I've been thinking about an AU of K-pop Demon Hunters where the girls don't stumble with the Saja Boys in an alley, both meet them directly when they are performing Soda Pop on the streets.
Because there was no previous animosity, the girls didn't notice anything weird, just enjoyed the show.
Zoey even started singing along!
And then someone from the crowd noticed. In no time everyone realised that Huntr/x was amongst them.
The girls shared a look, instantly realising they were practically stealing the attention from the Saja Boys.
Rumi immediately put on her press smile, Mira and Zoey following her lead quickly. They jumped next to the Saja Boys, following their dance moves and singing the chorus.
Jinu caught on quickly and resuming the show.
That's how the image of the Saja Boys mingled with Huntr/x's.
Both bands left togheter. Jinu was planning on confronting Huntr/x, accusing them of purposefully stealing the show, but the moment he turned, Jinu found the three girls bowing low and apologising time and time again. They explained how they hadn't meant to, Zoey instantly taking responsibility for being careless, but the song was just, oh so catchy!
It devolved in the girls praising the boys for their performance and the inviting them to their floor for dinner as an apology. Maybe they could even introduce them to Boby and he could pass on some contacts to the boys.
Jinu was torn. In theory, it was a chance for them to game fame quicker, and even aided by their enemy! But it was also risky, they could realise what they were and at their place the hunters would have the advantage.
The decision was taken by Baby, who instantly accepted at the mention of food.
Due to all that had happened, Rumi had completely forgotten about her problems with her voice.
With time, it became an habit for both bands to hang out. Huntr/x liked the boys, how they didn't seem to idolize the or expect them to be perfect. And knowing how hard it was being new in the idol industry, they were making a point of helping the boys.
They attended practically all of their shows.
(There were only so many times Jinu could schedule the Saja Boys' shows at the same time that Huntr/x).
After a concert, the girls would be waiting backstage with their favorite snacks. They'd made a list.
Huntr/x even defended the Saja Boys from their haters on internet.
And of course, Baby, Abby and Romance defended Huntr/x.
Use your brain, Jinu! How do you think it would look if we didn't stand up for them after they did it for us? Said Baby with his bottle between his teeth, rapidly typing a post on his phone answering some nasty comments about Mira.
Yeah, Jinu. Added Abby with a (completely uncalled for, in Jinu's oppinion), roll of his eyes. Do you want to get roasted on internet?
The girls started appearing using Saja Boys' merch.
Jinu wasn't even surprised when Mystery got a beanie with Zoey's name embroidered on it.
The bright-ish side was that Gwi-ma thought it smart to keep the hunters close.
So, no angry boss to answer to, at least.
But it was an odd thing.
And the Jinu started getting to know Rumi and enjoying her company.
And when he saw her patterns, well... It was a shock.
He talked about it with the boys, unsure what to do with the new info. He knew the logic thing was telling Gwi-ma and find a way to use this against the girls. But there was something in the back of his mind making him hesitate.
Mystery shrugged, speaking up for once. What does it matter? It's not as if we could do something with it if Gwi-ma has no control over her. And he doesn't.
That made sense, sure! It was a useless piece of information, nothing to do with it. It would be pointless bringing it up. It was consensus. When did Jinu start looking for their opinion? Who knows? Who cares?
Besides they had to go to the girls place for movie night...
In short, the Saja Boys getting attached to Huntr/x like a bunch of stray dogs who got rescued, fed and cared for.
