I think it’s time for a tumblr break.

I just fucking know that, like always, the second I start getting the courage to tell people around me that I'm really struggling with my bipolar depression it's going to get better and make me feel like my experiences were invalid and I was just being overdramatic and make me feel embarrassed.

I'm watching Pulgasari for the podcast tonight, which is an infamous North Korean 'kaiju' film in which the director was kidnapped and forced to make this movie. Understandably, it's difficult to find a decent cut of this movie. Some are rips of rips of rips and have poor sound and/or visual quality, some are not subbed in English, some are just straight up bootlegs. The "best" copy I could find online was a 4k restoration on Youtube, AKA AI upscale slop where the characters' faces and body parts morph (the youtube version is 3 years old). I'm watching a worse off copy of the movie, because I'd rather see a fuzzy picture than watch people's faces morph and change. I know the whole argument is "every day is the worst AI is going to look" but like jfc guys, you gotta really fuck up if I'd rather watch film grain. And I'm not even trying to be a purist here, the AI upscaled version just looks like absolute dogshit

a man chooses to end his life via assisted suicide because he's dealing with a debilitating, painful, chronic lifetime illness, and the internet cheers him on to kill himself because he was working on making amends for his edgelord missteps? am i reading this fucking right?
