Que Terror

I’ve been putting a lot more time aside to focus on illustration and digital art again. I recently picked up an iPad Pro and I’m starting to learn to digitally paint without a guiding pencil sketch underneath. I’m also playing around with using lines less in general. I’m quite happy with how this little floating avocado turned out.

Here's a Que Terror tee order I shipped out recently along with a post-it note doodle to say thanks. In fact this is how my doodles and quote project #TouchingDoodles started, as a post it note thank you gift I was going to throw in a future order. This is the Forest tee from my La Noche release - a series of tees and hoodies that tell the story of children kidnapped by the hands of the night sky.

I did a fun wittle collab with the editor of www.TheVocal.com.au. She wrote and I doodled. Facebook introduced a bunch of emoji like "reactions" as its answer to everyone hounding them for a dislike button. We felt the 6 reactions Facebook dreamed up were a bit lame so we created our own. I thought I'd reintroduce myself. I'm an illustrator who loves exploring the confounding parts of life. My work tends to be darkly surreal but also always filled with a bit of naive whimsy. I design for my clothing line #QueTerror and make tees that tales inspired by the terrifying bits of life. My newest series #LaNoche is a story about children kidnapped by the hands of the night sky. I'm also doing a daily challenge for a year called #TouchingDoodles. Every day I create a doodle on a post it note and pair it with a thoughtful, silly or sad quote. I want to make you think and laugh and hopefully leave you feeling touched. Outside of that I love traveling and exploring (like most people who are lucky enough to have the chance), I'm a hip hop aficionado, I adore great fiction, I love concocting stories and I do my best to care about other people. As a child I used to lay awake at night and stare at the stars while making up millions of little stories. Some were dark and some were ridiculous and others surreal. Sometimes the breeze would bring the smell of jasmine to my window while my mind explored these other little worlds. It's sort of beautifully strange how some of the best moments traveling have everything to with with just having time with people rather than the fact you're in an exotic place. This shot is from one of those kind of afternoons while in Italy with my girl. We just sat on the couch in our apartment and laughed till out bellies hurt after a long and tiring day of exploring.
