trying to be as gentle as she can, seeing how s h a k e n the woman before her is, clarke KNEELS on the ground before her. it would be best to be at e y e level, or perhaps lower even. the last thing she wants is for the WITNESS to feel threatened, to feel powerless in the situation. but s t i l l , patience can only go so far in the face of ABSURDITY. she is about to completely write off all that’s being said and perhaps suggest an a m p l e amount of rest, perhaps even psychiatric evaluation. but then SOMETHING she’d overheard her partner saying in l o w tones to the sheriff lights up in the back of her mind, and she HOLDS her judgement for awhile longer.

a sharp breath is inhaled in an attempt at tranquility, but it fails. heart beats rapidly & wildly in her chest, the lions trapped within the confines of her chest ROARING with contempt. a huff creeps out of her lungs & eludes past her mouth, fingers going to gently rub her temples.
❛ no one’s saying i did see that, now are they ? ❜ the harsh words are spoken with a narrowed pair of eyes, a frown manifesting on her lips. ❛ i wouldn’t mind a cup of water, ❜ she says in a much softer tone, figuring that CRUELNESS will get her nowhere. ❛ i don’t know how many times i must repeat the story before action is taken. but ... i guess that’ll do. ❜
a sigh rises from her chest, fatigue nipping at the corners of her eyes. she’s exhausted between late work shifts & juggling school, little to no time was spared for leisure, thus led to stress & too many hours spent in the company of herself. perhaps one good thing came out of this unplanned visit: human interaction.
