I understand the fact that metamorphosis is a very important book that illustrates how disabilities can alienate you from society. I get that. However, if I woke up as a giant bug I’d probably think it was kinda cool. Opening a door closing a window kinda thing. Could be a famous circus attraction. There’s definitely no subtext behind a metaphor for a disability being a circus attraction.

I feel like people put too much weight on physical attractiveness. Most people I know that have relationships are just confident people all across the spectrum of attractiveness. You can be awkward, just be confidently awkward. Be confidently weird. For the love of god, just make a joke every once in a while. I see so many people complaining about not being in relationships when they have absolutely nothing interesting about themselves. Be interesting, and you’ll succeed.

Computers have killed the meet cute. Without giant stacks of books and papers, there is nothing to get mixed up and spend time awkwardly trying to sort while apologizing. If you bump into someone and drop your computer, the first thing you’ll think is, “oh shit my computer” not, “damn that persons cute better make this awkward as hell”. I will mourn the meet cute.
