Orpheus looking back is a metaphor for never being able to move on from the past. saying "kevin didnt look back" implies that kevin stopped thinking about jean once he lost him the first time. he didnt. he lost jean a second time bc he DID look back. he finally had him back but he looked back and saw that there was too much between them, good and bad and ugly, for them to ever make things right. he looked back and gave jean to jeremy, losing him a second time. because, just like orpheus, kevin looked back.

crying myself to sleep bc i started the book i was so hyped to read but the author uses misogynists slurs more than he uses given names so now i have to search for something else
the way i immediately become jean moreau when i read some kevin takes here on tumblr you don't understand i have to log off to stop myself from being mean to people i don't even know
kevin loves winning. being with the foxes made him realize that he likes getting called "the number one" or "the best striker". after years of being forced to call himself second best he now loves having the chance to show that he is good enough to proudly wear the crown of the exy court. and he wanted to show it by winning a game after having the best backliner as a mark for a whole half time. he once knew jean moreau like the back of his hand. knew the way his body moved on the court better than anyone else. but the jean in gold and red that he faced half an hour ago was a stranger with a face he could draw with closed eyes. a stranger that knew his thoughts and moves because to him kevin was still the same beautiful stupid boy that studied the way jean's lips moved to get the right pronunciation of tricky french words. the foxes still won, jean couldnt stop kevin every time he tried to get close to the goal without his raven's tricks, and jean wasnt a raven anymore, but kevin couldnt stop thinking about all the goals he could have scored but couldnt get past jean to do so.
“if you're still thinking about the stupid game i'm going to kick you out” the words are whispered, jean doesn't need to be loud when his face is this close to kevin's skin, rosy marks blooming every time jean's lips get away from his neck
“you're calling it stupid just because you lost” kevin opens his eyes and takes jean's face between his hands, looking at his grey irides. the way jean leans down to kiss his lips makes kevin push the match in a corner of his mind for a while. having the best backliner between his arms feels just as rewarding as winning against his favorite team.
How did you like Thea’s scene in TGR?
i liked her being rude to the reporters (fuck reporters always!!) and i liked that her presence shifted the attention from jean but i didnt like /her/. i didnt need the reminder that she will forever be loyal to riko's ravens ("you’ve ruined everything he gave you and stained his legacy beyond repair"), i still think kevin deserves better than having by his side a person that will never acknowledge the severity of the abuse both kevin and jean faced because of riko ("the king is an asshole and a bully, but he would never go this far' thea said. "not to his court." -tsc)

kevin was being straightforward with jeremy. he wasnt expressing his opinion, he was just telling jeremy why no one could have reported what was happening to jean: jean being 16 means that without him speaking out against the ravens no report would have been legitimate. ex: if he was 13 and one of the ravens told the police what was happening they could have done something about it bc even if jean tried to defend the ravens it wouldnt have mattered, he could not consent at 13. but at 16 he had to repot it himself, he had to use his voice and we know he would never have done that, he could not betray them, thats what kevin was trying to tell him (“He would have embraced the Ravens’ lies no matter how much it killed him to accept the blame. I have heard it before,” he insisted when Jeremy started to argue. “I will not listen to it again.”). thats not justifing, thats just being straightforward
