kyung is stood in the middle of the room, vulnerable and tense — quite the opposite of his usual mien, when the other walks in. his wide-eyed gaze refused to drift for even a second as if this wasn’t really happening. as if the person he hadn’t seen in YEARS would fade away from this party the moment his eyes dared to stray. the shock that enveloped every corner of his lithe figure frames him to the ground and forbids him to move. was it the overall surprise of seeing him so abruptly ? or perhaps it was the deafening disclosure of the girl that accompanied him, fitting so perfectly into his side. it seemed a bit foolish to admit to the flame that ignited within his body after all the time that had separated them. but truthfully, it was the last real relationship he’d ever involved himself in. after chase, it was nothing more than copious drunken hookups and weak attempts at showing any signs of genuine interest. and if you asked him, kyung would tell you he’d always been that way. however, the contradicting proof that just walked into the room would tell you otherwise. ——— he isn’t spotted at first. kyung somehow convinces himself to resist the urge of running away. leave the party and avoid the insufferable awkwardness of a reunion. but his body is urging him otherwise, feet carrying him through the small crowds of people before he’s a few feet behind chase. the girl that he’d arrived with had wandered off elsewhere and kyung realizes now was as good a time as ever to make either the worst or best decision of the night. “ didn’t think i would ever see you back here, ” he finally speaks up as he leans against the frame of a hallway. his tone and appearance is facaded in a composedness that certainly doesn’t reflect how he feels on the inside. “ don’t tell me you’ve already gotten bored of the big city ? ”
was bewildering how home could be anything but –– ascending steps to familiar abode to be greeted with foreign faces an awakening of far too many seasons spent in studying in another state . though some discernible features appearing every so often from sea of inebriated physiques to congratulate homme on return to place of origin and triumphs , and girlfriend , he had brought with him . they were all brand new to him , proof that homme had been gone for far too long and desperately needed to be home bound . even though such words meant being closer to rigid parents , knew possibilities that lurked underneath the surface , ones homme wouldnt dare mutter aloud , though nonetheless , still pondered upon . wasnt long till beloved femme of his had disappeared in to crowd , snaking her arms around another he’s sure . was still so obscure to homme why father had set him up with a lover who was yet willing to settle herself , supposes for their family image . doesnt mind too much , pair merely entertained one another every so often , not as if though they were in love , where they ? no –– at least not the way homme once was with another , never like that . determines a sudden craving of fresh air , muscular frame weaving past perspiring bodies till ventral is met with fresh midnight air . mentally loathed the holidays for the coming together of families , couldnt even begin to stand his and yet here homme was , back home . train of thoughts halting at a sudden voice that fills ears to the brim , one that causes heart to drop to where feet are located . ❛ easy to get bored of the big city . ❜ homme is shifting to face counter , reveling in big round optics of his that bring life back to still heart . hadnt changed a day , was still the most beautiful person he had ever laid eyes on . ❛ when you dont have someone you love to share it with . ❜ hues fixated on those of his , as if referencing him , his one true love . but doesn't explain any further for homme knew male knew exactly what he meant , knows he too felt what he felt not too long ago , and how such sensations never left . ❛ but i guess even then , i always find myself coming here . something keeps pulling me back . ❜
