Hey can I please use your worried Beatrix sprite from your old Beatrix Sakamaki ask blog, please? I’ve started a new ask blog for her and would really appreciate if you gave me permission to use it. I’ll give credit!
Hey!
That expression isn't mine either. You should ask @the-mostdiabolik-of-lovers for permission to use it, but the other expressions are my drawings. ❤️
Small recap: In part 7 I mentioned that Orion will call Ukyo-sensei (the teacher) ウキョウ兄 while he will call Ukyo-san (the student) ウキョウ弟 — So he basically calls Ukyo-sensei the big brother and Ukyo-san the younger brother, but for the sake of translating, I want to keep it with -sensei and -san. Ukyo-san (other Ukyo) and Ukyo-sensei (normal Ukyo).
— 31st December
Sawa: Ahh, this year really flew by fast…
Mine: Right? ...It was over way too quickly.
Orion: Meanwhile, it's been a really tough year for you…
But I never thought you'd be celebrating the New Year with those two.
They came to check on you because they were worried about you staying in the dorm.
It's nice to know your parents are overseas, but it can get pretty lonely living by yourself here.
Sawa: Hey, Hey! When the new year rolls around, how about we all go to the shrine together?
Mine: It will be hard to go without permission, Sawa. Also, if we go, it will be crowded for sure...
Sawa: Uhh… I guess that makes sense… Although I wanted to try my luck with the lottery…
Orion: Hmm… The only thing we can do if we can't go is watch the New Year's show on TV…
Door bursts open
Ukyo: Hey! Everyone should have returned to their rooms and be sleeping by now!
Everyone: !!
Sawa: Uwah, Ukyo-sensei…!
Ukyo: Good grief… I knew someone was in here when I walked by, but it's you three...
Mine: But it's New Year, isn't it? And this is the only place with a TV too.
Sawa: Exactly! Plus, being alone on New Year's Eve is not fun!
Ukyo: Well, you're right… Many students, including Y/N, spend their New Year in the dorms, as their parents are overseas…
And to make it a bit better for those who have to spend it here… I made something special!
Mine: Something special…? What is it?
Ukyo: Fufufu. Well, you see… Oh, I only brought enough for two people… I should've brought more.
Everyone: ?
Ukyo: Umm… Why don't we all head to the cafeteria?
Place: Cafeteria
Ukyo: Alright, here are some freshly prepared New Year's Eve soba noodles~!
Mine: "Freshly prepared"...? Ukyo-sensei, do you mean you made these yourself? I had no idea you could make something like this.
Orion: She's right. It sounds more like something Ukyo-sensei would try to make but fail at...
Ukyo: Uh, yes… To tell the truth, I didn't really make these myself…
Well, anyway! I gave some to everyone in the dorms, so you should also have some!
Sawa: Yay! I was just starting to feel hungry. You guys must be too, right?
Mine: Yes… Since we're already here, let's have some.
Orion: Even though Ukyo-sensei made it, it does look pretty good... Why don't you try it too, Y/N?
Choices
1) Thanks for the meal!
2) Sensei, you're very skilled.
— Thanks for the meal!
Ukyo: Ah, wait! As a little special, I'll add some extra shrimp tempura, green onions, and kamaboko!
Admin note: Kamaboko is a traditional type of fish cake made from pureed white fish.
Orion: …That's a huge portion. Do you think you can eat all that…?
— Sensei, you're very skilled.
Ukyo: Eh? Err, I guess I somewhat, maybe, am…
Orion: …What's got him all nervous? Weird.
end Choices
Sawa: …Amazing! It's super chewy and delicious, Ukyo-sensei!
Ukyo: Really? That makes all the hard work I put into it worth it.
Orion: I didn't know Ukyo-sensei was that good at cooking…
Flashback
Y/N: (It took longer than I expected to organize all the library books…)
(I'm already way past my allowed time to be here; I need to leave quickly…)
Ukyo-san shows up
Ukyo: Hey, you. Wait a minute.
Y/N: Nn…!
(Ah, what? I was wondering who it is, and it's Ukyo-sensei…)
Ukyo: Ah… I assume you've been organizing the books up until now. You must be tired, right?
…Eat this then.
Y/N: These are…?
Ukyo: Cookies. I made a lot, so I'm giving them to you.
Y/N: You made these!?
Ukyo: Y-Yes. I'm pretty good at cooking, so this was no big deal.
Y/N: …..
Ukyo: W-What is it? Why did you get so quiet…?
Y/N: Err… You seemed a little different from how you usually act.
Ukyo: …Heh. How come?
Y/N: Umm… Well, you're not as "silly" as usual…
Ah! By "silly" I mean the kind of feeling where just looking at you makes people feel relaxed.
Ukyo: "Silly," huh? To put it another way, you think I'm scatterbrained.
Y/N: That's not it!
What I meant to say is that whenever people see you, they automatically feel comfortable…
And even if you're a teacher and an adult, I have the feeling as if I have to keep my eyes on you. The way you fall over all the time really leaves an impression, you know.
Ukyo: Ah, I see. Then let me correct myself. You don't think I'm scatterbrained; you think I'm an airhead?
Y/N: That's not what I meant either…!
Ukyo: To sum up what you just said, I'm a careless kid who's kind of dangerous to watch over, right?
Ukyo starts mumbling
Ukyo: There's really no hope out there for him, is there? It's about time I did something about it.
Y/N: Hm? Did you say something?
Ukyo: No, but you basically reaffirmed that there is nothing good about me.
Y/N: That's not true.
There are lots of students who say it's easy to talk about their worries when it's with you, Sensei.
And everyone can see that you really think about your students.
Ukyo: …I-I see. You… well, that guy… no, me… you must think really highly of me.
Y/N: I do. I mean, even now you gave me some cookies.
Ukyo: I…
Y/N: Obviously you're really kind, Sensei.
Ukyo: …..
Y/N: …Sensei?
Ukyo: Eh? A-Ah. I'll make you more cookies if you like them.
Y/N: Really?
Ukyo: Yes. If you want me to make something other than cookies, let me know… I'll make it for you.
Y/N: Sensei, you shouldn't say things like that.
Nothing else should ever be more important to you than your job as a teacher.
Ukyo: Teacher this, teacher that. I…
Y/N: …..?
Ukyo: …..
…Are you saying it would be fine if I wasn't your teacher?
Y/N: Eh?
Ukyo: We wouldn't have to deal with this problem if I wasn't. Once this position wouldn't be an issue anymore, I could take action more quickly than him…
Y/N: (...Him? Who is he talking about?)
Ukyo: …Alright. If that's the case, I'll talk to the headmaster.
You should go home now. The dorms aren't far away, but be cautious on your way at night.
Ukyo-san runs off
Y/N: Ah… Thanks for the cookies, Ukyo-sensei!
Flashback ends
Y/N: (This was a memory from last spring when I talked with Ukyo-sensei…)
Orion: If he was baking cookies back then, it looks like he’s got some serious cooking and baking skills.
Y/N: (Orion!? You're disappearing…!)
Orion: Ah… yes. After all, you've just remembered some of your memories.
Y/N: (Are you going to leave me now…?)
Orion: No, I won't disappear yet. But… when you regain all your memories, I will...
Y/N: (.....)
Orion: Don't make that face. Come on, it's almost New Year. If you start looking sad now, everyone will get worried.
Y/N: (You're right…)
Mine: Ah…! The countdown is starting!
Sawa: Eh!? Wait…!
Mine: 10, 9, 8, 7…
Ukyo: 6, 5, 4, 3…
Sawa: 2,1… 0!!
Happy New Year!
Mine: Happy New Year. Let's take good care of each other this year too.
Ukyo: Likewise, I look forward to working with you this year. Still, I have to say that it's kind of nice to spend New Year's with my students.
Sawa: Ukyo-sensei, did you also make some osechi ryori for the occasion?
Admin note: Osechi ryori is a special dish to celebrate the New Year.
Ukyo: Ah, Osechi ryori. I was planning on making some, but I didn't have enough time…
Y/N: (He was planning on making some… Although I have no right to be picky here…)
(I would've loved to have some…)
Choices
1) I would've loved to eat some.
2) Ozoni would've been nice too.
— I would've loved to eat some.
Ukyo: …I see. You would've loved to, huh…?
…..
I should've let him make it after all…
— Ozoni would've been nice too.
Ukyo: Ah, you're right. Just talking about it makes me want to eat it…
Both Osechi ryori and Ozoni... I wonder if he'll still make some…
Time skip
Sawa: Haa… I'm really stuffed right now and ready to sleep…
…..
Mine: Sawa, you shouldn't sleep in a place like this. If you want to sleep, at least go back to your room. Can you get up…?
Sawa: Mm, I'm good here…
…..
Mine: Geez… She fell asleep as soon as she mumbled this.
Ukyo: It'd be a shame to wake her again… My office is close by, so I'll lend her the bed as a special favor.
Mine: That's probably for the best. If we woke Sawa up now, I think she would be upset.
Choices
1) We should sleep there with her.
2) We can't leave her there alone.
— We should sleep there with her.
Mine: You're right… Could we also sleep there for the night, Ukyo-sensei?
— We can't leave her there alone.
Mine: …I thought the same. It's probably best if we stay with her.
end Choices
Ukyo: Alright, fine… But this is only for today, okay?
Mine: Thank you! Now that's out of the way, we need to take Sawa there. Please help us, Ukyo-sensei!
Ukyo: Yes, sure. I'll take care of it.
Place: Ukyo's office
Y/N: (...Hey, Orion.)
Orion: Can't sleep, Y/N? I can't blame you… Staying overnight at school isn't something you do every day.
Y/N: (That's one reason I can't sleep… Another is that I'm afraid you'll disappear…)
Orion: I see… Don't worry, I'm right here, by your side. You can go back to sleep.
Y/N: (Okay…)
Thud
Orion: …..!
Y/N: (What was that noise…?)
Orion: Looks like Ukyo left. I wonder where he's going at this time of night.
…Maybe he's cleaning the bowls you guys used earlier?
Y/N: (In that case, I want to help him…!)
Place: Hallway
Orion: Uhhh… I didn't think much of it before because everyone was with us until we got to Ukyo's office...
Y/N: (But it's really scary when the lights aren't on…)
Orion: Y-You're fine! I'm with you. But… it would be best if you could meet up with Ukyo as soon as possible.
Ukyo: Seriously… That idiot wanted to eat it and now wants me to make the other thing… What the hell is he thinking?
He kept telling me that New Year's soba was enough, even though I wanted to make this from the start.
I even went out of my way to change clothes. Try putting yourself in my shoes for once!
Orion: That sounds like… Ukyo-san, right? Did he also come to help at this hour?
Y/N: (Yeah, well, they are siblings, after all.)
(But I still want to offer my help as well…)
Ukyo: …… !
Orion: Ah, it really is Ukyo-san after all. Wait, but… Ukyo-sensei isn't even here.
Ukyo: …What are you doing here?
Choices
1) I'm here to help…
2) Where's Ukyo-sensei?
— I'm here to help…
Ukyo: …..
A woman shouldn't be wandering around here in the middle of the night. What if something happened to you?
Orion: W-What the… He doesn't have to say it like that.
He is kind of right about what he says, though... I guess.
— Where's Ukyo-sensei?
Ukyo: Hah? Are you ignoring my question? You've got a lot of nerve.
Orion: She was asking out of curiosity… No need to be so mean…
end Choices
Ukyo: …As you can see, I am clearly by myself… If you have business with him, you better wait at his office until morning comes.
Y/N: (Does that mean Ukyo-sensei went to go somewhere else…?)
(But what is Ukyo-san doing here then?)
Ukyo: …..
Y/N: (.....)
Ukyo: Hey, you. Why don't you go back to the office? You should catch some sleep.
Orion: T-Then what is he planning to do? Hah! He's not going to smash the plates to take out his frustration, right…!?
Y/N: (I hope not…)
(But I'm curious as to what he's trying to do here…)
Ukyo: …..
Y/N: (.....)
Ukyo: …Okay, I get it. You're more of a glutton than you seem.
Y/N: (Eh!? How did Ukyo-san come to that conclusion?)
Ukyo: Anyway, having more hands to help is always a good idea. Now, go wash your hands.
Y/N: (???)
Ukyo: What are you waiting for? Move!
Y/N: (Nn!!)
Orion: D-Don't be angry at her! I don't know what he wants either, but you probably should do what he says and wash your hands.
Ukyo: …That was fast. Are you sure you weren't cutting corners or doing it sloppily?
Orion: Why is he so picky about something as simple as washing hands…? What is he planning on doing?
Ukyo: Whatever. Okay, hands out.
Alright… Now that I've disinfected everything, you can help from here on out.
Orion: Ehh!? How did we end up in this situation!? I don't get it!
Ukyo: You'll be in charge of cutting the vegetables. Make sure to remove and discard anything that is not edible.
Y/N: (There are vegetable lines on the table now…! When did he—)
Ukyo: Geez, making soba alone was exhausting enough…
You better put in your best effort.
Y/N: (I don't get it at all, but I guess I have no choice...)
Time skip
Y/N: (...Huh?)
Orion: …Ah, good morning. Do you remember what happened yesterday?
You were helping Ukyo-san cook, but you ended up falling asleep halfway through.
He gave you his jacket and continued to cook even after you fell asleep…
Look, he made this amazing osechi ryori! And he even made some Ozoni in the pot over there.
He finished making everything a while ago, and then he just simply disappeared afterwards.
Y/N: (He made Osechi and Ozoni…?)
(It's almost like Ukyo-san knew I wanted to eat these…)
Sawa: Ah, there you are, Y/N! What's this!? Did you make all this yourself!?
Orion: Ah, well…
Mine: Sawa… Ah! Y/N! We looked for you when we woke up, but you weren't in the office.
Y/N: (They were looking for me?)
Orion: Yes, they were really worried for you. You should explain what happened…
Sawa: Look, Mine! Y/N was staying up all night making osechi ryori!
Mine: Woah… Amazing. Did you really make this all by yourself?
Y/N: (Eh!? No, Ukyo-san was actually…)
Sawa: Y/N… you knew I wanted to eat osechi ryori too, so you made this for us, right? Thank you so much!
