Even more emotional than the hellos we share are the goodbyes we must face at the end of each visit. I try to convince myself that it’s gotten easier, that this time I can smile when saying goodbye; yet my tears always win. Of course, I’ve realised, that’s the way life is: every hello ends with a goodbye. Sometimes these are heart breaking goodbyes and sometimes they’re satisfyingly easy; however, without saying hello in the first place, we wouldn’t have the memories we hold onto today. Memories that bring tears to our eyes, smiles to our cheeks, and make for more memories to others. Even the painful memories are important as lessons, as stepping stones to what we can do better next time. While every hello is a risk, a chance to lose the person who whispered those very words to you…the memories are what makes the risk so very worth it in the end. ♡

I often can’t help myself, but I spend a little too long staring at the sky. I get caught up in the vast openness of it all, admiring how it manages to be different every day, yet still be the same. There are days so full of sunshine, you can’t help but smile at how happy nature seems to be. There are other days, so dark and dreary, it’s as if the sky is mourning a great loss. Much like humans, the sky will change depending not only on the day, but also where you see it from; yet, it’s still the same sky. We are all the same, yet different, in our own way. Even so, we are all a part of the same beautiful sky. ♡

I’ve come to realise that college is not definitive of who you are, what you become, or where you go. Some of us go into college knowing what we want from it, others without a clue, and some don’t make it at all. Whether you’re still in school, finishing up your PhD, just returning after a long hiatus, or not attending at all, be the one to choose what is right for you. After all, every day is a lesson and we are always students ♡

Perhaps I’m getting camera shy, perhaps I think my appearance just isn’t suitable, or perhaps I’m just over thinking! It’s easier to compliment others over yourself, right?

Perhaps, I don’t want time to go by so quickly, after all. I want more time to appreciate everything I don’t already, to try new things, to have fun and be happy and make others so. In fact, sometimes I just wish that time would stand still so I could savour each moment that makes me smile! I think maybe I should worry less about making the day go faster and start loving every second I have. ♡
