i thought it was just the 15 year olds who hate on every single thing it/zy does for no reason when they don't know anything about them but i think i genuinely hate new kpop fans not for being young and obnoxious but for only having listened to groups from one or two companies which have so much ad money from b/t/s oreos they completely dominate the entire field right now yet make music that very distinctly lacks that "k-pop" sound (regardless of language).
so, when a clearly great kpop song comes out it gets 0 attention from "kpop fans" because they don't like the kpop sound, and when people who would like kpop get introduced to kpop, they get introduced to production line garbage that really does either "all sound the same" or exactly like whatever western radio slop was popular 3+ years ago. so people who had been kpop fans are leaving kpop/no longer paying attention to new releases, and new people who actually like the kpop sound are no longer coming in. i keep seeing korean youtube comments saying [or saying something to the effect of] "kpop is doomed", and i agree ☹️
