Update
So this summer has been quite eventful (not in a good way to be honest). After a horrific amount of blood, sweat and tears ive unfortunately had to withdraw from my exchange placement this coming term. The amount of money thats needed for these kind of placements is disgusting, coming from a background thats not particularly wealthy, it was merely impossible to fund my exchange in canada. It was a shame to come to this but there was no other way. The unfair conditions of having to pay outright for halls in canada for rent instead of monthly options was the main reason i had to withdraw - basically wanting me to pay £2k at once. There were so many problems that it was starting to become a burden so i had to cut loose ends essentially. I guess that i can save a shit ton of money by staying in glasgow and continue developing my work within the same areas. My plan for 3rd year is to become more aware of spaces but branching more into people and social spaces (that link with looks of urban areas). I want my work to become more object like and sculptural but still with the use of google maps street view and forms of painting. September cant come quick enough tbh im bored as fuck

Current Work
My current practice focuses mainly on voids that are left within destructive and constructed spaces. These spaces being a manipulation and constant shift of scarring within our urban landscape.
Mapping and online imagery that document these spaces also leave false impressions of what these contexts represent - which direct and contribute to the mass manipulation of the urban environment.
Online documentation such as mapping programmes allow us to search through these voids overtime as they no longer remain prominent in their space. My work refers to this idea and process in using mapping to construct my own response to extended derelict voids/space. (More photos of exhibition work to follow)
