i might be the first person in the fucking world to draw butch4femme shallare x anshine but i don't care that just means i'm innovative.
some context for this art is that sheldon and mason used to be smokers before... everything happened. smoking is frankly an unpleasant nothingburger for most of the points considering they lack lungs, but for these two, it's comforting - it just feels familiar somehow. anshine doesn't smoke almost ever because they know it's "not a good habit" and it "isn't great for their image", but when them and shallare are alone, it's a different story... and stars above, maybe there's something in the cigarettes shallare gives them, maybe it's just shallare themselves, but it comforts them. even when almost nothing else can anymore.
also [insert other lore reasons for shallare x anshine in K!AF2] but i won't bother you with the details :-d
im pretty sure no one gaf but i have nothing to post rn so!
this is cara (from carambola / star fruit) maytown resident OC. 0 plot relevance 0 awareness of the horrors. maybe 1 pointification potential, but probably not. maybe 4 potential of becoming an angel in star sanctuary but i didn't think that far lived in the same town as SS1 before ending up at maytown and reconnecting (and then the horrors happened soooo so much for that) really into botany but moreso on the side of farming/agriculture. really loves trees. treehugger but genuinely

m actually pretty curious regarding how the AFvamp AU would have gone. Like assuming the timeloop broke because SS1 told Mason about everything, would Anshine still have vampiric traits and/or impulses due to the nature of his pre-point self? And if so how would the other Points have seen them for it (or did some of them even know. I feel like your mason/anshine is the type to hide stuff to not worry others)

the fact that Cyalm’s first instinct whenever a Point doesn’t like being fed off of is “oh well, time to pointify another poor bloke so that I can feed the accidental freak of biology AND star power that I’ve made!” is both funny and extremely terrifying because that is exactly the type of thing they’d do with their non-existent “ethics”. Also the fact that everyone has to sit down have a whole meeting on “alright, who’s going to be scheduled on which day to feed them” is amazing… yet do they (referring to An) feel bad about inconveniencing everyone like this (let’s be real the answer is probably yes)
they all found out at different rates and times! Again I really like this detail cause I think by having the all have different time frames of finding out it does highlight everyone’s individual traits and personalities. Like all the different methods (ratting it out, having reservations and being proven right, or just not knowing entirely until you’re directly told) all tell you something about the corresponding Point!!

10a. blood tastes like blood. it's not very good. but you grow used to it quickly if you've been drinking it since you were a little baba. also, star power tastes(?) good, so it negates that somewhat! raw, non-star-power-infused blood tastes like crap to mason
10b. i have accidentally forgotten to clear up a misunderstanding! points don't actually have blood. anshine directly siphons the star power out of their body (which is made of what we call star glass or point glass entirely) star power is yummy and delicious, metaphorically! if siphoned out without warning, it tastes like... good. there isn't an exact flavor to it. it just feels good to consume because it literally heals you. if the points are providing star power to anshine, like, planned, they can choose to flavor it. compale started doing it in the hopes of getting anshine to enjoy eating more (so they do it more often and put up less of a fight) and it sorta worked?
im scared to know the half or even quarter of what you do to them. But on a lighter note YAY I get it as well cause nothing feels better than someone taking interest in your own little storylines that, even if halfbaked or is still yeast, is still a storyline that YOU can be proud of creating and sharing with others!! GAGGLE OF GODLY QUEERS IS A COMBINATION OF WORDS I NEVER THOUGHT ID SEE TOGETHER BUT NOW I HAVE. AND ITS SENDING ME you have no clue how hard i laughed when I saw that.

11. star power can be used to do literally anything you want, so long as you are biologically capable of it and know how to control it! if you meant "how" as in "in what way", star power is the magic system of my worldbuild so it just kinda... works... ? like if i had to describe it it's like. when anshine bites them, they're prepared to give up star power to them, so they can control how much and what kind of star power ends up in anshine's mouth if you meant "how" as in "what flavors would they each choose", compale mostly does warm, baked goods, so think cozy wintery christmas feeling. big surprise. they're the only one that does it super frequently. some others might beeee signol flavoring it like fruity cocktails (depends on the day), arrolin would try to make it savory and good but it almost always end up a bit too spicy, ixol (if you ever witness them voluntarily giving themselves up to anshine) would make it purposely as spicy as possible, shallare's tastes smoky (anshine REALLY likes it. mason was a smoker, shallare still is. imagine taking hits of your situationship like a blunt) and ploque's would have piney/minty tones
12. ok so! as i mentioned, mason was very eating disordered. he wants to consume as little star power as possible (because eating his townfolk is bad) and "compensates" for that by binging regular food. this is really bad for him in mostly undocumented ways star vampire bodies are capable of processing normal food, certainly, but it's a taxing and painful process. the pain from it can sometimes be quite strong... strong enough to drown out the cravings for star power, i guess the only real side effect is that it's like salt water. despite it being something you drink, it's the wrong kind of drink, which results in health complications, like dehydration (counterintuitively).
aww everyone flavouring it with the intention of helping them eat better :) except AAH IXOL YOU BASTARD. (ps: are there the only one who actively does this to make feeding on them offputting?) TAKING HITS OF YOUR SITUATIONSHIP. ANOTHER PHRASE I NEVER THOUGHT I’D SEE BUT AHAHAHA