Orion: Ah… It's kind of hard explaining the situation when she's so overjoyed…
Y/N: (Yes…)
Ukyo: Ah, Y/N… Are you okay? Aren't you tired?
Orion: …If anything, he's the sleepy one…
Since he asked if you were tired, I wonder if he knew we met Ukyo-san yesterday…?
Y/N: (Could be? Maybe he heard it from Ukyo-san directly?)
Sawa: Ah, there's even Ozoni here! How much are you gonna spoil me, Y/N?!
Mine: With this much, we could share some with the other students who are staying in the dorms too.
Ukyo: You're right. Since she's gone through the effort of making it, let's share the New Year's spirit with everyone!
Orion: …Maybe tell everyone that Ukyo-san made it when you're eating together.
Y/N: (I will. I'm sure everyone staying in the dorms will be happy about it too.)
(Thank you so much for making this, Ukyo-san…)
Place: Outside — Football Field
Orion: Our break just ended, and now there's a marathon… that's kinda brutal.
The principal of this school is pretty unreasonable as it is… and sometimes he comes off a bit military-like…
If someone had said this academy was actually a military training camp now, I wouldn't have been as shocked as I was at first.
Y/N: (Come on, Orion… Well, the principal definitely seems exceptional.)
Ukyo walks up
Ukyo: Good morning, Y/N. Thank goodness it's sunny today. A perfect day to run a marathon!
Y/N: (Ah, Ukyo-sensei…)
Orion: …Ukyo-sensei is always buzzing with energy. He'd totally fit in with the students...
Ukyo: I just heard about the marathon course… It's pretty long. Did you stretch enough?
Choices
1) All ready!
2) Not really…
— All ready!
Ukyo: Okay, good. Make sure to warm up, or you could get hurt.
— Not really…
Ukyo: "Not really," huh…? That won't do! Make sure to do your warm-up exercises properly. They help prevent injuries too!
end Choices
Orion: Wow, Ukyo-sensei actually acts like a teacher right now… though, well, he is a teacher.
Ukyo: Still… a marathon, huh? It kind of… stirs up nostalgia.
When I look at you students, I sometimes feel a little envious. You're so earnest and reckless in your efforts… trying with everything you've got.
There will be many things that don't turn out as planned, but in hindsight as an adult, they become good memories.
Remember, you're living such precious, irreplaceable moments, so make the most of each day.
…That's all. Consider this a piece of advice from a grown-up.
Orion: …..
Ukyo-sensei, what's gotten into you today? You're making so much sense; I don't even know what to say.
Ukyo: …Hey, do you hang out a lot with the guy in the school uniform?
Choices
1) We only talk sometimes.
2) I don't see him around that much.
— We only talk sometimes.
Ukyo: Hmm. So even though you're both students, you're not that close…
I thought you two saw each other frequently… looks like I was wrong.
— I don't see him around that much.
Ukyo: A-Ah, you're right. He doesn't come to school every day, does he?
Orion: Oh… really? Does that mean he's skipping school a lot?
end Choices
Ukyo: I was only wondering if you and him ever hang out, like when you made the New Year's dishes.
You see, he's kind of carefree… a student, but not exactly studentlike…
I know he's more reliable than me, but I can't help worrying.
Orion: Ukyo-sensei…. I suppose it's natural to be concerned about your family.
He might come off a little rough around the edges, but… he's actually quite the average guy, and… I feel like there's really nothing wrong with him.
Y/N: (Agree. He even came with me back to the dorm when I wasn't feeling well.)
(Now that I think about it… I don't think I've ever seen them together.)
Orion: Now that you mention it… you're right. If they're worrying about each other, then it doesn't seem like their relationship is that bad.
Ukyo: Y/N, if he ever does anything, don't hesitate to tell me, okay? I'll give him a good scolding then.
Choices
1) Ukyo-san's a good person.
2) No issues so far.
— Ukyo-san's a good person.
Ukyo: Ah, really…? A good person… him…?
Even when I asked other students about him, they said exactly what you did.
Looks like he's admired across all grades. That's great in its own way, but…
— No issues so far.
Ukyo: I see… He's managing well as a student, huh?
I guess that's the most important thing… but it's kind of complicated.
end Choices
Ukyo: You know… It makes me wish I could have sat at a desk next to you and been a "student" along with you.
For example, if I forgot my textbook, you would let me use yours… And even though I could see it without leaning in, I'd intentionally move my face closer...
…I really envy him for being able to do that.
If I was a student, Y/N…
…..
No… I've got my job as the school doctor, so I can't just say things like that.
Orion: Ukyo-sensei… he seems somewhat lonely. Maybe being a teacher is tough too…
Y/N: (It's probably especially tough since more students get sick during exam season.)
(But… imagining if Ukyo-sensei was a student…)
(I think we could have a lot of fun together.)
Ukyo: …So, Y/N… Um, is there someone you like?
Y/N: (Eh!?)
Orion: S-Someone she likes!? He's asking you something so serious all of a sudden…?
You still haven't recovered all your memories yet… but you have to respond somehow…
Choices
1) …That's a secret.
2) How about it?
— …That's a secret.
Ukyo: S-Secret!? Y-You mean… it's a secret even if there's someone?! Really!?
Orion: H-Hey, calm down! You're taking Y/N's words way too seriously!
Ukyo: ……
…Yeah, that makes sense. You're young. It wouldn't be odd to have a crush on one, two, or even three people…
Orion: No, I think it's an issue if there's more than one.
— How about it?
Ukyo: The fact that you're being vague… means there really is someone you like…
Ah, you don't have to tell me! I mean, I did ask, but I'm too scared to hear it!
Orion: He shouldn't have asked then…
end Choices
Ukyo: Sorry for prying like that. Just forget… I asked.
Orion: Even if you tell her that… it's not like she can just say, "Okay, I'll forget it"…
Ah, that's the call to gather. Y/N, we'd better start moving.
Ukyo: …I'll be on the field in case anyone gets hurt… give it your all.
Orion: Hmm, I'm worried about Ukyo-sensei, but right now, focusing on the marathon is best.
Y/N: (Yes…)
Time skip
Orion: Hang in there, Y/N! We're almost at the goal!
You're moving pretty quickly. Your pace hasn't dropped; if you keep it up…
Y/N: (Ah…!)
Y/N falls over
Orion: Y/N! Are you okay?
Ah…! Your knee is scraped. This is just the moment for Ukyo—
Ukyo: Y/N!! Why'd you fall right before the goal? Get it together!
Orion: Ukyo-sensei…? No, this harsh way of speaking… is it Ukyo-san?
Ukyo: Isn't it just a scraped knee? You didn't sprain your ankle or anything, did you?
Choices
1) I'm alright.
2) I was so close to the goal…
— I'm alright.
Ukyo: …I see. Seriously, tripping over nothing… you're the same as him, aren't you?
Orion: The "him" he's talking about is Ukyo-sensei, isn't it…? I don't think I can argue with that right now…
— I was so close to the goal…
Ukyo: …..
People are worrying about you here, and all you can think about is finishing the marathon…?
end Choices
Ukyo: The injury doesn't seem serious, so get to the goal. I'll take care of you after.
Orion: He's right. You've worked hard to reach this point… Don't rush; just take your time!
Place: Ukyo's office
Ukyo: …Alright, that works. Not much blood, so it'll heal in no time.
Orion: Ukyo-san… despite being blunt, he treated you efficiently and carefully.
Choices
1) Thank you.
2) I'm glad you were there.
— Thank you.
Ukyo: It's no big deal… anyone could take care of a scrape like this.
…No need to make a huge deal out of it.
— I'm glad you were there.
Ukyo: Nn…!
Y-You're always making a big deal out of everything. It's not like you got seriously injured or anything.
…Hearing you say that doesn't exactly feel bad, though.
end Choices
Orion: Even so… where did Ukyo-sensei go? He said he'd be on standby at the field…
Perhaps something urgent came up? That could be why he left it to Ukyo-san.
Ukyo: …..
You were talking about me to him, weren't you?
Orion: Oh… he heard that? That means Ukyo-san was close by too.
Ukyo: He seemed to… care about me even more than usual.
I thought he was just putting things off and never going to do anything, but it looks like the effects are starting to show.
Y/N: (Effects…? What is he talking about?)
Ukyo: …I never told you this, but there's a reason I stayed here as a student.
There's a guy I know… a really sissy type, you know.
He's not a bad guy, but he's the type who worries about appearances and that kind of stuff… and honestly, it pisses me off just watching him.
Which is why… I decided to help him get to the point where he could take action on his own.
No matter what I said, it didn't get through to him… So I figured even he'd start moving if he felt a sense of danger.
With that in mind, I did what he had been holding back from doing.
Ukyo: And sure enough, after finding out, he seemed to realize he had to do something. He finally got off his lazy butt.
With that, my job here is finished.
Even so, for you, it's probably total nonsense I'm saying right now.
Well, I wasn't planning to meet you like this either.
But seeing you trip in front of me… I couldn't help but come out.
However… this will be the last time I meet you like this.
Y/N: (The last…? Does that mean we won't see each other anymore…?)
Choices
1) Are you going somewhere?
2) You can't stay?
— Are you going somewhere?
Ukyo: Yeah, more or less. I only had a limited time I could be a student, to begin with.
Though it wasn't my true role, I could enjoy student life somewhat. This seems like the right moment to move on.
— You can't stay?
Ukyo: That won't do. I'm a kind of catalyst, and once my job is done, I should disappear quickly.
That's what I decided from the start. So there's no way I can go back on it now.
end Choices
Ukyo: Anyway… I'm out of here. Next time you get sick or hurt, let him take care of you.
…Take care.
Orion: Ukyo-san's… really gone now, huh?
Y/N: (.....)
(I… still can't remember anything about Ukyo-san.)
(When I first met him in October, it felt like Ukyo-san knew who I was.)
(There should be some memories with Ukyo-san… and yet I can't remember any.)
Flashback
Ukyo: Hey, quit spacing out. I'll give you a piggyback.
Alright… Now that I've disinfected everything, you can help from here on out.
Y/N!! Why'd you fall right before the goal? Get it together!
Flashback ends
Y/N: (Now that I think about it… Ukyo-san always looked out for me.)
(Maybe… the same kind of thing happened before I lost my memories…)
Flashback
Ukyo: Ah… I assume you've been organizing the books up until now. You must be tired, right?
…Eat this then.
Flashback ends
Y/N: (Huh…? Why is a memory of Ukyo-sensei coming back to me now too?)
(.....)
(Ah… the way Sensei was back then was similar to Ukyo-san; that's why.)
(But… back then I called him "Sensei," and he didn't correct me.)
(That should've been the teacher, though…)
(But… why? The image of sensei back then and Ukyo-san now seemed to merge.)
(Could it be… that Ukyo-san was wearing a lab coat, just like now…?)
(If that's right, then the one who gave me cookies back then must've been…)
Orion: Y/N if what you have in mind is true, then we've only got one way to confirm it.
Y/N: (But Ukyo-san is already…)
Orion: Even if you can't ask Ukyo-san, there's still one person you can go to, right?
Y/N: (...Ukyo-sensei.)
Orion: Yes, was it Ukyo-sensei who gave you the cookies back then, or was it someone else?
Y/N: (If Sensei and Ukyo-san are really related, he should know him better than anyone.)
(There has to be a reason why he suddenly said this would be the last time we meet.)
(I need to know…!)
Place: Outside — Football Field
Orion: Ukyo-sensei isn't here… He's usually in the infirmary, so if he's not here either, I don't know where he could be.
Y/N: (I thought maybe he had just stepped away from his desk for a bit, and he would already be back by now…)
(…But if he's not here either, where else could Ukyo-sensei possibly be…?)
(I… don't know much about Ukyo-san, and I don't know Ukyo-sensei well either.)
Orion: Unlike Shin and Toma, he's a teacher, after all. It's only natural that you don't know much about him.
Y/N: (I guess…)
Place: Outside — School
Y/N: (Maybe I should head back to school and try looking around the campus again…)
Orion: …Ah! Hey, didn't someone walk toward the rose garden just now?
I only saw their back, but they had a lab coat on!
Y/N: (Ukyo-sensei? Or maybe it was Ukyo-san…?)
(I need to follow them!)
Place: Rose Garden
Y/N: (Ah, there he is!)
Choices
1) Ukyo-sensei!
2) Ukyo-san!
— Ukyo-sensei!
Ukyo: Nn! Ah, Y/N… You startled me by calling out all of a sudden!
Y/N: (Based on his response... it really is Ukyo-sensei, isn't it?)
— Ukyo-san!
Ukyo: Eh!? Ah, Y/N… You surprised me because you didn't call me "Sensei" like you usually do.
Y/N: (Ah… It wasn't Ukyo-san but Ukyo-sensei instead…)
end Choices
Ukyo: …Huh? Did you… injure your foot?
Did you maybe fall during the marathon? I'm sorry, I told you I'd be waiting on the field, but…
What was I doing at a time like this…? I assume he's the one who handled the injury then, right?
Even though I'm a teacher… I can't ever show my best self when I'm with you.
Even the way we met... I can't help but think it was kind of pathetic.
Y/N: (The first time we met…)
Ukyo: Whenever I see that fountain, it always makes me think back to that time.
Y/N: (Fountain…?)
(Ah…!)
Flashback
Y/N: (Finally, the entrance ceremony is over.)
(Not many students came from the same middle school as me…)
(Having Toma here is comforting, but I have to make new friends as well.)
(But I'm so nervous to talk to anyone. What should I say to break the ice...?)
Ukyo: Move! Move out of the way!!
Y/N: Nn!?
(...He's wearing a lab coat… Does that mean he's a teacher here?)
(It looks like he's chasing after a paper that was blown away by the wind…)
Ukyo: I got it… Waahhh!?
Y/N: ….. !
(Did he fall into the fountain!? Although it's warm today, he'll definitely get sick if he stays in there.)
(He jumped in with so much force too... He could be injured…)
Ukyo: Brr, it's freezing... Achoo!
Y/N: (Just as I thought. He needs at least something to wipe the water off…)
(...I only have a handkerchief, but I guess this will have to do…)
E-Excuse me…!
Ukyo: Ah... Um... are you a new student? Sorry, I didn't mean to surprise you.
Y/N: Don't worry… Please use this.
Ukyo: A handkerchief...? No, it's okay. If I go back to my office, I can get a towel... Achoo!
