“My names Daniella. You could call me Dani.” It was odd, she felt odd. Did this girl know what she was? What Dani was? Could she tell? “Nice to meet you Kodi.”

“You too...” Kodi watched her for a minute before slowly saying, “Why did you stop me?”

“My name is Sophia… this may be a odd question Kodi but… do you know what you are?” She asked.

Kodi stared at her for a long moment. Human, was what she should say. But was she? She started accidentally setting things on fire as a teenager. That wasn’t normal. “No,” she finally croaked.

“Want a drink? you look freaked out.” Kodi gave a small smile, holding it out. “It’ll help, promise.”

“I will never say no to a drink.”

“Glad to help. I’m Kodi.”

Two days and Kodi was already considering running. This foster home had to be one of the worst. Shouting, screaming, smoke filling the halls, shoving. And that was just how they treated each other. She had no doubt it would be worse for her. Looking around the backyard, she hesitated, wanting to light a spliff but...

A fence. Neighbors. Perfect. She hopped over the fence, landing in the yard. she stood up straight, glancing over as she noticed a boy standing near by.”Hi.”

“Excuse me?” Sophia was staring intently at the young girl before her. “Sorry to disturb you but… “ She was a nephilim, just like her son and the boy she had met before, Zachariah. That made three of them now. “Whats your name?”

Kodi blinked slowly/ her.. name? She felt guarded around people usually, didn’t like to share information. But she felt... An odd sort of safety with this woman. “Kodi,” she replied. “yours?” She hesitated before adding, “Why?”

Dani took notice almost in an instant. She felt the presence, it reminded her of that boy she had met. Max. It was one of a nephilim. Someone the opposite of herself. She was half demon… they were half angel. At the display of power she quirked an eyebrow. “Yes, there is weirder things.” She said, almost a mumble in her tone as she nodded her head. Like me. Is what she held back. “Whats your name?” She asked, 

Kodi could feel something odd about the girl in front of her but... She wasn’t sure what. She watched her suspiciously before finally replying, “Kodi. Who are you?”

Kodi slid the cigarette between her lips and hesitated before lighting it with her mind. Pyrokenesis. She was freaked the first time she did it, almost set fire to her foster parents house. It was just after Schuyler had left. She shook her head and looked around, spotting someone near by. She hesitated, considering lying and saying there had been a lighter but.... She was pretty sure she was busted. “From what I’ve heard, there’s been weirder in this town,” she said instead.