I’ve never thought of the fact that it could be damaging.)
(as some food for thought, upon doing a bit of research, i did learn that vampire bats have “sandpaper tongues” where it’s covered in microscopic, backward-facing papillae so that they can just lick the area where there’s blood flowing out and the blood would just get into the tongue easily since it flows between the “hairs” on the tongue. That being said would mason have that?)

as for the sandpaper tongue, that's unironically super cool and i didn't know that... i am hereby making it canon!! I don't think it'd be the case for anshine since they drink straight magic most of the time and not blood but mason can totally have a funky lil absorbent tongue!!
and! as for ixol! yes, they're the only one that actively gives anshine trouble. ulipse and naen would be the other likely candidates but ulipse does care about anshine's wellbeing (ixol does too but you'll never hear it from them) and naen doesn't really care. cyalm never had to do it because anshine was too suspicious of them (due to their star power radar) to ever go near them. if you want to know more about K!AF2's long lasting ixolshine horrible divorce situation, i've talked about it just a tad in this post! but tl;dr they aren't JUST being a bastard and there's definitely more to it! that's how they are for everyone but with anshine especially there's a lot of history to their sour behavior
SANDPAPER TONGUE IS CANON NOW!! Benefits of knowing the local zoology-passionate person :) on the topic of sandpaper tongue (and bear with me because I find this stupidly funny), I once saw a short story/comic on Twitter where someone talked about how one of the characters was a cat (and therefore had a rough tongue), and the thing itself was the cat person kissing another person where the other person involved deadarse had to stop mid-kiss and tell the cat person “your tongue feels weird. Why does it feel like wet sandpaper.” and the two of them just stood there in silence after that was asked. That being said would that have happened between Mason and SS1.
divorce situation. Oh dear. They… they feel like the type of couple who’d both listen to No Children (by The Mountain Goats) post-divorce except one party mostly (???) stops listening to it and then goes and gets into a new relationship. and the other never stops. oughh… they make me sad. yet, assuming stratoshine does become canon after the events of AF2… (I can only imagine.)
LOL yeah totally i can see that. in canon K!AF2, eden (SS1) wasn't mason's first kiss, but in vamp AU i guess they would be because mason avoids people like the plague for obvious reasons eden would regret being like "wtf is your tongue" very fast because mason is gonna be insecure about that for the next 2 months and not wanna kiss them </3 at risk of becoming nsfw on main i'm just gonna say eden has ideas after finding out.. now if only mason stopped being ashamed of it
and about ixolshine! so K!AF2 has what i like to refer to as The Sky Emporicule, where basically every ship is canon. except a good amount of cyalm ships but that's a given. i just like playing with my touys too much i want to explore every dynamic!! stratoshine definitely does become canon but that isn't to say ixolshine never reconcile or anything. DOES make it way harder because ixol IS very jealous but like it's in the cards for them. stratos also has to get used to anshine being passed around like a blunt because everyone want them but they'll be fine lol
point is that there's no superior ship here. stratoshine is not the "main" anshine ship, anshine is really weird and gay with a LOT of them!! if you really think about it they've all been together for hundreds of years (save for strat and ss2) there's no way they aren't weird about each other. it's like the greek pantheon they are fuckin left and right methinks?

and! as for ixol! yes, they're the only one that actively gives anshine trouble. ulipse and naen would be the other likely candidates but ulipse does care about anshine's wellbeing (ixol does too but you'll never hear it from them) and naen doesn't really care. cyalm never had to do it because anshine was too suspicious of them (due to their star power radar) to ever go near them. if you want to know more about K!AF2's long lasting ixolshine horrible divorce situation, i've talked about it just a tad in this post! but tl;dr they aren't JUST being a bastard and there's definitely more to it! that's how they are for everyone but with anshine especially there's a lot of history to their sour behavior