Y/N: Well then, excuse me…
Ukyo: Eh…?
Y/N: This isn't enough to dry you properly, but it will at least dry your face a bit...
Ukyo: …..
Y/N: Um, are you okay...?
Ukyo: Ngh!? Y-Yes… I left the window open, and this paper got blown away.
I thought I had it, but I guess I didn't...
Y/N: No, not the paper, I mean... Did you hurt yourself?
Ukyo: …I appreciate your concern, but don't worry about me.
Y/N: Of course I'm worried! What if you got hurt...?
Ukyo: ….. !
Y/N: Besides, if a teacher were to catch a cold, their students would definitely be sad, no?
So please make sure to look after yourself.
Ukyo: Y-Yes… you're right. I haven't been very aware of my role as a teacher…
Y/N: Ah... I'm so sorry; I didn't mean to sound arrogant.
Ukyo: Don't worry. Because I have a habit of not valuing myself much… I often fall into thoughts like I did just now.
But... you're right. I have students who depend on me, so I really need to change the way I think.
Thanks. Um... would you mind telling me your name?
Y/N: Sure, my name is—
Flashback ends
Orion: …Looks like what Ukyo-sensei meant was about the memories you regained just now.
Y/N: (Orion!? Where are you…? I can't see you anymore.)
(You said the next time I'd remember something you'd disappear… Don't tell me, Orion…)
Ukyo: Y/N…? You seem distracted. Is everything okay?
Y/N: Ah, um…
Choices
1) I've been remembering what happened back then too...
2) You haven't changed a bit since then.
— I've been remembering what happened back then too...
Ukyo: Eh!? I-I see, so you do remember it… it's kind of embarrassing, but it also makes me happy at the same time.
To think I'd be scolded by a new student… I'm an adult and a teacher, and yet… what was I doing…?
— You haven't changed a bit since then.
Ukyo: Ehh, that's not true! At least, I haven't fallen into the fountain since then!
I do trip sometimes, though…
end Choices
Ukyo: I… was deeply touched by the words you spoke to me at that time.
Besides, you were the first among everyone present to extend your hand to me.
The other students just see me like that and ignore it, like it's nothing out of the ordinary.
It's just how humans are; they change over time...
I really hope that side of you stays the same forever.
Orion: I hope so too…
Y/N: (Orion…! That's a relief! I thought you disappeared, and I got really worried.)
Orion: I'm sorry. Since this is the last time, I did my best to summon all my energy.

Y/N: (I put a lot of thought into what to make for Shin today, and I figured a fondant au chocolat would be the best choice.…)
(I already bought the ingredients, so all that's left to do is make it in the kitchen.)
(I usually give Shin and Toma the same Valentine's Day present, but this year it will be different.)
(This time, it's not just any chocolate. This time… it will be a confession.)
Shin: Ah…
Y/N: S-Shin!?
Shin: Why are you surprised to find me here?
Y/N: Uhh, because…
(I can't tell him that it's because I didn't mean to run into the person I plan to give this to…!)
Shin: That bag… Did you go out shopping? It looks heavy. If you want, I can carry it part of the way.
Y/N: N-No, I'm fine.
Shin: …Kinda weird for you to be modest, no?
Y/N: You make it sound as if I'm always the opposite with you, Shin.
Shin: That's because it's true. Like when you took the strawberry off my cake when I wasn't looking…
Y/N: I-Isn't that… a story from when we were little?
Shin: Not when the last thing I was looking forward to eating for lunch recently got snagged by you as well.
Y/N: …But that's because your lunches always look so delicious; it's not fair.
Shin: What kinda logic is that?
Y/N: Anyway, this bag has important things in it, so I'll carry it myself.
Shin: …Important things, huh? Sounds like you went out shopping for Valentine's Day or something.
Y/N: !!
Shin: Bullseye, huh?
Y/N: …I wouldn't say that.
Shin: No point in trying to cover it up now. You always make some chocolate for Toma and me that day.
Ah, or is it… that you want to make chocolate for someone special this year?
Y/N: Ngh! T-There's no way I'd do that… right?
Shin: …..
Y/N: (...What do I do now!? I was caught off guard by him asking that… It's probably written all over my face…!)
Shin: I was kinda joking, but… are you really?
Y/N: (Now I've done it… I didn't want Shin to know this.)
Shin: Who are you planning to give this to? Do I know this guy?
Y/N: See? That's why I didn't want to tell you.
Shin: Then what were you surprised about earlier?
Y/N: That was because…
(I can't come up with any excuse that would make Shin believe me...)
Shin: …Don't tell me. Is it for Toma?
Y/N: Huh…? Why would you think that?
Shin: Why? Because I thought Toma was the most likely guy you'd fall for.
Y/N: (...But I fell for you, Shin.)
(Why would he… not even consider that this might be for him?)
(If he doesn't even consider it… does he really only see me as a childhood friend?)
(Then, even if I confessed…)
Shin: …H-Hey. Why are you about to cry?
Y/N: …It's nothing.
Shin: It can't be nothing… Did what I say upset you?
Y/N: It's nothing, really. Don't worry about it.
Shin: …Don't be like that.
With that look on your face… How can I not be worried?
Y/N: …Because we're childhood friends?
Whenever I cried back then, you were always there to comfort me too.
Shin: …No.
Y/N: Eh…?
Shin: This has nothing to do with whether or not we're childhood friends. It's because, I…
It's obvious I'd be curious if you'd give chocolate to someone else, and if you were about to cry, I'd want to be there for you too.
…Even though I'm sure you'd rather have this other person with you than me.
Y/N: (He sounds… sort of like me.)
Mine: Hm…? Y/N and Shin? What are you two doing here?
Shin & Y/N: M-Mine…!
Shin steps back
Mine: Umm… I'm sorry, did I interrupt something?
Y/N: N-Not at all. Right, Shin?
Shin: Y-Yes. We were just chatting a little.
Mine: I see… Good to know.
Y/N: Err… Let's go back to the dorms then.
Shin: …Yeah.
Mine: Y/N, please listen first. I was on duty today, and there were a lot of books returned, and it was super awful!
Y/N: I-Is that so…?
(...What did he mean by that?)
(If he doesn't think of me as a childhood friend, then maybe…)
(...I really hope that's true, but I'm afraid my hopes might get crushed.)
(I'm not sure… if I can confess my feelings in this state tomorrow...)
— Next Day
Y/N: (Although I cooked the first one too long and burned some of the chocolate…)
(It's a good thing I brought extra ingredients. Now I can give Shin a perfect one.)
(But… I'm really nervous…)
(What expression would Shin make if I told him I liked him?)
(...Huh? It's Shin... I thought he'd be in his clubroom at this time.)
(And the person he's with… is the same girl from before, right?)
(Ah…)
(It looks like she's giving him some chocolate…)
(...Right. I'm not the only one who's giving Shin chocolate today…)
(But…)
Y/N runs off
Y/N: (They spent a lot of time together… and maybe she likes Shin as well.)
(Maybe she even confessed her feelings already.)
(.....)
(...I shouldn't have imagined it. I have no right to intervene in his personal life.)
Shin: Y/N!
Y/N: Ngh! Shin…
Shin: I thought I saw someone I knew running by… and it really was you.
Y/N: Why… What about that girl?
Shin: …I didn't accept it.
Y/N: Eh…?
Shin: I didn't want to lead someone on when I don't really care about them. That would be awful of me.
That's why I usually say no to every offer. I think by doing that they might be able to change their feelings for me.
…Now, why were you running away?
Y/N: Because… I…
Shin: …What are you trying to hide behind your back?
Y/N: (Uh… I should've hidden it earlier.)
(It'd be weird not to give it to him now… I might as well just hand it over.)
Here, Shin.
This is… fondant au chocolat. I made it because I thought you might like it.
Shin: …..
Y/N: But, um… if you don't want it, I'll eat it myself.
Shin blushes
Shin: …I never said I didn't want it. I'll accept it.
Y/N: You accept it…?
Shin: If you went out of your way to make it, the least I can do is eat it. Why are you acting so nervous about it?
Just like the other day, you're acting super nervous… It's like…
Y/N: …..
Shin blushes
Shin: …..
Hey, say something. You're making this awkward.
Y/N: I-I'm not sure what to say…
Shin: What are you getting at? If you're being vague… it throws me off as well.
…Is it really okay for me to have this?
Y/N: …Yes.
Shin: Thanks. Did you give Toma something too?
Y/N: I did, but… it wasn't fondant au chocolat.
Shin: Heh. Didn't you always give Toma and me the same thing on Valentine's Day, though?
Y/N: I did, but it's different this time. This time it's… well, more special…
Shin: You mean the ingredients you went shopping for yesterday were for this…?
Y/N: Y-Yes…
Shin: …..
I guess… I wasn't totally wrong with my assumption yesterday then.
I was kinda worried it was just my own ego, so I never brought it up…
But what do you see me as right now?
Y/N: (...Shin's shaking.)
(Perhaps Shin and I really do feel the same way…)
(And maybe we're both stuck and afraid to move on...)
Shin, you're… so much stronger than I thought.
Instead of dwelling on what had happened with your father, you began to think about your own future and make an effort to change it.
That's a strength I don't have… Even if I used to walk ahead of you.
And before I even realized it… you took my spot and became more grown-up than I am now.
Even though we've always been together up until now, you seemed different all of a sudden.
Shin: Have I… really changed that much? I guess I never noticed…
Y/N: You have. Which is why… I can no longer see you as my childhood friend or even my younger brother.
To be honest, I've been thinking a lot about the fact that we are a year apart.
I started to feel uneasy, especially when I saw you with that girl from your class.
And just now… I thought, maybe that girl likes you, Shin…
Shin: …So, you were jealous?
Y/N: Eh!? Ah… Hm, maybe.
Shin: …You don't know?
Y/N: …I had a bunch of thoughts running through my head at that moment; I didn't think about that!
Shin: Hmm. You were so caught up in thinking about me that you didn't even notice you were feeling jealous?
Y/N: …Yes.
Shin: …Ngh! Don't admit it like that, idiot.
Y/N: Idiot, huh…? But I agreed because it's the truth.
Shin: I get that, but…
Ah, shit! I'm not used to this sort of vibe.
Even after all this time, you still acted like I was a kid until just recently…
At one point I thought that if I told you I was in love with you, you might not even believe me.
How can it be…? That your head is full of thoughts of me now…
I mean, I feel the same… No, I was always interested in you…
To put it simply, I've had feelings for you this whole time…!
Y/N: …..!
Shin: Whenever I found myself in a tough spot or felt a bit lost, you were always there to have my back.
If you ever encountered difficulties that you couldn't handle on your own, I wanted to be there to support you too.
I began to think more and more that I wanted you to rely on me more than you did on Toma.
What I'm trying to say is… I've loved you for a long time.
Y/N: …I never knew you felt that way about me.
Maybe that's because I needed you to tell me directly.
Shin: Just because we're together a lot doesn't mean we know everything about one another.
Y/N: (...Now that Shin confessed to his feelings, it's my turn.)
(I don't have to hide my feelings anymore; I can just honestly tell him how I feel.)
Shin, I…
I love you too, Shin.
I want to be Shin's closest supporter as he works hard to achieve his dream.
Shin: …My closest supporter, huh…?
Y/N: Ah, but you think I'm unreliable, right? I know I might not be able to help you with your studies…
But, like today, I can bake sweets, and we can... take a break together then…!
Shin: Calm down, I never thought you were unreliable.
Rather… I'm happy.
Y/N: Eh? Did you just say that you're happy?
Shin: …How could I not be happy to hear that the person I like would support me?
Y/N: R-Right.
(I still can't believe he said he likes me.)
(It feels like there's a fidgety, ticklish sensation rushing through my body when I hear it…)
(Maybe if he keeps saying it, I might get used to it someday…?)
Shin: Y/N.
Y/N: Yes?
Shin: From now on, I don't want you to space out in front of me anymore.
…Especially if we can do things like lovers now.
Y/N: W-What do lovers do…?
Shin: …Your face is bright red, y'know?
Y/N: That's because you're saying weird things!
Shin: It's fun to tease you, so who's really at fault here?
Y/N: (...Shin's still the same as always.)
(Even if it might be frustrating, I like this side of Shin too.)
(I don't have to pretend anymore; I can be completely myself in front of Shin now…)
(I hope he feels the same way.)
— March
Monologue
Since confessing our feelings, Shin and I have been having lunch together and hanging out on our days off—
Even though we're still doing the same things as before, I feel strange around Shin; this could be because we're dating now.
But… Shin, on the other hand, acts completely normal.
Although, we were both embarrassed when we confessed.
Whenever he touches my hand or looks into my eyes, I can't help but wonder if I'm getting overly excited.
I guess you could say that me becoming concerned about things like this indicates that Shin and I are truly in a relationship now.
But Shin seems like… he's not even aware of how I feel, which is a little… frustrating.
Place: Classroom
Sawa: Haa, why do we have tests right before our break...?
Toma: Sawa, that answer is wrong. You've made the same mistake before, right?
Sawa: Uhh… Help me, Y/N. I can't keep up with Professor Toma's satanic lesson anymore…
Toma: Come on, compared to Kent, I am at least kind, right?
Sawa: You are, but you two are similar in the way that neither of you accepts compromises…
…Y/N, you've been lost in thoughts this entire time. Did something happen?
Y/N: Huh!? Ah, sorry. I guess I was spacing out a bit…
I'm sorry, Toma, even though you came here to help me with my studies too.
Toma: Don't be. You only have problems with putting it into practice; otherwise, you've got the basics down.
Sawa: …I see. Meanwhile, I'm struggling even with the basics...
Toma: Don't get discouraged. You understand it better now than you did at first, right?
Sawa: Yes, yes. At first I couldn't even sleep without thinking about our lessons!
Toma: I hope that's an exaggeration… You just need to go over it a few more times before it really sinks in.
Sawa: Thank you, Toma…! I'll try my best!
Toma: Now, try solving this problem. Let me know if you came up with an answer.
Sawa: Okay.
Toma: …Also, Y/N, come with me for a second.
Y/N: Eh…?
Place: Hallway
Toma: …Whenever Sawa loses her concentration, if I motivate her like this, she recovers quickly.
