We become so identified with the way we see the world that we stop asking ourselves one simple question: What if I’m only seeing this from where I stand?

I was recently in a conversation with someone who viewed a part of my life through a very specific, judgmental lens. I could genuinely understand why they felt the way they did. Their feelings made sense from where they were standing.

But it also reminded me how easy it is to mistake perspective for reality.

What if, instead of clinging to being right, we became curious? What if we had the humility to step back and imagine the view from above instead of only the view from our position?

When we pause, breathe, and create a little space, something beautiful happens. We can acknowledge another person’s feelings without making them the whole truth. We can honor our own experience without insisting it’s the only valid one.

That space is where grace lives. Grace for ourselves. Grace for others. Grace to recognize we’re all looking through different windows at the same landscape.

And perhaps wisdom isn’t about having the right perspective—perhaps it’s about remembering that every perspective is incomplete until love, curiosity, and humility enter the conversation.
