I don’t want to clean the house

I want to be at home with you

Laying on your couch

Telling you my worries like they ever mattered at all

Hearing you tell stories of families fighting wars

We don’t have it bad you’d say

we have it really good

We’ve got love laughter and light and lots of yummy food

Loud music fills the lounge room as you catalog your life,

every book, movie and cd you owned written out atleast twice

Buying trinkets, toys and teddy bears for everyone you loved

You remind us daily that it’s okay to be kind

It’s okay to be full of love and leave all the bad behind

The last year we shared was dark and scary and you weren’t really there

But your soul was still so warm and kind, you never forgot your prayers.

I’ll miss you forever in more ways than I can say

To be seen as just a carer when I’m just a granddaughter who is hurting who is trying to make her hurting less

Imagine someone raising you and your children without complaint for 60 years and you not even having a days worth of energy for her ?
