okay sooo i'd say it's different for everyone and i can only speak for myself when i say that it's very enjoyable when your partner knows what they're doing and is as into it as you are. sex for me is about connecting with my man and feeling closer to him physically and emotionally but also EVERY SINGLE TIME doesn't have to be suuuper romantic and emotionally deep because sometimes he's just really hot and i just wanna jump his bones lmao ๐ญ some people don't really enjoy sex that much because maybe they aren't sexually compatible with their partner or they haven't figured out what feels good to them etc. but it can be mind blowing (not an exaggeration) if you both know what works for you and you're both really into each other, at least in my experience
i do also think that media (like romcoms for example) and fanfic specifically will always set the bar super high for intimacy because it's fiction and its purpose is to make you happy and fulfill those specific inner desires. it's not always realistic and things aren't always as quick and easy (and CLEAN ๐ซฃ) as it's portrayed. however i don't necessarily think that's a bad thing because that's the whole reason why people read fanfic and watch cheesy romance movies in the first place. the messier, clumsier parts of sex irl is what makes it more personal and less robotic and planned out, so i actually quite enjoy that
