Holy shit it can be so exhausting to be the disappointment kid
I love my sister, and I'm so happy I have one. But more than once I'm referred to as the "different" one, or as my parents love to jokingly say, the "tacky" one. My parents are constantly comparing me to my sister, constantly telling her to avoid EXACTLY what I have done. I'm so used to it that I forget how much it can hurt, until all of a sudden it catches up to me, and breaks my heart. I'm not allowed to have feelings because I'm the "tough" one. They can't hurt them, if they don't see them. It's just fucked up, and I just want to say to all of my fellow black sheep, that you're just as fucking great as your siblings, and you're probably twenty times happier because you're living for yourself. Stand tall, be fearlessly yourself, and love yourself.
