I am working hard on my resolutions for the New Year and one of them is to spend less time on tumblr and focus more on actual writing so... I will be even slower than usual. Thank you all for understanding! 

Rapunzel nodded. She had never been good at making acquaintances, meeting strangers made her uneasy. She blamed mother for that, the years in that dreadful tower. “I have found that there are almost too many people for my liking”, the young woman admitted, allowing herself something akin to a smile. She draw another breath to ask about his reasons for being within the city - simply out of curiosity -  But the next moment she is on the ground, her ears ringing with noise, and he is above her, protecting her, shielding her. There is dust in her eyes and shouting all aroudn them. It takes her a few heartbeats to understand what has happened. And anger rises in her throat, bile already upon her tongue. He heaves her upwards and Rapunzel finds her feet again, on shaking legs.  “Yes, let us hurry”, she reaches for his sleeve, tugging, as her steps turn towards a dark alleyway. It may not seem like the best escape route, but though she has not seen much of this city she knows the few ways that go down towards the water. “Have you seen what happened? Who did this?” Maybe, a voice whispered in her head, they should have stayed to help. But Rapunzel knows better. Heroes get killed, like Konstantin... Fear tried to grip her heart... what if the faceless men had found her? But no, the anger replies, this is not their handwriting. The cool shadow of the pathway falls over them and Rapunzel finally takes a deep breath, “Were you hurt?”, she turns to him - the stranger who’s name she does not even know - “When you shoved me out of harm’s way? Were you hurt then?”

I am having feelings about this found family and I am not okay with that. I also have no clue if I want to write one of them on this site... but alas I shall ignore my feelings and write down some headcanons for Flora to approve. and then I am here tonight.

“I was once a Queen", she tilts her head only slightly, eyes watching a scene that has long passed as the ghost muses over the reply given, “but no one came to help me when they locked me up” She stops in her movement, blinks to come back into the present, the here & now. The girl in front of her seems honest, trustworthy even. And that strikes her as odd. But what is that? The present? When time is infinite and you have no way of marking its passing? “I could wonder what makes this new queen so worthy of help but songs of glory have always tired me. Instead have this question: Why here, and why now? What help can be found in this prison of all places?

        “It is apleasure to be meeting you, Udyati“, Rebecca smiles once last timebefore turning her attention onto the road. She buckles in, flips thelights on and with a roar her car comes to life. It's an old thing,has definitely seen better days. Nothing compared to the Swan girl'sshiny yellow Oldtimer. But it's her car and the closest thing to homeshe has. Which is a strange thought. But it's been a strange evenig,though it occurs to her that meeting someone new should not be such ahighlight. „Anyway“, her car picks up speed as Rebecca tries torekindle the conversation, „I know my way around town, being ajournalist and all, so if there is anything you need, any tips forplaces to see, hit me up and I will be more than happy to give you atour around town.“ Maybe, she thinks to herself, even if a touraway from town. Has she ever done that before? Rebecca cannotremember but right now she can't even remember if she made that offerto Udyati already. A strange fog is settling into her brain and itmakes her more uneasy with every passing minute. „I thought abouthiking tomorrow, that is always something I can reccommend. And ifGranny becomes too nosy just let me know, too. She's an old woman, soshe is curious by nature. But she does not share her secrets, whichalways makes her a hard nut to crack for me.“

Heleneallowed her magic to calm down a little, relaxing her hands – onlyto cross her arms in front of her chest. „There's not much out hereworth a destination, so where were you attempting to end up? I canpoint you back to the road, but you need to leave.“ Before he heardany whispers, she was quite protective of those.

a burst of energy heralded her arrival, trees quivering as the make-shift portal collapsed, spitting her into the dirt of this world. A world that was not unlike her own and yet so very different. Once her kin had walked here, the Aen Seidhe, now humans build palaces atop their bones. Hulda scoffed at that thought, rising on shaky legs to take her first steps on new soil.  At first she had been angry that the new king’s attention lay on things so far from their court and its troubles, but in this moment with leaves sticking in her hair and mud upon her dress the former lady was more than thankful for the absence of spectators. Her insights were still churning and her meak attempt at a stable portal would have made even Caranthir, that dreadful golden child, crack a smile.  She might not have been as talented as the Red Rider’s trusted general, but she was just as determined, so as soon as her bones felt like they were cut from marble again, instead of being made out of sand, she closed her eyes, spread her thoughts and her mind into this new world, this new magic, and the thousands upon thousands of mortal dreams that floated around her.  After all she was as much a ghost as she was a woman and even if she could not step through time and place with the simple shrug of her shoulders, her mind wandered upon mist and snowdrift easily. “Cirilla”, she whispered into the minds of many, hoping to find just the one, “Cirilla”, a name that had been whispered in the halls of the Aen Elle for many a day, “Answer me, child, I beg of you. For I came far and wide to speak to you”