Then the reason you can't focus on your studies must be... Shin, right?
Y/N: H-How did you know!?
Toma: Well, I kind of sensed it. Because we'd known each other for so long, I knew right away that you started dating Shin.
That's better than falling in love with a stranger, at least.
Y/N: Am I… this easy to read?
Toma: It merely proves how honest you are. Now, if you ever need advice on anything, I'm here to help, okay?
Y/N: (Advice, huh…?)
(Maybe it's a good idea to ask another guy what Shin could be thinking.…)
(Also, I think Toma is the only person I can ask this question of…)
…You see. Do you think it's normal for a guy's heart to stop racing that much after he starts dating someone?
Toma: …I would say it depends on the person. Is this about Shin?
Y/N: Yes… He's been the same as always since we got together.
Toma: Hmm… the same as always, huh? I think Shin's the kind of guy who tries to play it cool in moments like these…
Y/N: What do you mean by that?
Toma: Hm? I honestly believe Shin is far easier to understand than you might think.
Y/N: ?
Shin walks up
Shin: Y/N.
Y/N: Ah, Shin…
Shin: …Did you two talk about something important?
Toma: Yes, we were planning to go somewhere together for the first time in a while during the upcoming break.
Y/N: (Eh? Toma…?)
Toma: We decided it would be fun to go to an amusement park and maybe even spend the night there.
Shin: Huh? Why would she want to stay there overnight?
Toma: Why? Because it sounds like fun.
Shin: It doesn't. I won't let her go, especially not with you, Toma.
Shin blushes
Shin: After all… she's my girlfriend now.
Y/N: (G-Girlfriend… That's the first time he's said that to someone.)
(Shin's face is super red too…)
Toma: …There you have it, Y/N. He's way easier to understand than you thought, right?
Shin's self-control has improved since the incident with his father.
Back then, he was much more greedy. Whenever he wanted something, he made it abundantly clear by saying it aloud.
…And to be completely honest, I was envious about that, Shin.
Shin: …You never said what you wanted, but somehow you always managed to get your way in the end anyway.
Toma: There's one exception, though.
Shin: …And I'm not going to let you have that.
Toma: …I have no intention of stealing it, either. But things would be different if it weren't for you, Shin.
Shin: I'm not gullible enough to buy into what you're saying.
Toma: There's no reason to doubt my words. I am… really rooting for you two.
Shin: We don't need your support. We can handle this ourselves, you'll see.
Let's go, Y/N.
Y/N: Eh!? Ah… Okay!
They run away
Toma: Those two… really got together in the end, huh?
…..
But if this is what makes both of them happy, I suppose I should get used to it...
Place: Outside — Rose Garden
Y/N: S-Shin… H-How far are we running?
Shin: …..!
Sorry, I just kept going...
Y/N: No, it's fine… Don't worry.
Shin: …..
Y/N: …..
Shin & Y/N: Um…
Y/N: Y-Yes?
Shin: You first… Y/N.
Y/N: No, you started before me.
Shin: Come on, you first.
Y/N: Okay, okay. Earlier…
Toma said that we were making plans to go somewhere together... That was a lie.
Shin: A lie…?
Y/N: Yes. Ah, but… I think he said that to help me.
Whenever we're together these days, it feels like you're just the same as before, so I thought I'd ask Toma what he thinks about it.
Shin: So, what you're saying is you set me up…
Y/N: …I'm sorry.
Shin: Just to make sure I got this, you're saying you feel like I don't show that I like you?
There's no way you're this dense. Do you even know how much I really like you?
Y/N: …Nn!
Y/N: S-Shin! T-Too close…
Shin: We're dating; isn't this normal then?
Besides, I warned you before that we'd do what lovers normally do from now on.
Y/N: Y-Yes, you did…
Shin: …Don't worry, though. This is as far as I'll go for now.
Y/N: Eh…? Um… it's not like… I don't want to do stuff like this with you, Shin…
Shin: …You're usually super shy about things like this; I didn't think you had a bold side too.
Right now, though, I'm happy simply feeling your warmth like this.
Because I'm the only one who gets to touch you like this, you know?
Y/N: …Yes.
Shin: …Maybe praying to God isn't something that should be taken lightly after all.
Y/N: Praying to God…?
Shin: …True, I haven't told you yet. When we all went to the shrine together, I was praying for—
That even when I become an adult from now on…
I want a future where you, Y/N, are by my side. Not as a childhood friend, but as my lover.
Y/N: ….. !
Shin: But no matter how much I wanted this, it all depends on how you feel.
...I know I'm younger than you, and that can't be changed.
However, I love you so much that I don't care... All I want is to be able to support you.
To do that, I need to be able to accept my father to a certain point... and talk to other people.
I knew what I had to do. If not, I wouldn't be able to hope for a future with Y/N.
Y/N: Shin…
Then… I'll also do my best for Shin.
I know you're pretty hard on yourself, so you hardly ever complain.
But you can tell me anything. I'll accept it all!
Shin: …Forever, from now on?
Y/N: Yes, forever.
Ah… The word "forever" reminds me. Hey Shin, have you heard the rumor about the rose garden?
Shin: Rumor? Ah, now that I think about it. I think I've heard of one before. If you confess to someone in the rose garden in front of a special rose...
Y/N: They will be together forever.
Shin: …I bet some people started dating because of that rumor.
Y/N: But we just talked about our future together, right?
Maybe… the roses heard us and will grant our wish.
Shin: Forever, right…? That means… you can't look at anyone else anymore, y'know?
Y/N: Doesn't the same go for you too, Shin?
Shin: That's no problem with me. I've always only had eyes for you from the beginning anyways.
Y/N: H-Here you go again…!
Shin: It's true, there's no sugarcoating that. All I've ever wanted is you, Y/N.
You know us; we'll likely just keep bickering and then patching things up again and again.
Y/N: Fufu, probably.
Shin: However…
My feelings for you will never change, Y/N, no matter what.
Orion: I didn't expect you'd need to sort all these books this early in the new year.
It's very nice that Toma and Shin even finished up their club activities early to lend you a hand...
Hmm, this is the only magazine that looks tarnished out of all the ones we sorted, right?
Shin: Y/N, this one's also ready to go… Ah!
The music magazine over there… Can I have a look at it?
Shin opens the magazine
Shin: I knew it… I've always wanted to check out this feature on the issue.
Orion: …An indie band special? Shin plays bass, so I'm curious if he's getting inspired by stuff like this…?
Shin: This band's indie, which means they're not super famous.
But I really think they've got the talent, and once they drop their major debut, they're gonna blow up for sure.
Orion: Out of nowhere, Shin's eyes light up like crazy. He's definitely a big fan of this band…
Shin: Are you gonna get rid of this magazine? If that's the case, I'd totally love to have it.
Orion: Uhh… is there a rule that says books that are no longer in their prime can't be picked up by anyone who wants them?
He wants it really badly, though; I feel like it should be fine to hand it to him.
Choices
1) You can have it.
2) I want to read it too.
— You can have it.
Shin: Thanks. I missed out on buying it when it first dropped, and now I can't believe I finally snagged it here.
I wasn't really into helping at first, but I'm actually glad I showed up in the end.
— I want to read it too.
Shin: You want to read it too? I'll check it out first and then lend it to you. How about that…?
Orion: He must really love this band if he wants to read it that badly.
If someone really wants it that badly, we should just give it to him.
end Choices
Shin: …Last year I was solely focused on studying to get into this school…
I never would've guessed that a year later I'd be here sorting books with you on the first day of the new year.
Orion: Last year was when Shin took his entrance exam, huh? …He mentioned he picked this school because of its scholarship program.
…When the topic first came up, I didn't think much of it…
But doesn't it make you think that Shin's family situation might be a little complicated? Like, he prepares his own lunch and is always looking to save a few bucks.
Shin: …I gotta admit, I wasn't sure if coming here was the best idea at first.
Orion: Eh…!?
Shin: Ever since my dad accidentally took someone's life, the way people see me has totally shifted after all…
No matter what I did, my dad's actions were always there, and I started to feel like there was no point in putting in much effort anymore.
But you and Toma were just the same as always; you guys didn't change at all.
You have to go to school until junior high, but after that, it's totally up to you if you want to continue to high school or not.
I was thinking about skipping high school and just diving into work, but…
"There are paths that only open through learning." That's what you said, remember?
"Your employment possibilities will improve if you go to school, and you have nothing to lose even if people say bad things about your dad."
When you said that, I knew right then I wanted to try going here.
Instead of just sitting around, it's way better to give something with potential a shot.
I can still decide what I want to do with my life, so I want to do my best.
Once I started thinking that way, it felt like I could take on the world. So, I owe it all to you for me being here now.
…Thank you.
Y/N: (Ah…)
Flashback
Y/N: Hey Shin, it's getting pretty late…
Shin: Ah… Sorry, I'll finish this real quick.
Y/N: …You're reading one of these books again?
Shin: Yes, just because I made it in here doesn't mean I can take it easy.
Y/N: …Looks like Shin has really changed a bunch over the time he's been in the dorm.
Shin: …If I made a change, it would be because of you.
Y/N: Me…?
Shin: …If you don't get it, that's fine. I'll tell you some other time.
Y/N: If you say it like that, I'm getting curious. Hey, tell me.
Shin: I said I'd tell you some other time. Focus on your librarian duties for now; no need to stress about it.
Y/N: (Geez, you could've at least told me.)
(I'll find a way to get it out of you eventually...!)
Flashback ends
Y/N: (That's what Shin meant back then…)
Orion: I figured there had to be a reason for Shin acting like that.
Y/N: (Orion...? Why are you disappearing...?)
Orion: Errr… Please calm down and listen to me first, Y/N. If I start to fade…
It means your memories are starting to come back to you.
Y/N: (My memories…?)
Orion: Yes, that means we're making some progress in getting your memories back!
Y/N: (Wait. That means once I regain them all, you will…)
Orion: …..
Y/N: (We'll have to say goodbye then…?)
Orion: …I'll be sad too when it's time to say goodbye to you.
But for my sake, you can't just let go of the memories you've treasured up until now.
I'll be right here with you until you get all your memories back.
Y/N: (Orion…)
Orion: I've been with you up until now; I know you can do it. You will get them back.
And you have a lot of friends to rely on too. Look, even right now—
Shin: …Don't act all surprised when someone says thank you.
Y/N: (Ah…)
Shin: Seriously, you've been going a bit overboard lately.
You're also taking entrance exams this year; are you sure you'll do okay?
Toma already mentioned he's picked the department he wants to go for, so now he just needs to narrow down his choices for universities.
Y/N: (Eh…!?)
(...Ah, he's right. I'm getting ready for my entrance exams too; I can't just keep goofing off like this forever either!)
(I know I have to think about what to do once my memories come back, but…)
(I'm nervous…)
Orion: Y/N…
Shin: …..
Back when I was getting ready for the entrance exams, you kept saying stuff like, "I've got your back; calm down; everything's gonna be alright."
So, why do you look so worried right now? When you make that face, it makes me uneasy, too.
Y/N: (Eh…?)
Shin: Your words… always encouraged me, y'know.
That's why… you can't give up on yourself now.
Choices
1) I'm sorry…
2) You're not very convincing.
— I'm sorry…
Shin: Idiot, there's no need to apologize. I'm not mad at you or anything.
I'm just… worried about you, that's all. Especially when you make that face.
No matter what I usually throw your way, you never back down and always strike back.
— You're not very convincing.
Shin: Well… you already knew that, right? Then how about you lighten up and be your usual self again?
But... don't push yourself. I'll know right away if you do that.
…It's okay to vent every now and then. I promise to listen whenever I can.
end Choices
Shin: There's still enough time to decide what you want to do and make an effort to achieve it.
Calm down, take a deep breath, and think about what you want to do next.
Y/N: (...Hearing Shin say that helped me calm down a little.)
(And the way he strokes my head is very gentle…)
(It's like he's telling me there's really no need to rush.)
Orion: Sometimes, Shin can be a bit rough with his words…
But maybe he usually puts it that way because he wants you to handle it your own way.
Y/N: (I think so too. He doesn't just give me the answer; he encourages me to figure it out on my own.)
(Was Shin… always this mature?)
Shin: …What are you staring at me for?
Y/N: (...Now he's back to his usual self.)
(But… why did he feel like a total stranger to me just now?)
(Weird…)
Toma: I finished organizing the lexicons, Y/N. What's next—
Huh…? Shin was here as well?
Shin: Yeah, but I've already finished my work.
Toma: …What about the music magazine behind you?
Shin: Ah, about that…
Toma: Shin, isn't the band on this cover your favorite?
Don't tell me you guys were reading this magazine instead of working?
Choices
1) We were taking a break.
2) We haven't read it yet…
— We were taking a break.
Shin: Exactly. We just looked at it a little while taking a break.
Toma: Hmm. I suppose taking breaks is important.
— We haven't read it yet…
Shin: E-Exactly. We worked hard until just a few minutes ago.
Toma: Right. Then… I'm sure it's okay if I get rid of this magazine, right?
Shin: N-No need to!
Toma: Then don't lie to me, both of you. Just be honest and admit you were reading it.
end Choices
Toma: We still have work to do; you guys can read it later, okay?
Shin: Are you our mother?
Toma: I think of myself more as a brother than a mother to you two. Geez… You guys never change, do you?
You two usually say things to each other that make me think you're fighting, but at times like this, you're a team.
Shin: We're just connected like that.
Toma: If that's the case, then why were you looking to apply to a different school at first? Wasn't it like, "I wouldn't have to see your faces again"?
Shin: …..
Toma: Anyway, we can still be together for a little over a year.
Our next destinations, whether university or other school… will likely vary based on our individual goals.
Y/N: (...He's right. We've been together for so long; it almost feels unreal that we'll be separated.)
(Things that used to be normal for us might not be possible for much longer.)
Toma: We've already had less time together than usual.
Shin: And despite that, Toma and Y/N somehow manage to swing by my class to "check on me" every day.
Toma: Well… How do I put it? I guess it has become a habit.
Shin: Still… Just because I'm doing my own thing doesn't mean I don't have friends, alright?
It's been 10 months since I started this school already, y'know? Yeah, at first, a few people were chatting about my dad, but honestly, I had no issues with it…
Orion: Huh!? Was he really fine with that…?
