Long story short: Lucy is a succubus demon who's also a runaway from the Abyss. She remembers bits and pieces about her past life there, but most of it is blurred and long forgotten.
Her name was chosen by Lucy herself, as due to the memory loss after the escape she couldn't remember her real one either. Since strangers often mistook her for a devil (thanks to her sharp horns and long tail), she leaned into their mistake, choosing "Lucy" as a playful twist on "Lucifer". The mocking nod to the confusion around her origins also turned into the symbol of her break from the Abyss for her ever since.
Lucy is a wild magic sorcerer..which doesn’t make her spellcasting game any safer. She loves experimenting with the new spells and almost every time she tries magic, something backfires terribly (her bond with the creepy dark shadow entity is a direct result of this, but that’s a story for another time 👀)
Weapons? Not her thing either. Which doesn’t exactly help the group in any way, too. Add in her enormous fear of spiders, questionable daily life choices, and a strong tendency towards the chaos - and you’ll get the best (worst) possible companion you could've ever wished to have in your group 🙈
But she’s also cute. Aand funny. And even if you don't like her, she'll somehow manage to charm you into thinking that you do 💕
