noun; a nickname for EXO-K's Kai that references his darker-toned skin. A combination of the verb meaning "to become black or very tanned" (까매지다) + Kai's real name, Jongin (종인). Many fans dislike the use of this name as it implies a sense of negativity towards his having dark skin and feel that the use of it is insensitive.

Before officially debuting, Girl's Day gained attention by holding flash mobs in Hongdae and Myungdong. Originally a five-member group, they have experienced several line-up changes and are now promoting with only four members. The accompanying music video gained popularity in it's own right, especially in the West, due to quirky imagery and humorous choreography and is currently the most viewed video on YouTube with 1.5 Billion views. It is considered by many to have single-handedly renewed interest, or in the case of Western audiences given new interest, in the K-Pop Wave across the world.