Choices
1) What did they say?
2) You should've told us.
— What did they say?
Shin: Don't worry, they weren't mean to me like some people used to be.
They wanted to hear what I had to say, so for once I was able to explain things.
— You should've told us.
Shin: It's fine; I was able to handle it on my own.
I'm pretty sure people will still bring up my dad… but that's okay.
end Choices
Toma: …I see. If Shin thinks that, then we should let it be.
Shin: Exactly, you two should concentrate on yourselves.
Y/N: (Shin even came up with his own answers when asked about his father.)
(It's a family issue, so I bet he's still got it on his mind, but he's also keeping his eyes on the future.)
(I thought he was supposed to be like a little brother to me, but after that headpat earlier…)
(It doesn't feel like that anymore…)
Place: Classroom
Orion: Haa, the opening ceremony is finally over. Everyone seemed to be even more tired than usual, maybe because the holidays have ended.
Y/N: (A lot of students went home during their winter breaks; I think that might add to that.)
Orion: Meanwhile, we were just shoveling snow and hitting the books with Shin and Toma for the new semester.
Y/N: (Talking about that…)
(Shin was putting in a ton of effort into studying.)
(His grades look good, and if he keeps this up, he might get into a good university.)
Orion: It goes to show how much effort he's putting in for his future.
Y/N: (Shin's working extremely hard…)
(I… might have amnesia right now, but I need to seriously consider my future too.)
(Toma mentioned there are some university and college brochures in the career guidance office, so I might as well take a look at those.)
Sawa: Hey, Y/N! Wanna get lunch together? I'd like to ask Mine, too.
Choices
1) Yes, I want the lunch A) cake again.
2) Sure, let's go get her.
— Yes, I want the lunch A) cake again.
Sawa: What a coincidence! I was thinking the same thing actually.
I get that having it every day isn't the best idea, but treating yourself to it once in a while is fine, right?
— Sure, let's go get her.
Sawa: Alrighty. It's been a minute since we last hung out because we didn't get to see each other over winter break.
end Choices
Sawa: Also, is what Toma told me true? That you've been shoveling snow from around the school?
Staying in the dorms over winter break probably didn't feel much like a break, huh?
Orion: It was just that there were no classes; otherwise, it felt pretty much the same as usual.
Sawa: There's only so much we can do at the moment...
For example, we could pray at the shrine behind school today after class.
Since we're already heading out, why not invite Mine, Shin, and Toma along too? Hey, let's all go there together!
Choices
1) Why do you want that?
2) Thank you, Sawa.
— Why do you want that?
Sawa: I feel like there's so much to talk about. Although it feels a bit weird saying it out loud like that…
Like our love lives… No, maybe how studying is going so far… Or…
Orion: Should we be worried…?
— Thank you, Sawa.
Sawa: You don't need to thank me for this. Since we couldn't hang out during the break, I just want to hang out with everyone.
And the only thing that came to mind was going to the nearby shrine.
end Choices
Sawa: Alright. The sooner we go, the better, right?
Let's see if everyone is free to go today.
Mine is… Ah, there! Hey, Mine. Can I ask you something?
Y/N: (Where's Shin…?)
Orion: Isn't he sitting by the window? Look, he's talking to a girl right now.
Y/N: (Ah, you're right. He's getting his lunch ready too…)
Orion: Last year, he sneaked out to the rose garden to eat it… and now it looks like he's getting closer to everyone in his class.
Y/N: (...Seems like it.)
Mine: What's up with you guys?
Sawa: We were wondering if you'd like to grab lunch with us and if you have some time to check out a shrine later.
Mine: Sure, eating lunch together is fun, but going to the shrine...?
Sawa: It won't just be us; we thought it would be cool to invite Shin and Toma to join us as well.
If everyone's free, why don't we go today?
Mine: Sure, why not? I haven't been to the shrine since the beginning of the year, so I'm in.
Sawa: Yay! I was gonna ask Shin if he was around too, but he looks busy.
Mine: Oh, Shin? I'll go get him for you.
Choices
1) …Is Shin close with her?
2) We shouldn't bother them.
— …Is Shin close with her?
Mine: Uhh, I don't know much about her. They're on the same committee, but I haven't talked much to her.
— We shouldn't bother them.
Mine: Eh? Why shouldn't we? Perhaps Y/N is misinterpreting the relationship between those two?
Don't worry; I think they're merely in the same committee, nothing more.
end Choices
Y/N: (...We're in different grades, so I've seen Shin talking with people I don't even know a ton of times…)
(...Then why is it bothering me now?)
Sawa: Ah, whenever he's done, can you ask him then?
Mine: Alright, sure. Let's wait a moment.
time skip
Mine: I got him.
Shin: …You said you wanted to go somewhere?
Sawa: Yes, yes. I was thinking about inviting Toma as well so we could all go to the shrine together.
Shin: I don't have music club practice today, which means I can go.
Y/N: (Shin's joining us…!)
Sawa: Alrighty! All that's left is to ask Toma…
I'll check with him when we head back to class. If he doesn't want to join us, I'll let you know, Mine.
Mine: Okay. I hope Toma-senpai can join us, though.
Place: Outside — Shrine
Orion: Now this is the shrine Sawa was talking about… I'm glad we all could make it there today.
Y/N: (Yes, I'm glad we could come here, even though Toma can't stay for long.)
Shin: I had no idea there was a shrine behind the school...
Mine: I also didn't know that. I wonder if it comes with a special blessing.
Toma: Has anyone ever heard of someone making a wish here and it actually coming true?
Sawa: Yes, I do. It's pretty common for students to come here and pray during exam periods.
Mine: I see... I'll make a serious wish then.
Toma: How about you, Y/N? Have you thought about a wish?
Y/N: (Uhh… I was thinking about wishing for my memories back, but I can't really say that.…)
Choices
1) What's your wish, Toma?
2) …It's a secret.
— What's your wish, Toma?
Toma: Hey, come on, don't avoid the question.
Besides… my wish is pretty much the same as always.
I'm praying that nothing bad happens to you or Shin.
Y/N: (Toma really looks out for us more than he does for himself…)
— …It's a secret.
Mine: Ehh!? Why not tell us? I'm really curious about it.
Toma: Don't tell me… Is it a wish about love?
Sawa: Ahh, that's probably why she can't say it out loud. Especially in front of you guys.
Shin & Toma: What's that supposed to mean?
Mine: …I think I get why. Around them, the subject seems a little sensitive.
Sawa: Right? Well, if it was really a love wish, you've gotta fill me and Mine in on it later!
Y/N: (...I guess my vagueness backfired horribly.)
Orion: You've been together for a long time; it's no wonder they'd be curious if you suddenly found someone you like.
end Choices
Mine: Hey Sawa, do we all toss our offerings at the shrine together and then pray?
Sawa: When I say "ready, go!" we'll all toss it. Alright…
Orion: Sawa's really motivated. Maybe I'll give praying a shot too…
Sawa: Ready? Go!
Orion: I'm praying that your memories come back so you can get back to your usual life...
Y/N: (Orion…)
Orion: I had the same wish as you. But I'm not sure if God will make my wish come true.
Y/N: (...Thank you so much.)
Orion: That's the very least I can do for you; don't thank me.
Ah… looks like everyone's done making their wishes.
Shin: …..
Orion: Wow… Shin's praying with all his heart. His mind is deeply on his wish...
Shin: …Ah. Sorry for making you wait.
Choices
1) You took your time.
2) What were you wishing for?
— You took your time.
Shin: Yeah… I guess. I didn't really plan on depending solely on God, but hey, it's always good to have a backup, right?
But don't ask me what my wish was.
— What were you wishing for?
Shin: …It's a secret.
Orion: Eh!? If he says that, I'm getting even more curious about it!
end Choices
Shin: I've heard that if you keep your wishes to yourself, they're more likely to come true.
Y/N: (I… didn't think Shin would be so into the whole "wish" thing.)
(If he really wants something that much, it's gotta be something he truly hopes will happen.)
(Shin has always worked really hard on himself, especially given his situation.)
(Whatever he wished for, I really hope it comes true…)
Place: Library
Orion: That's all the books stored for today… right? I've got all the bookshelf numbers memorized, meaning you're basically the perfect librarian now!
Y/N: (At first, it was a bit of a challenge to get everything sorted since this place is huge… but now it's way easier.)
Shin enters library
Y/N: (Ah… it's Shin. He's probably here to study again—)
Shin: I'm sure the book on the bookshelf over there has a more detailed explanation, and maybe it's easier to understand too.
Y/N: (…Sounds like he's talking to another girl again.)
(The girl he's talking to… it's the same girl from the other day in class.)
Orion: Isn't that the girl Mine mentioned is on the same committee as him?
Y/N: (Yes, it is. But it doesn't seem like they're here for committee work…)
(.....)
(Toma and I were always a bit concerned about whether Shin would fit in here, given his family situation.…)
(We keep an eye on him a lot because of this, so it should be a good sign that he gets along with his classmates…)
(…And yet I feel weird. I somehow can't be happy about it…)
Orion: Y/N…
Y/N: (Maybe I feel this way because of my amnesia…)
(If I were my usual self, maybe this wouldn't bug me as much as it does right now?)
Orion: Even though we're connected, I can't totally grasp all your feelings, so I can't say for sure…
But right now… I can tell that you're feeling a deep sadness.
We don't know how you felt during the last school year, but you're still you even if you can't remember.
Even though you've lost your memories, the feelings you have won't go away.
Y/N: (I wonder… what I thought of Shin before I lost my memory.)
(Toma and I are older than Shin, which is why we treat him like our little brother…)
(But right now, I…)
Shin: Hey, Y/N…
Y/N: (...Nn!)
Shin: …Don't act so surprised. I just wanted to ask you to borrow this book for me.
Y/N: (This is… a classical Japanese textbook?)
Shin: …..? What's wrong?
Choices
1) Are you studying with her?
2) It's rare to see you with a girl.
— Are you studying with her?
Shin: I mean, I am doing research with her, but that's because we have to do a group presentation.
When I said I borrowed some classical Japanese textbooks a few times here, I was instantly treated like the resource guy, though.
Y/N: (Ahh, I see… they're working on a group project.)
(That means it's part of one of their classes…)
— It's rare to see you with a girl.
Shin: Ah, we're supposed to do a group project on classical Japanese literature, and I'm the one handling the materials…
I even said I'd handle the project on my own, but they insisted on helping…
Y/N: (A group project, huh? …I guess it must be part of some class.)
end Choices
Y/N: (.....)
(Orion… What's going on with me?)
Orion: Eh? What's wrong?
Y/N: (I… feel relieved hearing that.)
(When Mine mentioned they were in the same committee the other day…)
(And now seeing them together in the library, I thought they might be more than just classmates or even friends…)
(I'm glad… I was wrong about it though. But when did I start making assumptions like this…?)
Shin: Y/N? How long are you gonna hold onto the book? I'll give it back to you when we're done, y'know?
Y/N: (W-What do I do? I can't even look him in the eyes…)
(I guess I'll give him the book…)
Choices
1) Here.
2) Good luck on your project.
— Here.
Shin: Here…? What's up with you acting like that since earlier?
If you have something to say, spit it out.
Y/N: (Ah… Now he's suspicious of me…!)
— Good luck on your project.
Shin: …At least look at me when you say that.
Y/N: (Ugh…! I tried to be as normal as possible, okay?)
end Choices
Female student: E-Excuse me.
Y/N: (Ah… Thank God. This would have just gotten more awkward the longer we were alone…)
Orion: But Shin still doesn't seem too convinced by what you just said…
Y/N: (T-True…)
Shin: Listen, I have something to talk about here. I'll meet you in the classroom.
Y/N: (Eh…!?)
Shin: I'll bring the book we need with me once I'm done here.
Female student: …Okay.
She leaves
Shin: …..
Y/N: (T-This is awkward…)
Shin: Now… What's up with you acting all strange around me lately?
Y/N: (Even if I told him… I wouldn't know where to start…)
Shin: …Right now you look the same as you did back then.
Y/N: (...Back then?)
Shin: Just before summer vacation started…
Remember when you were on a stepladder trying to put that heavy book back on the shelf?
Y/N: (Before summer vacation…?)
(Ah…!)
Flashback
Y/N: (I've put up the sign saying the library's closed, meaning all that's left is to put the books back where they belong, and then I'm done for the day.…)
(Battleship encyclopedia… That looks like a heavy one…)
(Ugh! It's even heavier than it looks! Err, the shelf it belongs to is…)
(Ah, on the top.)
(.....)
(I can barely lift it; how am I supposed to get it up there?)
(Alright. Let's try…)
Shin: Sorry, I haven't returned a book yet…
Y/N… What are you doing?
Y/N: Ah, Shin.
I'm trying to put this book back on the top shelf over here.
Shin: Book? …This looks more like a dictionary, doesn't it?
Y/N: I mean… you're not wrong.
Shin: Idiot. No matter how strong you think you are, this is impossible for a woman to lift.
Y/N: It's not impossible. I know if I try a little harder, I can do it…
Shin: That's not the problem.
Did you ever think about the fact that you might end up hurting yourself if you do something stupid like this?
Y/N: (.....!)
I…
Shin: …..
…Give it to me. I'll put it back for you.
Y/N: B-But it's really heavy, you know?
Shin: …You think I'm that weak? I could carry you right now if you wanted me to.
Y/N: C-Carrying me in your arm, you mean?
There's no way you could do that, Shin.
Shin: Stop yapping so much already. Do you want me to prove to you that I can?
Shin gets closer
Shin: Let's go…
Y/N: Y-You don't have to!
Shin: Then give me the book.
Y/N: …Okay, fine.
Shin: Good. In the meantime you can return the book I brought with me.
Y/N: Alright…
(...I'm still worried about him though.)
(Sure, Shin's taller than me now, but he doesn't seem all that much stronger than he was before.)
Shin: I know you're still watching me… I told you to return the book I brought, didn't I?
Y/N: I'm just… worried about you…
Shin: I know you're worried about me, but…
You can't treat me like a kid forever.
Y/N: …..!
(Even if he says that, Shin is still Shin to me… and he might always be.)
(...But he didn't trip like I did when I tried to carry the book.)
(And even now, it doesn't look as dangerous as I thought it was.)
