Hi! It’s Kopi here and I think it’s about time that I did a reintroduction ^^’. I’ve had this account for about three years, and I think I’ve changed a bit during this time period. 

Some personal info:

I am 18 years old

I use they/them pronouns

I am a first year in college

My major right now is undeclared, but I am working on switching to business economics

If you are curious, I am 5ft 2.5″ (~159 cm)

My home base is in California, USA

I was born in the Philippines and immigrated here when I was young. 

Experience/Hobbies:

I have been studying French for four years. I started in 9th grade.

I have been studying Korean on/off for four years, I also started in 9th grade but am finally able to put my focus towards it this year. 

No, I was not taught how to speak Tagalog because my parents wanted me to have perfect English (no, my English is not perfect, I think it’s pretty bad) I do know some Tagalog where I can listen to a conversation but I can only respond in English.

I really like coffee for its taste, not the caffeine

I enjoy listening to Kpop, khip-hop, krnb, pop, etc. 

I have some experience subtitling videos on youtube (but stopped doing so because youtube removed the option for community captions :<)

I also enjoy anime. Some notable ones for me are One Piece (currently watching), Haikyuu, I hate being in pain so I maxed out my defense build, and kaguya-sama: love is war. 

I hope you enjoyed reading this updated introduction! I apologize for not being as active lately :< college exams and projects have all my attention at the moment. I am so thankful to those who’ve stuck around since the first year of this account, and I am also thankful to those who chose to join me along the way on my journey of being a langblr/studyblr. I plan to write up some updates about how quarantine college life is like for me and how I go about it, so please bear with me.

It's been a hot minute since I last posted on here. I am really sorry I kinda disappeared. Life got kinda crazy in the past three years since my last post. The transition from online university to in person university and the whirlwind that is life shifted my priorities. Thank you for sticking around despite my absence.

I am ashamed to say that I put a brief pause on my language studies in the past couple years as I had to focus on my mental health and passing my classes. However! I still practiced on my own time. Highly recommend keeping your social medias in your target language as it kept my reading skills and listening skills in shape. However my speaking skills have declined drastically and my vocabulary has shrunk due to the lack of use/in-depth practice. I will do my best to get back into language learning. My target language is back to French as I feel like my French has gotten worse over time and would like to get be back up to where I used to be at least. I will do my best to post more in my target languages, please forgive my mistakes and kindly send me feedback so I can improve as well.

I will not be super active on here, but I did want to give an update due to my disappearing without another word. I will try to post more, but I have also been just taking a step back from social media as a whole as I noticed I've been suffering from a lot of eye strain in the past couple years due to classes having 99% of the content/work being online and job hunting as well T^T.

Hello ! 

I have reappeared after a month ! I kinda had to disappear since a lot was going on in March and they required more of my attention. Things got so chaotic that I was only really able to decorate the spread for the first week of March. The rest of the weeks are essentially blank except for my schedule and the class blocks assigned for each day. My attention was pulled towards finals week T^T, my brain hurts just remembering what happened in the first half of March. I enjoyed spring break (though it was just a week) and I played a lot of Stardew Valley and laying around the house. The new quarter started March 29th, and so far my classes aren’t so bad which is nice. (I hope it stays like that throughout the quarter.) I will upload my April spread soon! I’m still setting up the class blocks and everything for the month. Please look forward to it :D Also, DPR IAN’s MITO album came out and I got so obsessed with it.

Hello ! I’m sure you all know what pronouns are but, do you know how to apply them in French ? In this post, we will be breaking down direct object pronouns and how to apply them. Let’s go!

First of all, what are the direct object pronouns ?

These pronouns are what you use to replace a noun in a sentence. These pronouns apply to people, animals, and objects.

The pronouns that you will be using are: me, te, le/la/l’, nous, vous, les .

How do you apply these pronouns in writing ?

You would place the pronouns after the subject and before the verb.

Ex:

     As-tu le livre ? Oui, je l’ai.

     Do you have the book? Yes, I have it.

As you see, the object of the first sentence has been replaced with the pronoun l’  in the following sentence. The book is the direct object in the sentence.

Let’s see the pronouns applied to people:

Ex:

      Iras-tu voir Brock aujourd’hui ? Oui, je l’irai aujourd’hui

      Will you see Brock today ? Yes, I will see him today.

The same rule applies because Brock is the direct object. 

Let’s try a more complex example:

Ex:

     Sophie lost her books yesterday. She found them in her room.

     Hier, Sophie a perdu ses livres. Elle les a trouvé dans sa chambre.

Even though the sentences may be longer, the same rule applies here. The books in the first sentence were replaced with the pronouns in the second sentence and the rest of the information followed. Don’t forget to make sure you are using the correct pronouns of the direct object.

Note: In this situation, adjectives can be replaced with direct objects as well.

Ex: 

      Il est un chef ? Oui, il l’est.

      He’s a chef ? Yes, he's a chef.

Also, there are some verbs in French that are considered as direct verbs, but are considered as indirect verbs in English due to the preposition that follows the verb.

Some verbs are: regarder (to look at) , écouter (to listen to), demander (to ask for), etc..

And that’s it today for direct object pronouns ! It wasn’t so bad right ? I hope I was able to explain the pronouns well enough for you guys to easily understand them. This will help you guys improve your writing and make it be more natural. I strongly recommend getting used to them and practicing them a lot so they become super easy for you. This was from midterms week :<

I kept it relatively simple because I was so busy but I was able to write down a lot of good things that happened that week. The second half of midterms part one was a bit rough. Honestly on Tuesday, I kinda lost it and just stared at my monitor while listening to the Mii Lounge Music for about 2 hours. I was so overwhelmed with stress that I couldn't function for a little bit. When I so stressed that I gave up on working on my essays and went for a nice walk. Luckily, I am now free from midterms for just a week and now I’m being thrown into midterms pt 2. yayyyyy we love the quarter system.... Hopefully I am able to survive the quarter. I mean.. I got this far, right ? How’ve you been ? Hope you’ve been taking care of yourselves !
