynamic interfaces simple and clear. He'll share how it works and what makes it nice for things like basic cruding and more.

This month Ron Northrip (@ronnorthrip) is going to talk about Laravel 8's new generators and scaffolding tools.

There has been a lot of confusion about the Laravel 8's new scaffolding tools. There are lots of options in part because the community is trying to adopt new and cool tech that could simplify your work. So we'll walk through them together and talk about what they deliver and why you might consider using this to start your next project.

This month Jason McCreary (@gonedark) is going to share how to jumpstart a Laravel application with Blueprint, an open source toolkit to rapidly build out a web app from a single YAML file. It's an amazing tool that leverages and extends the framework generates to fill in the basic bits for your architecture -- it even makes TESTS!

If you don't already know JMac, he's a developer with over 20 years of experience coding and sharing his expertise. His BaseCode Field Guide (https://basecodefieldguide.com) and associated podcast (https://basecodefieldguide.com/podcast/) are excellent resources for developers looking to level up their chops regardless of toolkit. He's also the make of Laravel Shift (https://laravelshift.com/), a tool for automatically updating legacy Laravel apps to the current version of the framework.

This is going to be a fantastic talk and an excellent opportunity to learn from one of the smartest developers around. Hope you can make it.

Infinite Industries (https://infinite.industries) works to promote art and culture in Lexington, Kentucky. It's a great place to learn about anything from a punk rock show to the latest gallery opening.

The infrastructure that powers Infinite Industries is being developed as an open source stack anyone can contribute to. We hope it can act as a back-end for anyone in Lexington with events to share and that the code base will be useful to other cities around the country.

In this talk, Dima Strakovsky, Chris Wininger and Matthew Gidcomb will discuss the technical underpinnings of the project as well as the organizational challenges of running an open source project. We'll discuss the choices we've made and the pros and cons found along the way.

Some Technologies Discussed Will Include: NodeJS • Vue • Nuxt • JavaScript

Samuel Fonseca is going to share his experience creating one application with two complete different approaches. He wrote a homebrew code app and then migrated (the code and his thinking) to a framework for a fuller and more consistent user experience.

Should be an interesting story. Come out and join us.

If you've never participated in an unconference the basic idea is that at a conference the attention is on the stage, at an unconference the attention is on the attendees. It reverses the arrangement and that's why its an 'un'-conference. In practice, what that means is that the most attendees bring a topic to share and register those topics in the morning while we're munching donuts and coffee. Then everyone votes on what they'd like to hear about and we follow the wisdom of the crowd (democracy in action, folks!). You're also very welcome to come and vote and listen and learn even if you're too shy to give a talk.

Chris Wininger is going to take us through Web Assembly, a new technology that is available in virtually all modern browsers. What can you do with it? How can you build for it? This talk will demonstrate the use of Rust to target we web assembly, showing how to get your development environment up and running. In addition I will demo some of what I've been cooking up with Web Assembly.

Justin Hall will be showing us Flutter -- a mobile app SDK for building high-performance, high-fidelity, apps for iOS and Android, from a single codebase. Learn to Flutter with an introduction, demonstration, and discussion about the SDK, Dart language, and development environment that enables developers to deliver high-performance apps that feel natural on different platforms.
