I've seen a lot of people saying they're losing hope on Rhaenicent bc of the Rhaesaria scene. But dare I say I've never been higher on that cocaine? I'm reaching but who cares?
Mysaria grabbing Rhaenyra's arm like Alicent did in the previous episode (notice how it was her right arm and not the left one). Purposeful asf! We've seen them talk but it's the first time we're shown Rhaenyra seeking Mysaria before (in her chamber too). It's very suspicious how it finally happened once Alicent (the person she did that for) is gone.
Rhaesaria isn't going to last. I think we all know that. Mysaria betrayed Rhaenyra in the book. They've pretty much set it up. She hides things from Rhaenyra, she moves behind her back. Her conversations with Alicent and Sylvi. And now, she moves full manipulation-mode for her interests. She's putting a blindfold on Rhaenyra, she's getting too confident and it's gonna backfire in her face.
Sunfyre is back. Helaena is gonna die next episode. The smallfolks is angry. Ulf switched sides. Tumbleton will fragilize the Blacks again. Rhaenyra's downfall is near. On one hand, it will make her doubt herself and maybe by extension Mysaria as well. Mysaria isn't gonna follow her on that path. She's power-hungry and once she'll have realized Rhaenyra won't benefit her anymore, she's gonna abandon her.
There is the matter of Helaena Rhaenyra is supposed to look after. I've already said that I think Mysaria will be (partly) responsible for her death. From where I stand, I see two possibilities: she does something regarding the pregnancy behind her back, or she convinces Rhaenyra to do it. Sneaking moontea in her food. Threatening to kill her baby the second he is born if she doesn't use her dreams for Rhaenyra. (I'm amadant of this one and I think Helaena will kill herself pregnant to avoid this). Either way, Helaena dies without it being Rhaenyra's wish and it's a big wake up for Rhaenyra about her delusion and Mysaria.
Now, let's move on to Alicent. I don't think her arc in Harrenhal is over yet. Olivia mentionned that Alicent's interaction with Mysaria and Alys will be the ones who affects Alicent the most. Alys and Alicent haven't had face-to-face conversation yet. Alicent can't have gone too far from Harrenhal already. So the hallucinations can still happen.
Alicent tried to kill Aemond and failed. I feel like someone is gonna reveal her deal with Rhaenyra to Aegon when he reaches King's Landing. Cole is dead. Ormund is gonna die soon. According to Freddie, Gwayne makes it to S4, he (and Daeron if they change his death) seems to be the only way Alicent has if she considers going back to the Greens (which I don't think she will) and Gwayne isn't even that much of a green believer himself. So what Alicent has left is running away alone (and being dragged back into the mess anyway) now or going to the Red Keep for Helaena and being faced with Rhaenyra again (which is what I think will happen).
Once Helaena dies, what does Alicent have left? She will be broken beyond repairs. She has betrayed her entire family for her, even if she wanted to, there is very little chance she can cling to the them again (at least not in early S4). I don't think she will be leave right after coming back to King's Landing.
Where I'm heading is that between the point we currently are at and the time Rhaenyra is forced to run away from King's Landing, they might end up clinging onto one another as a last hope. It would be pure desperation. Their love for each other will never fully died, it's been established, but I'm seeing this more as a "We can't be what we once were but we're both fucked, we didn't get what we wanted and each other is all that we have left. If we at least want to survive, we have to stick together." Maybe they will weirdly unite in child grieving.
I don't think all of that build up they set up in this season will be thrown away like that. (At least, that's what I want to believe.)
Is there too much resentment between them for this alliance to last all the way through S4? Yes. Do I see it happening for a little while? Also yes.
The show is centered around Rhaenyra and Alicent. So even if my predictions turn out wrong and they fully turned their back on each other, it will still be about them. Even if nothing explicitly romantic happens between them, even if Alicent gives up on Rhaenyra after Helaena's death, even if Rhaenyra finds comfort in another woman, it still be about them. Their love will haunt each other until the end because it's their tragedy.
