King of the Mountain.*

All of them except for a young boy (maybe about 10 or 11), and his dog.

The two of them walked along the sidewalk, completely umbrella-less, completely drenched and completely happy.

The smiles on both of their faces were huge and genuine and radiated from the inside out.    

I’ve committed myself to a new workout plan which I started today.

Well, it’s not as much of a workout plan in the traditional sense as it is me blasting House of Pain's "Jump Around" at various points during the day, and jumping every time instructed to do so.

  That's a lot of jumping.

1. People that spell “Whoa!”

2. People that spell “Woah!”

I’m still early in my research phase, but as far as I can tell, people that put the ‘h’ right after the ‘w’ tend to be inquisitive, insightful and enjoy long walks on the beach. On the other hand, people who put the ‘h’ on the end appear to be more spontaneous, extroverted and enjoy short sprints along the lake.

My brother and I decided to take a quick weekend road trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota to do some sightseeing, and specifically, to see Mount Rushmore.

My first thought upon seeing the towering presidential faces was, “Hey! That’s pretty cool!”

My second thought was, “I wonder if they sell churros here.”

Some of those things are as follows:

-I am grateful for my large glass mixing bowl that doubles as a cereal bowl when I want to create “Super Cereal.” Tonight’s Super Cereal included a mix of Fruit Loops, Kixx, Honey Comb and Cheerios (for heart health. Obviously.)

-I am grateful that when I call my dad in Arizona, he answers the phone with  “What’s up, Boo-Boo?” I’m not sure why he calls me Boo-Boo, but I think it might have something to do with my shocking resemblance to an anthropomorphic bear and my penchant for blue bow ties. Just a guess.

-I am thankful that my brother, who now lives with me, is really into romantic comedies. Whilst I do enjoy romance and comedies very much , if left to my own devices I would probably watch things like documentaries about sushi and escaping from Alcatraz all the time. (Did you guys see the documentary about the guy who escaped from Alcatraz, and then went on to become a sushi master who lived a life of relative obscurity in Japan? Probably not because I just made that up, but that would definitely be something I would watch.) Anyway, it’s because of my brother that I know the answer to questions like “Who is Julianne Hough?” and “What does Rachel McAdams look like when she’s crying?”

-I am thankful that I now have a lamp to illuminate the globe that sits on my bedside table. Sometimes, I’ll spin the globe, and then tell myself that whichever country is illuminated the most and catches my eye first will be added to my “Must Travel To Before I Die List.” Tonight when I spun it, the Seychelles caught my attention. I don’t know much about the Seychelles, but I can only assume they sell sea shells on the Seychelles.

-And, lastly (this is a very abbreviated list. I am thankful for a whole myriad of things, including the ease of access to an online thesaurus in which I can type “countless” and find the word “myriad” with great ease ), in this very moment I am grateful to have a comfortable bed, pajamas with tiny penguins on them and a big ol’ cup of peppermint tea to lull* myself to sleep.

So, I really need to brush up...

  ...on my cheesy math jokes!

(What do you call a guy that's been outside in the sun all day? A tan gent! Tan gent. Tangent. Ok, insert groan here.)

Also, I am definitely going to need some math- themed items and various  clothing pieces. A tee shirt referencing Pi, for sure. Possibly something involving a Beatles tie-in that states "I Get Pi With a Little Help From My Friends."  And, maybe another tee that alludes to farm animals doing math with cowculators. The possibilities are endless!

Or, should I say, the possibilities are ∞.