(I don't think it would have gone that way if I did it. Maybe Shin is more grown up than I thought…)
Shin: …All done.
Y/N: R-Right, thank you.
(Ever since Shin moved into the dorms, we've only really gotten together during the holidays.)
(That's why I thought he was still the same old Shin he used to be...)
(I only started to notice something was off when we stopped hanging out as much…)
Uhh… I'll handle the return myself, so you can head home, okay?
Shin: …No, I'll wait.
Y/N: Eh…!?
Shin: Whenever you're done, we can go back together.
We use the same path to the dorms; there's no reason to go separately.
Y/N: I mean… Yeah, but…
(Somehow… I can't calm down. Why am I feeling this way around Shin…?)
Shin: …Why are you acting all nervous around me now?
Y/N: Shin…
Shin: I… What?
Y/N: …It's nothing.
Shin: Just say it if you've already started.
Y/N: (But this is absurd. Thinking of Shin like this…)
(We've known each other since we were kids, and Shin is…)
Shin: Y/N? Are you… really fine?
Y/N: Y-Yes. I was just surprised at how strong you are.
Shin: …Ah, now you realize that you've clearly underestimated me.
This time I was here to help you, but I'm sure this will happen again.
Next time, if you ever doubt your abilities, don't do anything reckless, okay?
Y/N: Okay…
(For now, I'll keep what I thought to myself.)
(It's probably best to just keep things as they are instead of saying something that might make things weird between us.)
(And hey… maybe I was just surprised by a side of Shin that I haven't seen before.)
Monologue
…I figured I had nothing to lose if I just treated what happened today as some kind of "imaginary thing."
— I know Toma, Shin, and I won't always be together.
As we get older, it's normal that we won't hang out as much as we used to.
That's why I really want to make the most of our time together.
But… it's difficult to act like I haven't developed feelings for him.
For a moment, it made me think about what might have happened if we weren't childhood friends.
… Even just thinking about that felt like I was admitting that Shin means more to me now.
Flashback ends
Orion: It was around that time you started to become aware of your feelings toward Shin.
Y/N: (Orion…? Where are you? I can't see you anymore…!)
(Are you…)
Orion: Yes… you've regained all your memories now. Which means… This will be our goodbye.
Y/N: (...I knew I had to say goodbye to Orion someday, but not that it would be so soon.)
(I'll be so lonely without you. You were always there for me…!)
Orion: I'll never forget the time I was able to spend with you here at this school, Y/N.
What worries me, though… is Shin.
I know you don't want to ruin your relationship as childhood friends. But is it really okay to leave it at that?
Y/N: (...I'm afraid that if I tell him how I feel, things will change between us.)
(But… even when I lost my memories, I still couldn't help but think about Shin.)
(This wasn't some "imaginary thing" that would eventually go away. I think… I'm in love with him.)
Orion: If you know the answer to your feelings now, will you be brave enough to tell him?
Even if I might disappear now, I'll still be by your side. So… please do your best, Y/N!
Y/N: (Orion…)
(I'm still scared of what will happen, but I want to cherish this feeling too.)
(I… I'm in love with Shin.)
Shin: …You're finally looking at me again.
Y/N: Shin…
Shin: So? What made you not want to look at me?
Y/N: …I can't tell you yet.
Shin: Huh? Yet…?
Y/N: I'll tell you soon.
Shin: …Don't copy me now. Spit it out already.
Y/N: I can't. Please… Wait a bit for my explanation.
Shin: …..
…Fine, but I'll be mad if you make me wait forever and it turns out it wasn't something important.
Y/N: (It's really important…)
(Because it's probably something Shin never thought would happen…)
There is no way on earth you could make Shin's first and second chapters normal lengths and then shit on my plate with Shin's third chapter being the length of the previous two combined.

Just as we thought, he's not here… Hey, Y/N. Did you notice?
Today… we actually haven't met Luka even once yet!
Now that we've met him almost every day, it feels weird not to see him…
Place: Outside — School dorms
Orion: Since that break-in at the girls' dorm, he hasn't shown up around there anymore. Now that we've gotten this far, I don't think we'll run into him—
Ikki: Um… Could I be released from this soon? I'm quite busy myself.
Luka: Come on, don't say that. Let's talk a little longer.
Orion: …..
I spoke too soon, and now we jinxed ourselves.
But since they're chatting right in front of the dorm, there's no other way to get past them…
Luka: Ah, you're back, Y/N! Perfect timing; I had such a wonderful encounter today.
Ikki: …..
Luka: Look, I mean this guy. I saw it. His true face, I mean!
Even though he conceals his beauty behind those sunglasses, my eyes could not be fooled.
Ikki: Do you know this person? If so, could you possibly do something about him?
He grabbed me to talk as I was leaving school and hasn't let go since.
Orion: That sounds… kind of familiar, doesn't it? Actually, this has become somewhat normal for us with him...
Luka: I've seen a lot of students, but I believe he's by far the most attractive of the boys.
Seeing him was a different shock for me than meeting Y/N...
And what began as a simple desire to gain her attention has evolved into a more intimate friendship.
Orion: This is still pretty one-sided—
Ah!! Ikki wants to get away!
Luka: Oh my… Where are you going, beautiful man?
Both: B-Beautiful man…?
Luka: Like Y/N, he is hesitant to tell me his name.
Ikki: I wish you would stop saying that. I don't want other students to know I'm here, after all.
Luka: That's exactly why you need to tell me. If you do, you're free to leave.
Ikki: …..
Orion: Ikki seems reluctant. I don't think it's that he doesn't want to tell Luka; it seems more like he might not want to share his real name.
I mean, Ikkis' real name is Ikkyu, and he doesn't really seem to like his own name much.
Luka: What's wrong, beautiful man? You're frowning and thus destroying your beauty.
Ikki: …..
Luka: If you're this hesitant to tell me, I'm quite sure your name must be as lovely as hers.
Perhaps it's the same name as a famous angel?
What name would be appropriate for a beautiful man like yourself? Perhaps, Michael...?
Ikki: …..
Orion: It's getting tougher to say it now that the bar's been raised…
Luka: Hmm… no. None of the names that come to mind sound right. I give up; could you please tell me?
Ikki: I absolutely do not want to tell you my name. You might continue addressing me with that nickname…
Luka: Eh!? Ah… beautiful man!
Orion: He left…
Kent's the only one who calls Ikki by his real name, so he could find out like he did with you…
Luka: When he says it like that, I'm even more curious to know…
Orion: I figured he'd say that. He was like that with your name too.
Luka: Y/N, could you please tell me the name of this beautiful man?
I won't tell him you told me. I promise that it will remain a secret between you and me, okay?
Choices
1) His name's Ikki.
2) …His name's Ikkyu.
— His name's Ikki.
Luka: Heh! So that's his name. Yes, it sounds dignified, doesn't it?
Orion: …Looks like he managed to convince you after all. Although you didn't tell him his real name…
— …His name's Ikkyu.
Luka: …..
H-Heh, right. Hmm.
No, it's not like I hate it. I only imagined it to be slightly different…
It's… quite unique, wouldn't you agree? Nobody would have expected him to have such a name given his appearance.
end Choices
Luka: Aside from that... I'm surprised you even responded to my request…
You seem to be opening up to me a lot lately, no? That makes me happy.
Orion: …..
Luka's in a good mood, isn't he? It's actually… kind of refreshing to see him like this.
Or maybe it's because you see each other every day that you've somehow gotten used to how to deal with Luka?
He's not such a bad person after all… I think.
Luka: Yes, and because you listened to my request, we'll celebrate with dinner together tonight.
I'd love to sit in front of your two childhood friends again and show off our friendship right now.
Orion: Since Valentine's Day, Luka has been strangely treating those two like they're some sort of rivals.
We might not be able to enjoy dinner tonight if this ends up happening, though...
— March
Place: Lecture hall
Orion: It's been over two months since we set our goal for the year.
Kent and Ikki graduated, and after the closing ceremony, it'll be spring break…
It was a bit confusing at first, but I think we’ve pretty much gotten the hang of your school life by now, don’t you think?
…..
…Wait, that's bad! All hope isn't lost; we can't give up yet!
No matter how long it takes, don't ever give up! Never!
Place: Classroom
Orion: I've always thought it was weird how the principal's speeches go on forever…
I nearly dozed off again this time… Huh? There's something on your desk…
Is this… a l-love letter!? The sender is…
…I can't find one? Let's take a look at what's written inside.
Umm, let's see…
Monologue
I'll be waiting for you on the rooftop at 5 p.m. today.
Orion: …That sounds more like a challenge for a duel than a love letter…
But it's addressed to you, so it doesn't seem like this is a mistake.
What do you want to do…? Should we go there?
Choices
1) I should go, but…
2) I don't know who sent it.
— I should go, but…
Orion: True, you have no clue who sent this letter or what they're after…
Even though we don't know what this letter is all about yet, it could still be a love letter…
Someone might be out there waiting for you to show up later.
— I don't know who sent it.
Orion: Hmm… Maybe they forgot to put their name down, or maybe they left it off on purpose.
I agree that not knowing who wrote this is scary...
end Choices
Orion: Then, how about you show up a bit later? This way, the sender already has to be waiting on the roof, right?
We can see who it is, and then if you want to meet them, you can approach them.
If you're still feeling weird about it by then, let's skip meeting them.
I think that's the best choice for now.
I hope that the right person is waiting for you on the roof.
Time skip
Orion: …It's 5pm now. Are you ready, Y/N?
I'm starting to feel nervous about this now… I wonder what kind of person will wait for you?
Now that I think about it, it's possible that they might be someone you know… Toma, for example, could easily leave the letter behind in the classroom…
But Shin also knows you sit in that seat, which means we can't rule him out either…
Or maybe it's really someone you don't know at all… I wonder if they're there yet?
If you lean out too far, you might get spotted, Y/N.
…And? Can you see someone?
…..
Hm? …Looks like there's nobody here… right?
Place: School — Rooftop
Orion: What's this? We thought someone was here waiting for you, so we got all worked up for no reason…
…Was this really a prank? Oh well, let's go home.
Luka: As I thought, knowing you're such a shy person, I expected you wouldn't show up on time.
Orion: …Nn!?
Luka: …Are you surprised? I hid in the door's blind spot.
But I'm honored that you came here. I would not have been able to recuperate if you had ignored my request.
Although… I would have waited forever for you to come here.
…..
Please accept this bouquet from me, Y/N.
At first glance this bouquet might appear ordinary to anyone, but…
I want you to know that while I was making this bouquet, I was solely thinking about you.
I thought you'd be happier with something charming rather than dazzling.
I was curious what kind of response you'd have when you saw this bouquet. I hope you are pleased with it...
Thinking about what expression you'd make was enjoyable, and it made me want to present you this bouquet as quickly as possible.
I… wanted to see your smile the most.
Choices
1) Thank you so much, Luka.
2) I can tell how you feel, Luka.♡ ♡ ♡
— Thank you so much, Luka.
Luka: This is nothing. As I said, while I was making this bouquet, I was thinking of you.
It was nice to make something for someone else once and not for myself.
Do you want to know something I realized while making this?
— I can tell how you feel, Luka.♡
Luka: Having you say this is a little embarrassing. But… it's not bad.
There's nothing more rewarding than knowing that something I created made you smile.
end Choices
Luka: Just as I imagined, roses really suit you best.
Right, let me make a rough sketch to remember… No, I shouldn't. There's something else I have to tell you first.
I called you here because I wanted to give you that bouquet and also because……
—There's something important I have to tell you.
Orion: I-Is this a… confession!? W-Wait, I'll cut our connections—
Luka: I will… begin working here as an art instructor in the spring.
Orion: …Eh?
Luka: You took art as an elective, correct? That means I'll start teaching you arts in your third year.
I'm confident that once I am your teacher, you will never be bored again.
You have a good poker face, but it can only last so long.
From now on, I swear I'll keep bringing out your beautiful smile.
I'll do so because… I love you.
Orion: Ehhh!!??
He says that now!? What kind of timing is that!?
Luka: Well, it looks like from now on I'm going to be busier than ever.
I will depict the process that leads you to grin at me, just as a rose blooms.
Orion: W-Wait a moment, what is he—
Luka: If this is the case, I'll start today. I will go buy my favorite art stuff, so please wait!
Luka runs off
Orion: …..
He's right; there won't be any time to get bored for sure. Actually…
You and Luka only crossed paths after you lost your memories, but now he’s really made a mark in your thoughts.
If he's always this pumped up, it's no surprise—
…..!
Hey, did you chuckle a bit just now? Maybe you didn't realize, but…
…..
So, does that mean Lukas being around actually made some good changes for you?
If that's how it is, then this is one way to go about your amnesia!
A time when you can really laugh from the heart… I'm really hoping that day comes up soon.
Even though we've been putting in a ton of effort these last few months to help you get your memories back…
New year is here, and you still haven't got all your memories back…!
…Maybe we need to put in a bit more effort? Because this isn't going anywhere…
Once winter break is over, let's make an effort to chat with everyone even more than we have been. After all, we still need to find a trigger to have your memories come back.
If we put in some extra effort, I bet we'll start seeing some good results!
Place: Outside — School
Orion: Alright, let's put in the effort with our fresh motivation, just like we talked about when we set our goal at the end of last year!
Since Toma is already in our class, we should talk to him the most today.
You guys are childhood friends, and that means he's known you since you were little. I'm sure we can trigger something with that!
???: …Oh my. I knew that face looked familiar; it's you.
Orion: I was thinking that if you two could talk about what you did during the winter break, we might be able to learn more about last year.
???: Don't tell me you haven't noticed me yet. Haha, you're joking, right?
Orion: Honestly, I think it's best to just bring it up casually so it doesn't feel weird later on. If it feels forced, it might seem suspicious.
???: …I sincerely hope you will turn your head over here soon. If we're going to talk, I'd like to look you in the eyes at least.
Orion: “Over here”... huh? Is someone talking to you?
???: Ah, you've finally looked at me. It's been a while since I saw you at the Christmas party; how have you been?
Orion: T-This guy… Right, he was the one who decorated the cake at the Christmas party!
???: I forgot to ask your name that day… and I really regret not asking that before.
But God was watching over me from heaven, and he must've planned this fateful reunion for both of us!