YAYY WELCOME TO THE BLOG BUT OFF ANON!! JOYOUS DAYS
i'm so glad you're enjoying my crazed ramblings i'm ecstatic to be sharing them!!!
so my main au is K!AF2 (see: the thing i tag all my af2 stuff with) which just stand's for Kompot's (version) of Adventure Forward 2. it's like me taking everything about AF2 (and AF1 which is included in this package) and trying to make it work (god knows E1 didn't make it easy). my writing process is editing as little as possible about what we receive in canon. i extrapolate and add things instead of changing them if that makes sense!
secondary au to this would be the good ending AU, which only takes place during AF1. this is like "what if claud actually saved SS1 instead of putting them in a timeloop"? "but how does claud save SS1, aren't they the one at fault for everything that happened?" actually, claud/the red X/cyalm isn't originally "responsible" for the creation of stratosfear in K!AF2, that happens because of a natural reaction caused by overdosing on star power. they only stood by and watched, which was still wrong, but it's not quite the same tl;dr - in K!AF2, claud lets it happen, then pushes it further to make the narrative we all know and love. in GE, claud stops SS1 from their overdose and they live out the rest of their life in maytown with mason (and have aster! the little baby! if you've seen them! this is where they are!) this is also the AU where claud transitions lol
third au is the vamp mason AU i've been yappin about! it's still based in the world of K!AF2 with the same magic system and history and whatever, just that mason is a lil freak of nature this time
m actually pretty curious regarding how the AFvamp AU would have gone. Like assuming the timeloop broke because SS1 told Mason about everything, would Anshine still have vampiric traits and/or impulses due to the nature of his pre-point self? And if so how would the other Points have seen them for it (or did some of them even know. I feel like your mason/anshine is the type to hide stuff to not worry others)
and after the events of AF2 did him and stratos go back to doing the “voluntary feeding” thing like they did back when they were still Mason and SS1

also the mental image of Anshine sitting up in bed and staring at a sleeping Stratosfear next to him and using all his willpower to not bite down on them whilst sounding like a starved survivor looking at a proper meal but was told they couldn’t start eating is funny yet terrifying. imagine being stratos, waking up and seeing your husband making weird starvation sounds and staring at you like THAT.

Also the fact that everyone has to sit down have a whole meeting on “alright, who’s going to be scheduled on which day to feed them” is amazing… yet do they (referring to An) feel bad about inconveniencing everyone like this (let’s be real the answer is probably yes)
they all found out at different rates and times! Again I really like this detail cause I think by having the all have different time frames of finding out it does highlight everyone’s individual traits and personalities. 10a. blood tastes like blood. it's not very good. but you grow used to it quickly if you've been drinking it since you were a little baba. also, star power tastes(?) good, so it negates that somewhat! raw, non-star-power-infused blood tastes like crap to mason
10b. i have accidentally forgotten to clear up a misunderstanding! points don't actually have blood. anshine directly siphons the star power out of their body (which is made of what we call star glass or point glass entirely) star power is yummy and delicious, metaphorically! if siphoned out without warning, it tastes like... good. there isn't an exact flavor to it. it just feels good to consume because it literally heals you. if the points are providing star power to anshine, like, planned, they can choose to flavor it. compale started doing it in the hopes of getting anshine to enjoy eating more (so they do it more often and put up less of a fight) and it sorta worked?
im scared to know the half or even quarter of what you do to them. But on a lighter note YAY I get it as well cause nothing feels better than someone taking interest in your own little storylines that, even if halfbaked or is still yeast, is still a storyline that YOU can be proud of creating and sharing with others!! 11. star power can be used to do literally anything you want, so long as you are biologically capable of it and know how to control it! if you meant "how" as in "in what way", star power is the magic system of my worldbuild so it just kinda... works... ? like if i had to describe it it's like. when anshine bites them, they're prepared to give up star power to them, so they can control how much and what kind of star power ends up in anshine's mouth if you meant "how" as in "what flavors would they each choose", compale mostly does warm, baked goods, so think cozy wintery christmas feeling. big surprise. they're the only one that does it super frequently. some others might beeee signol flavoring it like fruity cocktails (depends on the day), arrolin would try to make it savory and good but it almost always end up a bit too spicy, ixol (if you ever witness them voluntarily giving themselves up to anshine) would make it purposely as spicy as possible, shallare's tastes smoky (anshine REALLY likes it. mason was a smoker, shallare still is. imagine taking hits of your situationship like a blunt) and ploque's would have piney/minty tones
12. ok so! as i mentioned, mason was very eating disordered. he wants to consume as little star power as possible (because eating his townfolk is bad) and "compensates" for that by binging regular food. this is really bad for him in mostly undocumented ways star vampire bodies are capable of processing normal food, certainly, but it's a taxing and painful process. the pain from it can sometimes be quite strong... strong enough to drown out the cravings for star power, i guess the only real side effect is that it's like salt water. despite it being something you drink, it's the wrong kind of drink, which results in health complications, like dehydration (counterintuitively).