People start chattering
Orion: …Uhh, what do we do? Everyone's looking at you two…
???: Now, here, and now! Tell me your name!
Choices
1) I'm sorry?
2) Calm down, please…
— I'm sorry?
???: A refusal!? No, you simply must be hiding your embarrassment…!
Orion: There's no way! This guy really can't take a hint, can he!?
— Calm down, please…
???: Fufu, you are quite shy, aren't you? That's fine, though.
You can simply whisper it into my ear. Come on, tell me your name in that adorable voice of yours!
Orion: Eek! This guy won't give up, will he…!? He just keeps on pushing…!
end Choices
???: Ah, how rude. I haven't even introduced myself to you yet, have I?
It's understandable that you wouldn't want to tell me your name in this manner. Please forgive my extreme rudeness.
Orion: No, that's not the problem. We were just on our way to—
Luka: My name is Luka. Please feel free to refer to me by that name going forward.
When I saw you from behind as you walked away at the Christmas party, I thought that from behind…
Orion: Eh? W-What? Does that mean… he followed you!?
Luka: I had seen an angel with wings on.
Orion: …..
Luka: Up until now, I thought I only knew one female angel…
But the city is truly different from the countryside, and it appears to be filled with beauties I've never seen before...!
Choices
1) A female angel…?
2) Countryside…?
— A female angel…?
Luka: Yes, that's right. She's just as stunning as you...
However, there aren't enough words to describe her stunning beauty!
— Countryside…?
Luka: Ahem, ahem. Did I say that? I'm sure you must've misheard it.
Orion: Ehh!? He definitely said that, or did you actually mishear it?
end Choices
Luka: Ah, if we keep talking about me, the day will be over before we realize it. Now it is your turn.
Orion: He can say that, but honestly, all we really know about you is just your name…
It feels a bit risky to share your name with someone you don't really know, though….
Shin: …What are you doing here?
Orion: Ah… Shin! He showed up right when we needed him!
Shin: …..? Who's this weirdly snobby guy?
Luka: It's impolite to call someone "weirdly snobby." Maybe you're just too plain.
Shin: …What's so plain about me then? At least I'm more normal than you.
Orion: S-Shin… Maybe it's a good idea to just ignore him…
Luka: In fact, it's difficult to ignore how plain you are. To begin with, all of your belongings appear to be of poor quality. You're obviously poor!
Shin: Ngh…!
Luka: It's pointless to try to hide your worn-out music player now. I've already seen it, after all.
You should be more careful with your belongings; failing to do so will make you appear even cheaper!
Shin: …Hey. Do you know this extremely annoying guy?
Choices
1) I don't.
2) His name is Luka.
— I don't.
Luka: W-What are you saying? I've just introduced myself to you!
Orion: You were basically having a one-sided conversation with yourself, if anything. Then you talked about angels and whatnot…
Shin: Is this guy like a stalker or something…? How annoying.
Luka: I'd prefer to be compared to something more beautiful, so please don't put me in the same category as such vile people.
— His name is Luka.
Luka: You remembered my name right away. This makes me happy.
Shin: …Right away? So you basically just found out his name. Does that even make you acquaintances?
Luka: I'm actually having a fateful reunion with her.
Shin: Fateful reunion…? Seems more like he was chasing after you, if you ask me.
end Choices
Shin: Either way… I can clearly tell you're a shady person.
And if you keep bothering her, I'll have to call the cops… Got it?
Luka: P-Police!? Now, now. You may appear to be a hothead, but let's cool down a little.
Shin: I am calm. As calm as I can be…
Orion: …It's obvious that he's pretty mad. Well, no wonder.
Luka: …Fine, you've won. I think I'll call it a day for now.
However, the more obstacles I encounter, the more motivated I become. By the next time, I'll know your name!
Until then, this will be our farewell. Now, until our next meeting!
Luka runs off
Orion: …..
Shin: He's actually serious about seeing you again. Try not to wander around by yourself too much because of that guy, alright?
Orion: Hmm… I think if he sees you, he'd probably call out to you no matter who you'd be with anyways…
Place: Classroom
Orion: Alright, now that it's lunchtime, it's finally time for us to start gathering the info we aimed for!
Toma is…
…..
Huh? …He's not around. His friends aren't around either; maybe they went outside or something...
N-No, let's not throw in the towel just yet. We need to stay as motivated as we were in the morning…
We need to be as persistent as this guy. Luka was his name, right?
If we can't talk with Toma today… we'll just find someone else to talk with, no big deal.
Place: Hallway
Orion: If we go to the third-year classroom, we should be able to find Kent there… Let's see if we can get some info out of him instead.
???: I see... These are the third-year classrooms. Unlike the first-year students, everyone here appears more mature.
Orion: T-This voice… No, I'm probably just imagining it. There's no way this guy would show up inside your school…
Luka: Oh my! I already thought there was one girl who stood out from the crowd, but it's you again! It appears that we were meant to meet no matter what!
Orion: I-It's really him…! Coincidences like this actually happen…
Kent: Y/N… Do you happen to know Luca?
Orion: Kent!? Eh? Who would've guessed these two know each other when Kent is totally the opposite of this guy…
Luka: Y/N… I see; that's your name.
Orion: Agh! Because of the confusion, he ended up finding out your name!
Luka: Yes, not only does she look beautiful, but her name also sounds beautiful.
She is truly deserving of being the embodiment of an angel. Don't you agree, Obstinate-kun?
Orion: O-Obstinate…? I mean, he's got a point, but saying that to his face takes some serious guts.
Kent: …Y/N being the embodiment of an angel? She appears human to me; what leads you to that conclusion?
Orion: Eh? …Isn't it clear that he has no basis for that statement…?
Luka: There is no need for one, Obstinate-kun. It's all about the feeling. And I can… clearly feel that in my body!
Kent: …..
Orion: Even Kent seems to be at a loss for words… I don't think he's the type to buy into this either.
Luka: Wow, this school is huge. If Obstinate-kun hadn't shown me around, I'm sure I'd have been lost.
Kent: I don't believe it's particularly complex to comprehend…
Luka: You only say that because you've been attending this school for three years.
As the saying goes, "Home is wherever you live." I wonder if I'll eventually get used to living here as well...
Ah, right. Obstinate-kun, that's enough of your guidance for now; the rest of the tour will be handled by Y/N.
Kent: I cannot do that… as I am providing you with a tour at the behest of the headmaster…
Luka: Don’t worry. Besides, there's a lot I would like to talk about with Y/N to begin with.
Kent: Hm… If you say so. Would that be okay with you, Y/N?
Choices
1) Sure.
2) I'm busy right now…
— Sure.
Luka: I'm glad you agreed so quickly. This will undoubtedly help us strengthen our friendship!
Orion: Even if we didn't want to, we can't say no if Kent asks us…
— I'm busy right now…
Luka: Don't be like that. Won't you please help me?
Orion: Hmmm… It's hard to refuse if he asks like that.
end Choices
Luka: Thank you for guiding me so far, Obstinate-kun. I'll be sure to contact you again if anything comes up.
Kent: Certainly. I will entrust the remainder to you, Y/N.
Orion: Ahh, looks like we’re in charge now… I mean, it shouldn't be too hard to give him a tour…
Luka: Our long-awaited time together has finally begun!
Do you mind if we have lunch before you show me around, though? If you don't, let's go eat together!
When I was shown around the cafeteria earlier, I looked at today's menu, and the items on it sounded delicious.
Of course, I'll treat you. Oh my… this is starting to feel more like a date like this.
Well, not that I would mind if it turned into one. After all, I'd love to know you better!
Orion: The conversation is moving so quickly, I can't keep up with all the stuff he's saying…!
Luka: Now that this has been decided, let us proceed to the cafeteria!
Place: Cafeteria
Luka: …To be honest with you, I believe you and I must have had a very close relationship in our previous lives.
Otherwise, I doubt we would have ever met in this large school...
No, I probably wouldn't have met you at the party in the first place then.
Orion: While he goes on and on about his fate theory, you've already finished your meal...
From what was said earlier, it looks like he's not just acquainted with Kent but also knows the headmaster too…
And yet it's kind of a mystery why he's even at this school, but he might actually be a good guy.
Luka: …Not only is the food delicious, but it is also visually appealing.
I think it's quite admirable that they avoid artificial colorings and instead use the natural colors of the vegetables.
Furthermore, these vegetables are pesticide-free on top. The freshness is impeccable.
Orion: Is he actually able to tell if it's pesticide-free just by tasting it…? He shouldn't be, right?
Choices
1) Are you a foodie?
2) Is it? I can't tell.
— Are you a foodie?
Luka: Hahaha… I suppose I am. When it comes to food, I try to avoid making compromises.
— Is it? I can't tell.
Luka: If you have life experience like me, you will understand.
If you'd like, I can assist you in gaining that experience.
end Choices
Luka: Vegetables were always on the table at my house, so I'm pretty picky about them.
By the way… Are you free after school today, Y/N? If yes, why don't you—
Orion: Ah, the bell! Your class is about to start; let's hurry back to the classroom!
Luka: W-Wait, I haven't finished yet…
Orion: That's because you kept on talking instead of eating! It's not like he's even a student here, anyway...
You've got classes to get to, so even if you feel bad for him, it's time to head there.
Luka: Ah, this is embarrassing... Bolting down food is actually against my aesthetics.
It is disrespectful to the person who prepared the food unless you properly savor it! Always take your time when eating…
Choices
1) I'm sorry, but class is starting soon.
2) It's important, but I can't wait anymore.
— I'm sorry, but class is starting soon.
Luka: …Eh!? W-Wait, let me go with you…
Orion: Agh, you can't wait any longer! Let's go, Y/N!
— It's important, but I can't wait anymore.
Luka: R-Regardless… It's quite important to chew your food as well.
Orion: If she's late for class, there's nothing to earn from that either! She can't wait any longer!
end Choices
Orion: If you keep on waiting, you'll definitely be late. If you sprint, you can still make it!
Place: Classroom
Orion: S-Somehow... you made it in time. And before we knew it, we went from giving someone a tour to grabbing lunch with them.
…All while we were actually supposed to go to the third-year classroom to talk to other students…
N-No, there's still a chance to talk to some people. Let's keep our spirits up!
— February
Sawa: Hey, Valentine's Day is coming up soon. Are you going to prepare something for Toma and the others this year, too?
Toma: Why would you ask that in front of me? It ruins the surprise, you know?
Sawa: If she does, that means I can hope to receive some chocolate as well.
Toma: About that… I'm not only taking care of Y/N but also you, especially when it comes to your studies.
Sawa: I know, but I always repay you for all the help you give me, though.
Ah, right. Why don't you join me in making some Valentine's Day sweets, Y/N? I invited Mine too.
Orion: Yes, that's a good idea. I'm sure it would be more fun if you guys made it together!
Luka: Homemade Valentine's Day sweets from Y/N would be truly wonderful. I'd love to join in as well.
Everyone: !!!
Orion: W-Why did he jump into the conversation too!? I didn't even sense his presence…
Sawa: Is this guys… someone you know, Y/N?
Luka: Fufu, I'm glad you asked. She and I… are in fact very close friends with one another.
Orion: Hey, don't lie! Don't believe him, you two! He's a lying liar!
Toma: …Curly hair, a black fur coat, and some holly decorations…
Could it be… that he's the one who's been stalking you, Y/N?
Luka: "Stalking" isn't such a beautiful expression. Y/N and I were actually brought together by fate.
Toma: "Every word and action he does is really annoying..." He has to be the weirdo that Shin was talking about.
Orion: That means Shin told Toma about his encounter. That's good.
Yesterday we were swept up in Lukas' pace, but with Toma next to us, we don't need to worry about him.
Luka: Greeting me by calling me a "weirdo" is quite inappropriate. If anyone here is weird, it is you.
After all, how can you possibly not take action when you're with her?
It's crazy to think you can remain calm in front of such a beautiful woman as her.
Toma: We're childhood friends… And there's no need to make such a fuss over it.
How did you even get onto the school grounds…? Doesn't that count as trespassing?
Luka: I received permission from the school; therefore, it's not trespassing.
Toma: Even if you got permission, aren't you too free with your clothing and your behavior?
Luka: Ah, well, that cannot be helped. I'm not bound by earthly rules after all; that's simply who I am.
Toma: Eh…?
Luka: There are generally too many ties in this world to begin with.
If you don't follow certain rules, you're punished. The more forbidden something is, the more you want it. That's simply human nature.
That's why, kid, it seems to me that being bound by rules is limiting the freedom of humans to express themselves.
And humans need to have their freedom, wouldn't you agree?
Toma: …..
Orion: T-Toma…? Come on, say something. Anything, just like you did earlier.
Toma: …No matter how absurd this sounds, he might have a point about that.
Orion: Ehhhhhhhh!? You… gotta be kidding!?
Sawa: I get why the more rules there are, the more tempting something becomes. It's like the forbidden fruit thing, right?
Orion: Sawa too!? There has to be something fishy about this!
Luka: I'm glad you understand. I sincerely hope you two will break free from your pointless ties and live freely as well.
Orion: Please, please don't listen to him! Ugh, how did things turn out like this…?
Luka: Oops, we've veered off topic. I asked Y/N if I could join her in her baking.
Now that you've seen my work, you'll undoubtedly accept my offer, right?
Choices
1) I want to make them with friends…
2) We can't make such art like you do.
— I want to make them with friends…
Luka: What are you saying? You and I are friends; no, we're more than that!
Orion: Don't create relationships from thin air! She said she wants to make them with her actual friends!
— We can't make such art like you do.
Luka: Don't worry about it. That's why I am here to help!
Orion: Umm… but you guys just want to make some normal sweets, right?
end Choices
Orion: Anyway, it was Sawa who asked you to join. You can't just invite Luka without checking with her first…
Sawa: Well, then, how about we make them as a group of four?
Orion: S-Sawa…!? Are you sure…?
Luka: Oh, she gets it! You are a truly wonderful friend.
Toma: Sawa, don't just invite him like that. We still have no idea who this person is.
Sawa: No worries, I've been wondering for a bit if I've seen him around before…
You were the one who decorated the cake at the Christmas party, right?
Luka: You're correct. That reminds me, you were…
The one who couldn't wait for the cake to be finished, right?
Sawa blushes
Sawa: Ah… you caught that, huh? How embarrassing.
Orion: A connection point…! I mean, we met back then too, so I guess it’s not really that surprising…
Sawa: If he got the green light for that, there's no chance this school would bring on someone with a sketchy background.
You saw the Christmas cake too, right, Toma? Wow, I can't believe someone with such awesome skills is about to join us…!
Chances like this are pretty rare, and don't you want to eat something delicious too, Toma?
Toma: I'm happy with whatever as long as it’s from Y/N…
Luka: Not just "whatever" will suffice. Of course, you'd be happier if you got something beautiful!
Toma: S-Sure…
Luka: Good. Now that we've decided, let's meet in the kitchen after school. Let's make something beautiful together!
Sawa: Yes!
Orion: Y-Yes…
Place: School dorms — Heroine's room
Orion: I honestly didn't think we'd bump into Luka so often…
But now we keep bumping into him like every day lately.
Stones hit the window
Orion: …Did you hear that noise from outside now too? Don't tell me…
…..
…Maybe I was just imagining it? It's already nighttime after all…
Whatever, at first it was just the three of you, but then, out of nowhere, more girls jumped in too…
It's as if you guys went to a chocolate-making class after school. Speaking about that…
Even with all those people around, watching Luka still engage with everyone really changed my view of him for the better. Even if it's just a bit—
Another stone hits the window
Orion: …..
…I heard that strange noise again. Looks like there's actually someone there…
What do we do, Y/N? There's only one person I can think of who might pull this off, or more like, only one person who would actually do it…
Choices
1) I'll look outside the window.
2) …Can you do me a favor, Orion?
— I'll look outside the window.
Orion: …Okay, but we still don't really know who the person is for sure.
Take a quick look through the curtains, and if we see someone, we can figure out our next move.
…There was nobody there. That's strange; I totally thought Luka would be out there.
If he wasn't there, it might not have been him, but it's still weird…
— …Can you do me a favor, Orion?
Orion: You're right, I can distance myself from you a little bit…
Okay, I'll do it. I'll go check, and you stay here.
I checked outside, Y/N. But… Luka wasn't there.
end Choices
Orion: Was it really just my imagination after all? Maybe Lukas has been playing around with me so much that I'm overreacting now…
Someone knocks on the door
Orion: Nn…! That's a bit earlier than normal today, but I guess it's just the teacher on patrol.
Luckily you're in your room like you're supposed to.
Y/N opens the door
Luka: Jeez, why didn't you open the window? I was waiting in the cold for you to come out...
Orion: W-Wait! What are you hugging her for!? Get away from Y/N!
Luka: Ah, I'm sorry. I was just looking for warmth, yet I ended up doing something as bold as this.
Orion: What do you mean "just"!? I knew it was Luka out there just a moment ago… Geez, and we let our guard down!
Luka: To be honest, Y/N, my heart has ached to see you again.
That is why I simply decided to stop by and fill in the blanks.
Orion: Not only did he barge into her room without asking, but he hugged her too!? That's it; I'm taking back what I said earlier!
Luka: I know I see you every day after school, but our opportunities to talk have decreased significantly.
If opportunities do not present themselves, we must create them. Nothing can possibly separate me from you, Y/N.
Orion: There are signs, but you're just ignoring them!
Aghh, I wish he could hear me… Y/N, you need to give him a good riposte in my place!
Choices
1) The teacher will come by soon.
2) This is the girls' dormitory, you know…
— The teacher will come by soon.
Luka: Well then, I will simply hide somewhere for the time being. That way, we can get away with it, correct?
— This is the girls' dormitory, you know…
Luka: Hm? I know. You're here after all, so it's obvious.
Orion: And he just brushed it off that easily…! At least pretend like you're a bit flustered about it!
end Choices
Someone knocks on the door
Luka: ….. !
Ukyo: Sorry, Y/N. There's something I'd like to ask you. Could you please open the door?
Luka: Don't open it. You cannot allow a man to enter at this hour.
If you let your guard down for even a moment, you never know what he'll do to you.
Orion: …You should say the exact same back to him.
Ukyo: …Y/N? ...From outside, I thought I saw the light on...
Hey, Y/N? Are you there?
…..
There's no answer, even though I'm sure her lights were on before. If something were to happen to her...
I have to use the spare key in this case...!
Luka: A spare key? To think he would dare to use something like this to gain himself access to your room…
Could you please wait here for a moment, Y/N?
I'm truly disappointed in you, Ukyo-sensei! Aren't you supposed to be a teacher loved by your students!?
Ukyo: Ah…! Luka, what were you doing in Y/N's room!?
Luka: I came here to see her. Isn't that obvious?
Ukyo: T-That's bad. Someone told me that a strange person had gone into the girls' dorm, which is why I went to check it out for myself!
Luka: Then that was not me. Nobody would dare to call me "suspicious" to begin with.
Ukyo: I don't think it could have been anyone else. The person who called said they saw them on this floor.
Luka: Haha, no way. Calling me suspicious is truly a twisted joke.
Ukyo: I'm sure they were serious about it… Either way, I can't let you stay here any longer, no matter what!
I'm sorry Luka seems to have given you trouble, Y/N.
I'll take care of him and bring him with me. Lock your door and go to bed just to be safe.
Luka: You cannot do that. I've only just arrived and haven't had time to speak with her properly...
Ukyo: Sure, sure. I'll listen to whatever you have to say as long as I get you out of here first.
Well then… Good night, Y/N.
Luka: Ukyo-sensei, please stop grabbing the fur like that!
Ukyo: If I don't, you'll run away. Seriously… I thought you had left, but to think you were hiding in a place like this…
Once we're out of here, I'll let the headmaster give a lecture that you can already prepare for!
Luka: P-Please don't… If I'm ordered to run 100 laps around the track again, I'll die!
Ukyo: Ah… I'm sure the only reason he made you run before was to train your mind.
Luka: Your headmaster must be a sadist. He should know I'm not a sportsperson…!
Door closes
Orion: Finally, it's over…
I'm super happy Ukyo-sensei was around to take care of this situation… but…
For him to actually show up at the girls' dorms just goes to show how much he wanted to see you…
Ah!? No, I can't feel sorry for someone like that; he's obviously bad!
But it did sound like the punishment would be harsh…
—13th February
Sawa: Haa, tomorrow's the big day—Valentine's Day!
Mine: Finally. Everyone has gotten a lot better at baking with Lukas's help...
Sawa: He didn't need to be so picky about my decorations, though.
Mine: Ah, yeah. He also warned me about how much pressure to use to squeeze the cream…
Sawa: “The baked sweets need to have a perfect balance; otherwise, the sponge will puff up…”
If it was even a little burnt or messed up, you had to start over… that was really tough.
Orion: That's why everyone got super serious as soon as they began measuring their ingredients…
Mine: But hey, because of that, all three of us ended up making perfect cakes.
Sawa: Honestly, I don't even want to give it away anymore now. Maybe I'll just eat it myself…
Mine: Sawa… Usually, I'd be pretty surprised by what you just said… but this time I'm on the same page as you.
It was so much work to do, though… which is the main reason I need to give it to someone!
Sawa: You're right. Okay, let's give this our best tomorrow.
Mine: Yes! Let's give it our all!
Luka: W-Wait right there!
Luka sprints over
Luka: …Haa, thank goodness. I made it on time...!
Mine: Luka… Is something wrong?
Luka: Yes… I'm sorry, but could you come with me for a moment?
This is an urgent matter for me; there isn't time to explain.
Orion: W-Why does he seem a little more serious than usual…?
Sawa: I don't really know what's up, but I think you should go with him.
Choices
1) Yes, I'll go.
2) Then, I'll leave the cake with you.
— Yes, I'll go.
Luka: Thank you. Well then, follow me.
— Then, I'll leave the cake with you.
Sawa: You're right. I'll drop it off in your—
Luka: N-No, it would be troublesome if you don't bring it!
Orion: Eh? That's weird… Isn't he in a hurry?
end Choices
Luka: I'll be borrowing Y/N then.
Sawa: Yes, I'll make sure to secure you an evening meal too, Y/N!
Mine: Please let us know if you're going to be late.
Orion: It's so great to have these two as friends. Alright, we're off!
Place: Outside — Rose Garden
Orion: …Seriously though, what happened? Does he need help or something…?
Luka: …..
Orion: Hm…? Why did Luka suddenly stop here?
Luka: Well… It may be a day early, but I don't think it's a huge deal.
Orion: …..?
Luka: Do you… know what I mean?
Orion: I'm sorry, I don't understand anything he's trying to say… Do you?
Choices
1) What do you mean, exactly?
2) Didn't you have an urgent matter?
— What do you mean, exactly?
Luka: Err… What I mean is that I'd like you to give me your artwork as a present.
Orion: …When he says "artwork," is he talking about the cake you made?
Luka: Look, right here. The rose garden is simply glowing under the current setting sun… Isn't this the perfect scenario?
— Didn't you have an urgent matter?
Luka: This is the matter. You can't possibly give your artwork to a man who doesn't understand its value, right?
Orion: No, even if he insists on it… I mean, after all this exaggeration…
He can't just come up and ask you, "I want your cake," can he…?
end Choices
Luka: Now's the perfect time! Together, let's embark on this new adventure in a location as lovely as a rose garden!
Ah… I shouldn't. I was about to become overly obsessed with beauty once again.
But… the sun will set soon.
Orion: What is he even saying…? Can't we just go back home pretending this never happened?
Luka: …..
If you're hesitant to give it to me, does that mean you'd rather give it to someone else?
Or are you merely trying to hide your embarrassment again? In that case I prefer the second option…
Orion: Hm…? I figured he'd be his usual assertive self, but he's not…
Luka: …..
Actually, when I told someone about you before, Y/N, they were quite angry with me.
I was told that if I didn't show consideration for others, they might end up disliking me... which is why… I'm a little scared.
You did an excellent job making Valentine's Day sweets…
But you said you were going to give it to the boy named Toma, right?
The cake you created is stunning indeed, but…
…If it was created with someone other than me in mind, it would make me sad.
Luka: I love beautiful things, but… I wouldn't want to destroy it.
…Of course, if I did that, you would despise me, right? Especially given the amount of time you spent on it.
As you took the cake and began to leave, a sudden sense of unease came over me...
That's when I started wondering if perhaps I could get my hands on it before it was given to another man…
…..
…Isn't that an ugly thought?
Choices
1) That's not true.
2) I don't care about that.
— That's not true.
Luka: …I never thought you'd say that. Do you truly believe that these feelings are even slightly beautiful?
If I were able to show you in a visible form what I am currently feeling inside of me…
I believe you'd be surprised by how ugly it would be...
— I don't care about that.
Luka: …If I could be more like that, this would be easier for me as well. Unfortunately, it cannot be that way for me.
Up until now, I had judged things and people based merely on their beauty.
Something like this has never happened to me before… This is the first time I'm not sure how to respond.
end Choices
Orion: He's been playing games with you all this time, and now he's saying things like this…
…..
…It feels as if Luka's one of those guys you can't help but like; it's hard to hate him.
Luka: …Leaving things half-finished is the least beautiful thing there is. Okay, fine… I'll be straight with you.
That cake you made, I—
Shin: Hey, you. What are you doing here with Y/N?
Orion: Ah, Shin and Toma…
Toma: Y/N, weren't you with Sawa and the others just a bit ago?
Shin: It was likely this guy who said something smooth to break them apart.
Luka: Could you both be quiet for a moment? I'm having an important conversation with her right now.
Shin: I won't keep quiet, and you seriously shouldn't hang out with someone like this dude either.
Toma: The sun's about to set, so let's head back to the dorms for today, okay?
Luka: I will not… allow you two to take her away from me!
Shin: Hey, let go. We said we're taking her with us now.
Luka: And you think I'll simply say "alright, sure" and let go of her hand?
Orion: W-Wait, don't yank Y/N around like that!
Toma: Aren't you being a bit immature? By competing with us, I mean.
Luka: You're the ones competing here. On top of that, it's extremely cowardly to have a 2 vs 1 in this matter...!
Shin: Just let go of her hands; that's all you need to do. Y/N is coming back with us.
Orion: Neither is good right now! We need to stop this before you… Ah!
Toma: Hm…? You dropped something, Y/N. What is it…?
Luka: Aghhh! Hey, you guys! What have you done with Y/N's precious artwork!?
Shin: “Artwork”...? Ah, that reminds me, didn't you take art as an elective subject?
Toma: Did you make this in class...? Then I hope it's not broken...
Luka: No, it was fragile from the start; the impact just now must have broken it for sure.
Toma: What was in there? Y/N, can I open it…?
Shin: This is… a cake, right? It kinda lost its shape, though.
Toma: Cake? Don't tell me… is this the Valentine's Day cake you made with Sawa?
Luka: Of course it is! Ah, my god. It was such a beautifully shaped cake as well…!
Orion: It's not like you can't eat it anymore, but…
Choices
1) You are cruel…
2) I worked so hard on this.
— You are cruel…
Toma: I-I'm sorry. I'll make sure to eat all of it!
Shin: …Why are you keeping it to yourself? I'll own up to what happened too.
Luka: Even if its beauty fades, Y/N, the taste remains unchanged. Please cheer up.
— I worked so hard on this.
Luka: It may be impossible to restore it, but your efforts will not be in vain.
Whatever form it may be in, I'll make sure to eat it all!
Toma: No, don't bother. Shin and I are going to eat it.
Shin: Exactly. It's better if he wasn't there anyways.
Luka: Whatever either of you says, I'll eat it!
end Choices
Luka: Now that I can eat it, everything will go as planned because I wanted to get this cake from her anyhow!
Shin: You wanted this, huh…? Is that why you guys were here together?
Toma: Let's head back to the dorms, you two. We can eat and enjoy the cake there.
Luka: Hold on. You cannot simply leave me out of this.
I'll make sure to follow you to the dorms then! This way, you will be unable to escape!
Both: …..
Orion: If this keeps up, it's gonna be a lot more exhausting when you guys head back to the dorms together…
It could've gone a different way, but hey, maybe it's best that they all get to enjoy the cake together.
Even though Luka was all serious for a bit, he totally went back to being his usual self again.
After all of that, I guess you can at least try the cake you made yourself too, right…?
